My friends' base on a vanilla server was griefed a few days ago, and I want to get vengeance. However, I don't know who did the griefing. I've asked around, but no one seems to know. An admin knows of the ten players who may have been online during the griefing who might have done it by using logs, but they won't say who the players are. I'm going to ask other admins and the server owner for the logs. What else can I do?
well with out the logs knowledge or player knowledge your stuck....but you can rebuild and get grief prevention plugins or u can ask admin if they have backups...that might be a option

And then KILL them all!! Bring the server down with you and destroy any hopes of anyone restarting.
Or you know you could keep asking people if they know anything and try to get the logs so you can find out who did this to you, but instead of trying to get revenge you should notify an admin and get them banned.

I asked for logs but they wouldn't give them. I can't get them banned because griefing is allowed.
How would I destroy hope of anyone restarting? Can't they just rebuild?
I don't think I have the capability of getting close to everyone. Some players won't let me due to their own security concerns. Furthermore, griefing everyone could be counterproductive, as the griefer may want to maximize damage to others, so I'd be doing exactly what they wanted me to do.

How would I destroy hope of anyone restarting? Can't they just rebuild? Not if the entire 60,000,000 x 60,000,000 block world is nothing but a smoking crater with no resources anywhere! At that point though they would probably just create a new world...
Well, since no one really tried to help you, you'll have to grief every suspect.
My thoughts exactly. If griefing is allowed on the server, then just grief everyone who was online at that time. If griefing is NOT allowed on the server, then don't do it.

Slowly get to know them, gain their trust. Then get so close one will spill, smile evilly to yourself and plot their slow and painful demise.
Thank you
Don't try and get revenge yourself. Let the staff figure it out, and if the server is like most, they should get banned.Getting revenge almost always goes wrong, and never ends right. It almost always backfires.Ignore what I said, do what GiselleGewelle said. Just don't grief.
Why would anyone tell you they griefed your friends' base if you're their friend? Wouldn't they deny it to keep you close?
Edit: Also, who would I know to get close to?
Everyone. Get intimate, have fun times

Could shoulder who? I don't know who the griefer is.
How would that help me get vengence?

If you don't know who did it you can't get vengence.
If you don't like it you should consider playing on a server that doesn't allow it.
Just testing.
I once had my base griefed, I hated that person. The server is down now but I don't hate them anymore.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

I like the way you think. The issue is, the griefer might like others being griefed, so by griefing so many players, I might be helping the griefer.
I don't know who the griefer is, so I can't find their mom.
