If you have a PS3 with Minecraft on it, and also have a Vita already, then why not?
The world sizes are the same, as well as the features that they hold.
The controls are also very good for the Vita. Since it doesn't have L2, L3, R2, R3 buttons, it assigns those to the D-Pad. Only use for the touchscreen is to quick select items on your hotbar.
I say go for it if you like playing Minecraft enough to take your world everywhere you go
Remember, you can transfer saves between PS3, and Vita, and vice versa.
the vita version is the same as the ps3, wii u or 360 version, so there is nothing different from the other console editions for items or gameplay. the only down side is that the world is small compared to the one and ps4 versions.
the gameplay is fine with some lag (as the vita is weaker then the ps3) but the only true downside is the awful view distance of 3 or so chunks

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed

Good to hear. Maybe my PS Vita will have some use again in the near future.

I'm gonna buy a cheap bouquet before it dies on the display.

The Vita version isn't the same as those other versions. It completely lacks 4 player split-screen multiplayer off one copy of the game. It also runs at a lower native resolution.
I'm thinking about getting Minecraft on the PS Vita, is it good?
Considering the graphics, controls, items, etc.
Let me know in the comments below!
