No Unfortunately not yet. Ocean Monuments were part of the 1.8 ("The Bountiful Update") for PC. So we can expect them, most like sometime around TU25 on console.
Has anyone else had trouble finding ocelots on this seed? I've been playing it for a couple of months now, and have explored several different jungles (always equipped with plenty of enticing fish), but I haven't yet seen or heard a single ocelot. I've been hoping to set up a creeper-repelling barrier around my base using cats, which is difficult to accomplish without ocelots.
Also, I found something very odd. During one of my kitty-seeking hikes I stumbled across a mostly buried and incompletely spawned desert temple in the middle of a jungle. Being pretty new to Minecraft, I didn't know if that was common or not, but I made a note of the coordinates to report here. When I checked the coordinates against the location list on the first page, I found the spot already listed as a jungle temple (X: 145 Z: 22). I went into the separate creative save I keep of this seed to make it easier to find the temple's central treasure shaft, but when I flew to the location I found a standard jungle temple there. I hadn't been in my creative save for a few weeks, so I made a new copy of the survival save I regularly play, went into it in creative, and the jungle temple had again been replaced by the buried desert one. The Xbox had done a game update (not the most recent one, but the one previous to that) the night before this happened, so I assume the temple switch is somehow related - I'd probably already done a fly-by of the location in my original creative save when I initially checked out the seed, which would've prevented any changes being made to an already explored map area, but I hadn't yet visited there in my survival game. I'm also kind of wondering if whatever caused this may be preventing ocelots from spawning in my game.
I'd love to know if anyone else's game has this weird little glitch, and if it does, if they have any ocelots in their world. Thanks!
(Btw, in case anyone else does have the desert temple in place of the jungle one at X: 145 Z: 22, I did eventually manage to find the central shaft. The blue wool center block is directly under X: 154 Z: 26, which is at the left side of the base of a jungle tree.)
Hey, just saw your post. After reading I did some running around in the jungle located near spawn behind the Village. I hadn't noticed anything to do with Ocelots as I have yet to have any need or desire for them. I got a few feet into the Jungle and found several :-/ I don't know whats going on with the way the seed generated for you, unfortunately. But I'm looking into it. As far as the Desert Temple in the jungle goes, That is how it generated for me as well. I don't know why I didn't make a note of that in the post. By this point I know about everything there is to know about this seed, as I get bombarded with questions about it VIA Minecraft Forums, Youtube, ect... So if there is anything at all you'd like to know about in the future don't hesitate watch for an update soon including 30+ spawners, and 600+ diamonds!
Thanks for the reply, David. If you have any older saves you might want to check them for the jungle temple/desert temple issue - it was still a standard jungle temple in my original creative save in which I'd most likely been in the area before the update, so it may have been normal when you first made the location list. I think something in the update must've caused the switch.
I'm kind of worried to hear that you had no problem finding ocelots right in the spawn area's "back yard jungle", where I've spent hours without seeing a single one. I've done so much I'd hate to have to restart to be able to have access to ocelots. I wonder if the problem could be related to the fact that when I started with the seed I often kept it on "peaceful" to do my building and mining, or that I turned off autosave early on after learning about trapped desert temple shafts the hard way - like I said, I'm pretty new to the game. I'll go in the world I made for my niece using the same seed and check for ocelots; if they're extinct there as well I'll try creating a new world.
The only other odd issue I had was that most of the spawn area's local villagers disappeared within the first few MC days, leaving only 2 survivors. Not a zombie infestation problem b/c the game was on peaceful, so I haven't a clue where they went, but I managed to slowly repopulate by building more houses and making some ridiculous trades with them to encourage breeding, and now have them back up to about 6 or 7. I stayed in the village at X: -2231 Z: 1134 and traded a lot with the locals for a couple of weeks or so MC time while mining & exploring in the area and never saw a significant dip in the population, so the problem apparently isn't with all villages.
I look forward to the update you mentioned! I noobishly destroyed the first couple of spawners I encountered, so finding more will be great for my XP farming plans. Thanks very much for sharing such a terrific seed, and for the continuing updates.
Edit: After some Googling, I learned that ocelots may not spawn on peaceful on Xbox, but I don't think that's my problem here. I haven't had it on peaceful for over a month, and they should have spawned on easy & normal; I also created 3 new worlds using this seed, 2 on easy & 1 normal, w/o finding any ocelots. I'm planning some more testing today, but it may not be just this seed - possibly our Xbox just really has an aversion to cats. I created worlds (only on easy so far) using 2 other well documented seeds from this forum and 3 random ones. Conveniently, in the 2 later random seeds I actually spawned in jungles, but it was only in the last one that I finally caught a glimpse of a solitary ocelot. I quickly lost sight of it and didn't see any more, though. Like I said, I'll do a bit more testing, then I guess maybe I should move this question from "Seeds" to "Support". This is really weird and annoying.
The Ocelot issue is very strange. I've been trying to look into it, but I can't seem to find anyone having your particular issue. Sorry in other news I may know the whereabouts of your disappearing Villagers. Because of the weird height of the various houses in the village The AI of the villagers in this case have them run into a hole comprised mostly of Gravel closer to the desert side of the village.
Hey cattrfly.. your problem with the ocelots is that your on peaceful....try it on Normal and there will be plenty.
Just search above block 60 in the jungle. And David is right about the villagers, thats where mine went.
Thanks, SoichiroNesta, but I haven't had it on peaceful for over a month, and from what I understand ocelots should have spawned when I raised the difficulty level even if it was previously on peaceful. Hostile mobs had no trouble spawning on easy & above, but no kitties. I've also created several new worlds using the same seed which have never been on peaceful but still no ocelots.
I found the villagers in their pit the first time I entered the village. I made them steps, herded them out of it, & filled it in, so that's not where they disappeared to. I also made the village more habitable for them, adding stairs & doors to houses that needed them, but I guess they didn't appreciate my efforts. Thanks for the the suggestion, though, & thanks for trying to help w/ my weird ocelot extinction problem.
New to the forum, but have been on this seed for a little while (found it via YouTube). My son got me addicted to Minecraft.
This is my survival world. I wish I had kept track of my diamond locations while mining, but I have an emerald location to contribute.
There's an underground cavern at X 436 y -206. If you look on the walls, you will see 3 or 4 emeralds. These are in plain sight. I found 1 or 2 more by digging around at ground level. I found 5 total in this area. I believe there were a couple diamonds on the wall, as well.
Thanks for the emerald tip, BlueBeast13. I haven't found any emerald ore yet, so I was excited to check this out since it's not far from the spawn point where my base is. Are you sure of the coordinates, though? I assumed the -206 was the Z, not the Y (Y= elevation). In my world X: 436 Z: -206 is at the edge of an extreme hills biome. That exact spot has a huge hill on it, and I can't find any cave entrances in it, or any in the area that lead to those coordinates. Do you remember if you entered through a cave, or stumbled across it while digging? Or do you have the actual Y coordinate so I can get a better idea which part of the hill to search? Or am I looking in the completely wrong spot? Thanks!
Sorry for not specifying. The Y coordinate is around 13 for the bottom of the cave. You'll have to climb a little to reach the emeralds, but you can see them from the bottom.
The cave is directly below that hill. I turned that hill into my main house, hollowed it out, and built a mine shaft strait down. That's how I found it.
Thanks! I was driving myself crazy re-exploring all of the nearby cave systems trying to find one that led to those coordinates. As soon as my husband lets me back on the Xbox I'll go do some digging & find the cave.
Sorry if this has been mentioned before but at X: -961 and Z: -800 is a village with a blacksmith chest and almost right beside it in the same desert at X: - 947 and Z: -732 is a desert temple.
Kudos to everyone for updating this seed! I'm using it for my first survival playthrough. This might be a dumb question, but could anyone tell me the coordinates for a dark oak forest?
I wonder, has anyone found an Underwater Temple?
EDIT: Are underwater temples even in the game yet?
