Hello there, I have been experiencing troubles with my Nether portal for a while now. I have checked other threads but none of them have found an answer for me (could be wrong).
This world I’m playing on is a good year old now and I haven’t had any problems with it at all until today. I hopped into my Nether portal and it teleported me around 1000, y, 1000 blocks (not correct but you get the gist, it was nowhere near my actual spawning location). This wasn’t a new portal, nor had I moved it, it just teleported me far into the nether on a random island and didn’t have a return portal to the Overworld. What a day to go in with a half broken pickaxe and a shield.
I raged for a couple minutes to myself about how to get back without dying and I was suddenly teleported back to the Overworld. Spawned 9000, 18, 1000 (again, an estimate) blocks away from my base. Underground. I raged more but I was able to mine my way out and travelled the rest back.
The portal was fine again once I used it and did what I needed to do but when I exited using the portal, it created a new one on the other side of my base. I thought it was weird, destroyed it and then tested again. Same situation, it made another portal in the camp.
Why has it suddenly glitched out like this? Is there anyway I can prevent it from creating portals. It’s not an issue to do with me creating a new portal since I didn’t, and the others that were created are extremely far away from my base. I don’t want to have to create this new portal thing because I decorated the old one to look cool and this other one has spawned smack beside my house.
Plus this world has been going on for a long time, this isn’t me first using the portal
I have been having this trouble as well, as of the most recent update.
Same deal, world is about a year old, portals all working fine, have a decent hub system running. Suddenly when I go into the nether instead of taking me to my hub I appear about 1000 blocks away in the nether with no portal. If I make a portal to return (luckily I'm well equipped with access to my ender chest) I end up back in the overworld 8000 blocks away from my base.
Back to the nether and fly to my hub and the portals seem to work fine again. If I restart the game it happens all over again.
From what I can tell, the first time I use my portal system when I load up my world it takes me from my coordinates in the over world to the same coords in the nether, and if I try to return it takes me to the corrected cords.
Eg. My base is at 1000, 1000. Go through the portal and appear at 1000, 1000 in the nether ( hub should be about 120,120 ) I go back to the portal and come out at 8000, 8000 in the overworld.
Driving me nuts. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting my portal system and it keeps happening. I'm out of ideas.

All tips are welcome, ty!
