Ok, I give, why is there is a long bar under the saves that is slowly turning yellow as I play? Is it the amount of the map that has been explored or something?
Also, anyone else annoyed by the fact that the PS4 version is cramming autosave down our throats? I have always had autosave disabled so I can mess around when other players pop in and not have to worry about my stuff getting destroyed. Now it's always trying to get me to turn it back on? I think it might even re-enable it by itself? And, let's say you get tired of the pestering and you enable it, why do you have to then DISABLE it to do a hard save?? It's crazy and I don't see anyone else mentioning it.
Hate that too, I want to be able to save only when I want or need to, It's unnecessary to have it suggested to us every single time we want to manually save the game and there seems to be some code or maybe it's just a glitch/bug where it just enables itself at some point lol. I think the long bar at the menu represents the total amount of memory we can use for all our game saves.
From what I can gather, the yellow part of the bar in the saves window indicates the time of day in the save currently highlighted. It moves up and down the blue bar depending on which save is selected, with the blue bar growing depending on saves.
I have 4 saves currently, two were saved in daylight and two in night time. The yellow bar is smaller on the two night time saves. I have explored about the same amount on these saves using creation mode so I can ascertain how good the seed is.
EDIT: My theory is flawed; a map just I just saved in daylight has a small yellow bar by it, so I was talking rubbish!
All your saves add a different length in blue to long bar below and for each save you highlight, a fraction of the bar is highlighted in yellow representing the file size and order.
The bar is not yellow if you use a texture pack LOL
Me and the OP were both getting blue / yellow on our bars, I used the Natural texture pack but I don't know which texture pack he was using. EDIT: I'm not even sure what color it is without a texture pack. LoL
Colors vary between texture packs.
Yes this is frustrating! Just today I started a game and I disabled the autosave or so I thought! Anyway I got to a point in the game, found some diamonds and manually saved it. Anyway carried on for much longer than I thought and a creeper exploded right behind me, little did I know after I manually saved it the stupid game re enabled the autosave!!!! So I quit once I realised the creeper had killed me and reloaded the game I manually saved earlier and to my horror it just reloaded me dead from when the creeper killed me! This does need fixing for sure. I can imagine somebody new to this game would wonder what the point of restarting over and over would be when the autosave is flawed even when you switch it off
This happened to me last night too. I decided to take a break from "surviving" and just goes nuts for a while. I died at the bottom of a ravine not knowing that autosave had turned itself back on.
I'm sure it's too late now, but, if it happens again, remember that PS Plus(I'm assuming you have it since we all do now) auto-uploads your saves. Just delete the saves you have on your system and pull last night's saves down from online. This might set you back, depending on how much you did before you died, but in some cases it could be worth it.
The bar on the bottom relates to the total save storage you have used. As you select each of your saved worlds it will highlight the chunk of save space that the current world represents. The more of your world you explore, the larger that chunk will be.
I know its basically been answered but heres my view: Itll be blue or yellow depending on how many worlds you have. when I only had one it was all yellow because the yellow is the world you are "selecting". I didn't get a blue bar til I made my second world. idk if theres more colors for more than two worlds. but the world I have my cursor on is yellow and the one not selected is blue. idk if that gives you a limit (probably) but if it does it probably will be a lot to do before you reach your limit, after all this is a sandbox game so it should give you quite a bit of space. also considering they just up'd the map sizes so youd think theyd give you more room. Also, I used the city texture pack and yes the world im selected on is yellow.

all you need to do is go to the world go more options, world options and disable autosave
That's the problem, the game pushes the option of autosave on people, and it may be a bug also.
