No. The two versions have been deliberately separated - if they were both the same, it would be unfair to charge for the Pocket Edition when the Pi Edition is given away for free.
Interestingly, both are built off the same code base, so you can see strings for the unreleased new Pocket Edition settings screen in Pi and can see parts of the Pi code in Minecraft PE.
I don't think its "unfair" to not charge for the Pi version. It's not like Pi has a huge install base and is a mature platform like the other platforms they support. One day that may be the case and then they can start charging for it, but today, that is not the case. Pi would make a great server for MC SMP on phones.
You can read info about players on the PE machines using the pi, but can't write (e.g. using entity.getTile works, entity.setTile doesn't). PE player hits are detected by events.blocks.hits

Just so you know you can actually host a Minecraft Pocket Edition server on PI, http://www.pocketmine.net/ follow the instructions it says on that on the Linux and install the the Pi but is slightly laggy and Mojang are soon to release a official server to be run of computers, so you will soon be able to install that on it
Quick search didn't bring anything up so I thought I'd pass this on since finding it out last night by mistake.
If you have the raspberry pi running MCPI and then proceed to boot up the pocket edition you are able to connect to the pi's game.
And I was still able to build structures via code and they appeared up on the iPad's screen.
Very useful for me to use the iPad as a second screen whilst coding some bits of code.
If this has already been posted or is common knowledge sorry! Just let this post rot.
