I started my adventures with Minecraft in 2012 when it released for XBL for the first time. I remember the awesome "gargamel" seed and how easy it was to get a cool realistic looking mountain world seed within 5 attempts at starting new worlds.
Now, here in the days of the more advanced version of Minecraft on PS4 and Xbone, the worlds just don't seem to look as awesome any more. It takes me around 50 attempts just to get a mediocre mountain range that still seems to lack enough trees to look as realistic as they did years past.
When you generate a new map, do you check out the entire world for these mountains? They may not be in the current map segment, but the next, or even the next. I have a world that has some nice mountains, but it's 3 map segments away from my original spawning point.
It just seems that the best mountain ranges lack trees and other realistic features. The old "gargamel" seed and other old seeds like it had trees in the valleys and just overall looked more believable and exotic. Maybe it's just me.
