Also of note, I brought my PS3 to my firend's house and was able to connect online no problem. So there is obviously some sort of failure happening between my router and Minecraft- I just have no idea what it is or how to solve it.
Bandwidht is good, maybe try without your router, direct connection modem--playstation, If it doesn't work i can't help you more, I dont work for 4JS but they are very good. This Topic is about bugs listing, pretty sure it's on the list now

Ok, a lot of players have this issue so maybe yes, it have something to do with the game, but I suspect your bandwidth of making things worse for the moment.
Did you test your connection speed on your ps3, what is your NAt type, what is your UPNP status, what is your download and upload speed? *if you have to test it, do it in normal conditions (don't turn off everything normally using bandwidth at your home)

This test was done within a network that has 2 cellphones and ipad and a laptop connected as well.
Mt friend did run a speed test, his wasn't as high (don't remember the exact number) but it was approx. 6mbps download and 1.3 upload speed
Both my friend and I are unable to play with any other of our friends on minecraft.
My connection at this time is wireless, however I have tested it wired too. My friend has a wired connection.
My friend and I are in the same city, approx. 10 min drive from each other.
My friend and I have been able to play any other multiplayer game. Ex. Gta 5, crysis 3, battlefield 3.
I'm not looking to start a gender/equality debate - that is not my intent! I'm simply pointing out that I bought this game to play with my niece (who loves the game, btw!) and was disappointed to see of the eight default character skins, there wasn't a female one for her to choose.

[a] - When trying to add local players to the game session ( ie. controllers #2 and more ), game will ONLY allow users with PSN accounts, including host. If Host is not a PSN user, only guest logins can play. ( eg. Steve, Steve(2), Steve (3) ).
[b] - For local multiplayer, PSN users must be logged into PSN to play locally. No offline play is available unless they are using Guest account.
So if the following users on the PS3 are:
Adam (PSN)
Bob (PSN)
Charles (local)
The following happens:
Adam's (PSN) game - Bob (PSN) can join upon PSN login only. Charles cannot join unless as guest Adam(2).
Charles's game - Adam (PSN) and Bob (PSN) can only join as Charles(2) and Charles(3).
Addt'l note: Whle it is great that Guest login characters are saved (inventory, stats), any player joining will be the same character (being a Guest). Changing the existing system would allow all players on the system fo keep their characters on the Host players world.

[a] - When animals are penned in fenced areas, they can frequently "climb" out of the pens that the normally cannot. Building fences higher makes no difference, they appear to be clipping through.
[b] - When attracted with food, interacted with, or sometimes when touching, the animals teleport back to the fenced pen. On occasion, they do not return and stay outside.

nope, Lava bucket can be used as fuel in furnaces and will last 1000 seconds, which means you can smelt or cook 100 items. However, the bucket will be destroyed in the process.

I found an interesting bug for you, when I break a block using a pickaxe with silk touch or fortune, if the pickaxe breaks, the enchantment does not apply to the last block. It's slightly annoying to have that one piece of cobblestone in my inventory (or diamonds when I wanted diamond ore). I realize that the pickaxe updated before the block does, but can that be reversed in the code? It's rare for it to happen since a diamond pick lasts awhile but still noticeable.
I'm from Ireland and i just got the game so i can play offline split screen with my friends but it don't work.
in a level or main menu i turn on 2nd controller and press start on 2nd controller nothing happen. plez help i love minecraft so much i have it on my laptop, tablet and PS3.

I have this really annoying bug, and I know it is a bug because my friend has it to. when I play the game it cuts out a lot of the screen on the right side, so I can only see a little of what I have in my hand. I know this isn't my TV, I switched and still nothing. hope you have the time to reply.
Bug - When playing multiplayer online if the hosts controller turns off/loses power the game thinks the host has left and trys to save. The game does not save and the game freezes losing all data to last save.

usually the voice chat is still enabled when the controls are unresponsive.. it seems to happen just after an autosave.. before the crash blocks become unresponsive (i often play as host, i imagine things are extra laggy for the guests.) you can break a series of blocks, but they don't become items you can gather up. animals won't move.. chests won't open, crafting tables won't respond.. these things happen to various degrees, usually there is some indication things are not going well.
if the crash happens ingame, the onscreen action will freeze.. if you decide to save or exit when it's obvious things are bad, it will happen on the autosave/exit screen.
sometimes you have access to the xmb menu, sometimes not. if you do not, a hard reset using the power button is required. if you can access the xmb menu, you can choose to "quit game" which will cause the ps3 to beep and reset itself.
occasionally the xmb "quit game" option funtions normally and quits the game, but if you reload minecraft without restarting, you can expect the buggy/glitchy game behavior to continue. and a freeze is soon to follow.

animal farms make the chat laggy and stuttery. possibly also water elevators (even with no mobs). when i move away from the farm, the chat clears up.

Been playing on a saved file for over a month without any problems. I don't manually save it because that caused my file to be corrupted before. A lot of work has been put into it. All of a sudden it's loading and the screen turns black with white speckles. Somebody included a photo of this on page 10 of this forum. Now my game won't load. Very frustrating. After dealing with corrupted files, it seems I can't load my save file again. Has anybody found any fixes? If not, there really isn't any reason to continue playing if I can lose all of my stuff that easily for no reason. I almost had all the trophies too and was about to attack the ender dragon.

Are you sure this is not the host with the invisible mode activated? I'm pretty sure someone making fun of you.
