People who come here to argue about how much they think Xbox sucks really don't understand the reason for having this section on the Minecraft forums. It's not to bash Xbox.
Furthermore, the idea that an Xbox game could never allow mods or private servers is false. Google "Xbox 360 Private Servers", they do actually exist.
Minecraft would not have to be "modded" to run server plugins, as they could all be serverside (never actually downloaded to the client, as they "run" off the server itself)
If you don't like Xbox, why are you here to discuss Minecraft on Xbox? Just to come talk trash on it and say how you think Xbox sucks? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense...
so many thoughts i just wanted to join in on the conversation.... and crossplateformplaying +20 they need to get that on mc for the xbox and the pc.... i want to go snipe the crap out of some noobs then probably build a fort....... even if it does take them some time they need to get this out there and out of there way for more BIGGER stuff than just mc on x-box and pc..... PS3? PSP? and maybe even with the 3DS or some nintendo stuff? either way they have to get this out and playable for all of us mc nerds :3
Uh, it is possible. I remember Microsoft saying a few months back that Minecraft on 360 would play nice with Minecraft on PC. I don't remember where I read it, but if I dug around hard enough I could find it.

Thank you. This forum seems to be attracting PC fans who would like to ruin the dreams of excited Xbox users by telling them all of what they've been hoping for is completely wrong.
Cross-Platform gaming has been around for a while. The first cross-platform mmorpg is Phantasy Star Online btw.
i remember that playing shadow run with my dad he was on pc (Games for windows live) and i was on xbox. good times...... so if minecraft can somehow integrate itself with games for windows live i can see a big possobility.
Also Minecraft for XBLA is written in C++ apparently and the PC version is written in Java, so I think that's impossible
I'm sorry, but you are totally and utterly wrong about this. You can port from C++ to Java and vice versa, Java was based on an older version of C++, hence similar naming (classes and definitions). Just saying, this is not a reason for it to be non-cross-platform, for lack of a better word. Just needed to interject there, sorry,
Xbox LIVE is a seperate network than the internet. therfore its impossible
sorry
if so then how are there already cross platform games? not trying to be rude but instead of posting willy nilly comments read up and do research and put time in your posts thanks :happy.gif:

Ok, so it's cross platform? But XBLA minecraft is a different game they said.
Wouldn't that mean it's the same game/we get it for free?
And voice chat would be nice, but the pc side people won't hear it, unless they released a major update.
And the 360 only has 8 players iirc, how will it connect to a 50 player server?
Just saying.

Also Minecraft couldn't support voice chat. If it did I think that alot of people would've already bought mics for their PC.
Along with that I don't think Xbox had creative. What if they try to connect to a creative server?
Oh wait! There is!
Thats some darn good diggin there!! :wink.gif:
1.) Xbox players had no hunger bar because it is still being developed.
2.) You don't need voice chat to be compatible.
3.) Like i said before, they don't have creative because their still developing it.
etc. /help would be
Symbols Down Down Down Right Right A button Etc just for the forward slash...
Thank you... I think I love you <3
