That'd be more like a DLC, and I don't believe a XBLA game has EVER had a DLC before.. but it is Minecraft. It's probable, but highly unlikely. The modding community will always be and always stay PC.
It can be very difficult to mod a console, and trying to get mass amounts of people to do it would be digital armageddon, so I put my vote as no.
I believe those who put "yes" simply have a lack of knowledge about how these mods actually work.
Also, one cannot simply plug an XBox hard drive into a PC. It requires some reasonable hacking skills and a risky process called "hot-swapping" the drive into a modified PC. Unless you have a modchip or custom bootloader installed on the XBox.
Really? Hotswaping??? Modified PC??????
You just open the hard drive or use an adapter and plug it in. Then you just need a fatx explorer compatible with hard drives. It's even simpler than I can explain it.
If they ARE made, it would either cost 10-15 bucks like MudKip said, or they would cost 5,000 Microsoft points. (or maybe even more, knowing how microsoft is about money/Bill Gates :3)

XBLA games do have DLC (Castle Crashers is an example), but there will not be mods. Microsoft hates mods with a passion, because they don't make money off of them.

I retract my previous assertions. I was thinking about the original XBox. My mistake. The point remains, however, that the game will be in compiled C#.

One thing you could maybe do is put all the mod files onto a flashdrive, and if modding becomes possible on Xbox you can put it in, and select mod, and be done :tongue.gif: Btw, maybeh it's possible to mod the jar by putting whatever mods you want in your jar as a texture pack :biggrin.gif:

Not only that, but I've yet to see any fan-created content as DLC for a game - and that's what all texture packs and mods are. There may be "official updates" to the game (from Mojang/MS), but nothing like we have for the PC.

Agreed. They also lack knowledge in how XBox Live works, how the business model works, and how licensing works.

That is very true. I chose no myself BUT remember we are talking Mojang here. They may find some crazy way to make mods work. I'm not disagreeing w/ you I'm just saying

What about that one XBLA Knights game? (the four knights...)
I don't think it would be too hard, but it would require a reworking of the code for it. If there were a specific folder in the games save file to place mods, which are pre-packaged as a sigle entity and downloaded in advance to a usb flash drive and placed in this folder, and then the game would read those much like it does add-ons like other Xbox games, I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibly. That being said, however, I imagine it would take an extensive overhaul of the games code to allow it to automatically detect mods as add-ons.
I find the idea of the modifications to Minecraft on the Xbox 360+ to be impossible. All of the code that is put into the game must be signed by Microsoft, so that would require major work on both parties sides. Map sharing - Possible, much more likely. Mods != XBLA.
But I have a workaround. JTAGed Xbox 360's. You will see mods for these, but not for normal consoles.
If you think logically, Mods would be a BIG no-no. People would write mods like they did for the Wii, with Zelda. You start your game, you create a torch, place it, you have a JTAG, as the mod would place in such and such, and it would be an extreme problem.
