Have you not heard that you can easily install mods or add and replace stuff in the xbox version as easy and maybe easier than the pc version
1. GET A JUMP DRIVE AND HAVE MINECRAFT STORED THERE
2. THE #2 THING THAT NOTCH SAID HE WOULD IMPLEMENT LATER ON WAS A MOD SUPPORT SYSTEM
I agree with xbox players im one and i hate this high pitch voice come up screaming "i killed you you noob" as i say "umm... this is minecraft" also controls wont be as good as pc but it will allow for people who cant run minecraft well on their computers to play lag free. I just hope most of the minecraft community stays with the pc and on any console or device im gonna buy minecraft becuz it just that fun.
Joining servers: it might be like fortress crafts where theres a big list. Or it could be a lobby?
Minecraft- cool
Potions- ok
FortressCraft- NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You said original game NOT MINECRAFT RIPOFF!!!
and i know it hard to make game i made 4 myself
"Yogscast anyone?"
I am sure making your own server will be possible, look at TF2, L4D 1 & 2 and even Halo with custom games (Not so much as the past 2 because it was a friend only thing but I wanted a 3rd example). Besides griefers will NOT be a problem with me because I am 98% sure there will be a private server option and I don't really plan to play with anyone who I don't know.
STOP COMPLAINING ITS GOING TO BE SWEET good old minecraft and you dont need a buch of crap to make a server and its going to be easier to mod I have alot of exprence modding on xbox
My thing is I will stop playing total miner instead of getting off my lazy a55 to the computer
Multiplayer will be integrated with xbox live so servers would probobly be based on your gamertag.
If they manage to get it to integrate with your .net acount, then it would be possible to connect to PC servers from xbox.
you are very wrong about live gamers needing to kill something every 5 minutes because alot of people who own minecraft also play on xbox live, so if they have such a need to kill something, why would they play minecraft on PC?
I understand your opinion but its not a big deal. Its great enough that you can play it on xbox, if you honestly think its a problem, dont buy it! thats simple...

I used to be an arrow like you, but then i took a knee to the head.

I believe you are right about just not buying it. If you simply don't want it, don't get it. Done and done. But I have noticed the "tast" in games people play on Xbox. I have owned an Xbox and Xbox live for almost 6 years now. Personally, the taste has turned sour as it seems like everyone plays COD or a copy in some sorts. It can be hard sometime to get people attention for a game if there is not a gun in it...
I just dont see it flourishing as well as MC on pc...people on Xbox (although i own one) are generally dull minded.
All they know is how to open and close their disc tray. THEY NEED TO PLAY IT ON PC.
Why does everyone assume that minecraft on xbox is so important. Its the same idea as minecraft on mobile devices, just a downgraded port to a different system. Though the xbox version has much potential, no matter what it turns out to be, it will never compare to the PC version. I will be getting minecraft for xbox just to play it with my live friends, but i will still spend most of my time playing minecraft on the computer.

I don't think the community has a big effect on this. I play xbox and I absolutely love shooter games. But I also love games like Limbo, Trials HD, and Super Marble Blast and such. Those have no killing whatsoever. Not all xboxers are like you, or how you make them seem. Just saying. :tongue.gif:
And if you don't agree with Minecraft coming to xbox, just don't buy it. It isn't mandatory for anyone.
I doubt it'll be that bad, if its like pocket edition servers, but worldwide it should be good.
I agree about the obsessed FPS Xbox fans <.<
And they will most likely have mods.
impossible to have mods, microsoft doesn't allow third part content on the xbox.
But see, I'm an avid Minecraft player as WELL as an avid FPS player. I've owned servers and I love Minecraft. I don't see why everyone thinks that just because Minecraft is on Xbox now, that people are just going to randomly buy it.

Because it's not just a "downgraded port to a different system". It's a port of arguably the most successful indie game to the best selling console this generation. It's basically Minecraft, but played on Xbox 360. That's literally the only difference. And you know what? You can also play with PC players, on the same servers! Everyone wins here. Unless you don't own a 360. So it does compare to PC version, and always will, because they will be the same game.
Not to generalize, but The PC community is a bunch of console hating, superiority complex, biased people. You would only think console people are this way if these are the only people you have run into. I have a friends list of over 40 people who are nothing like what you described.
I have a pretty friends list of people on Steam, GFWL, Battlenet, and many more places. They don't act like this.
The PC community is way to large to generalize, as is Xbox and PS3. Leave the console warfare elsewhere please. Just because other people stoop to a level doesn't mean it's right.
As for OP's concerns-The community is what you make of it. No one is forcing you to play with griefers. As for mods and plugins-What more would you expect? So far, Rock Band is the only xbox game on the console that I see that gets a large amount of user-made content and it took them a long time to be able to get Microsoft use to it. If we see things such as Mo Creatures, ect. ect. it will be paid content and probably done through XNA.
EDIT:Microsoft will most likely not allow 3rd-party content to be installed via. USB drive with no fuss. It's a good way to disguise a soft-mod installer, such as many exploits on the Wii.
- Hosting/Server add-ons
No Bukkit or other server add-ons. A greifer's paridise.
- The community
Not to generalize but the XBox comunity is a group of people who go into a coma if they spend five minutes not killing somone in a video game. These people are very apt to be greifers. (Keep in mind I own an XBox and live, so i've seen it firsthand)
- Joining servers
It's a pain to find your XBox's IP (And alot of XBox'ers won't know how to do it) OR the server you join will be random. Also not a very good idea.
first off the servers will not use ips, just like any other game on consoles you will just join a multiplayer session, second of course no bukkit and stuff but i doubt there will be griefers because of no mass servers just individual sessions, so please before you post stuff like this do a tinybit of research!
(i was at minecon, and asked :tongue.gif:)
*edit* also unless someone knows how to write in c+ they arent going to create anymods AT ALL as the new minecraft on xbox will not use java

2. You just described gamers on all platforms, or generally anyone in the world given the ability to be anonymous. Hi, welcome to the internet.

I heard that the 360 version and PC version will be cross compatible.

Well there ARE different community categories for one. And two, grievers, in most Xbox games online, can be voted out and kicked. Then just go to their profile and select that you wish to avoid them in the future, and you probably wont end up joining a server with them in it.

Probably be like any other XBox game where it wont even BE by IP. I imagine you create a world, and you host, and people just join your hosted world/vice versa. Another good thing about this is that too would eliminate random griefers from joining. Maybe have a random server joining option as well? I think if they made it kinda like a lot of the games where you go to multiplayer and look at a list of games open, based on the type of gameplay, that you can join.. kinda like the Halo or Call of Duty games.
I play xbox all the time and i have never griefed on a server yet. and I don't really care for killing people 24/7 in games, but I do like cod game's for that :smile.gif:
See I don;t have to worry about any of this because I will only do singleplayer and a local Co-op splitscreen. Now I understand the issues of the xbox minecraft but honestly I think it would be easier for everyone to do like a single player or live far far FARRRRRRRRRRR away on a random server.
