Wow! This is very cool! I'm surprised theres no snow in the world cause that happened to most worlds. anyway good job
Thanks, the nearest snow to me is actually on the shore-line towards the half-way house. There never used to be but some time in (Beta possibly) the biome changed and that side of the ocean froze over. I have taken show from there in the past - afterwards, and it's not come back so I think the biome may have changed again at one point. There's also a huge amount of snow by the minecart halfway station as there always has been, though I haven't lifted any to see if it is still a snow biome.

Impressive. But i could do better HAHAHA jk lol
PLEASE MAKE A MENTAL ROOM WHERE MENTALLY INSANE PEOPLE HAVE TO GO TO AND MAKE A FOIL ROOM WHERE THE WALLS, FLOOR, AND CEILING ARE MADE OF IRON BLOCKS, OR SOMETHING THAT LOOKS LIKE ALUMINUM FOIL.
I've been having a break - not just from this world but from Minecraft for a little while, then I went on holiday for a week and in the two weeks since I've slowly been getting back into it. (Also upgrading to windows 10 and trying out that version.)
I was working on a small extension to the back of the church before my holiday, a - vestry? I'm not religious so I don't know the names of every part of a church I'm afraid.A separate triangular roof will be added eventually, separate from the existing roof. So far the walls are getting very high and are almost at complete height:
I also had a strange zombie encounter. Back then, whenever I came out the church, I kept hearing zombies but couldn't work out where the groaning was coming from. I checked a cave system just along from the church and despite only being partially lit, couldn't see any zombies! In this next pic there was a huge amount of dirt here that I cleared because I thought zombies might be behind it:
In the end, I just started digging down and sure enough - there they were.
I was hoping it was an ancient spawner in a dungeon that I had not found in years, but alas it was just a number of zombies that had build up over time in the darkness. I also dug a new section in the flat of the wall in the art museum. When I built the new Trading area in that area, two ore blocks on stands (Coal and diamond I think) were in the way of the view. So I said wen I got my silk touch pick back I would move them. Sure enough I have into this new dug out area.
Te area is finished, I just havent got round to taking a picture yet.
Fast Forward to after my holiday, and this happened:
Keep an eye on the ares marked wit a red circle.
The wooden extension that covers around the stairs down to the library, art museum with Trading area and aquarium, snow factory, mob area and nether portal is gone! This area could also be accessed via a door to the right, just inside the do kennel, this too as been blocked off! The area as been reverted back to nature, but this also however meant I had to find an alternative way down to those areas. Te answer came quite simply. This empty passage way from the do kennel:
By putting a door at the end of this passage it actually gives this area more of a use now, perhaps I should at last start adding furnishing details.. The actual stairs go down by only a couple to a landing, then back down on themselves in the other direction exactly like its former location. In fact they run parallel to the other side of the wall to were they used to be!
Result, includin outside:
Also on the outside the old brick work was changed to white hardened clay with stone-brick trim, a uniform look that I noticed has been happening around the back of the mountain. Nether brick stair roofs have changed to stone-brick stairs, including upper high window with the old vines removed. If your wondering why the red circle on the birch tree - or more specifically the brick wall and mountain dirt wall behind it theres a reason.
Te old entrance to what I just knocked down could be accessed via a Dark Oak door in the lounge extension, before that, it was to the left of the TV via secret pistons. During the piston era the brick wall was extended along - purely to hide redstone. Similarly with the dirt part of the wall outside, trying to make it look like part of the mountain. When the secret entrance was removed inside however to the Dark Oak door in the lounge extension, I never removed the redstone and pistons. With this big demolition of the wooden facade around the steps, there was also no need for the built up brick wall and dirt wall anymore once I removed the old pistons and redstone. That is the story of why it looked the way it did.
Also before my holiday, I finally bean the office by the armor room, all there was up until then was the empty dug out room.
Yesterday, the living room floor randomly caught fire:
It had been fine with the lava since forever before hand.
I also did start continuing the kitchen and bathroom renovation in the apartment block before my holiday, but part of me is tempted to knock it down and re-build it in a much more modern design - but Im not sure. I have a design in mind but it would be a big job knocking it down as i will need to re-use resources. I also might ave a much more modern designer look bedroom - another idea.
Please feel free to give me ideas, suggestions and your thoughts if you want me to continue this journal, then I will. I do have some 1.9 plans also to spice things up, but that wont be announced until late October when the world officially turns 5 years old.

Yeah, that must be terrible! Reminds me of how one time I had to use that school computer that took like 3 presses on average to get the letter "t". It was quite annoying. Then everyone was annoyed at me because I made "really annoyed" noises XD.
good god man... you are truly a minecraftian... four year old world...
Now I've gotta know, if you've been around since before the big Halloween update (which is when I bought minecraft :D), which would you say, out of all the versions, is your favorite terrain generation? I've seen alot of people quite partial to Beta 1.7.3 (which is my favorite as well... something about it...)
And, have you/do you/will you use mods? do you have other worlds where you play around with mods? And/Or do you use non-block/item/mob adding mods in this truly epic masterpiece and dedication to the game?
(also, how often do you backup your save, and have a copy on a flash drive or something?)

That's tough, I love Alpha terrain but contrary to many early starters opinions, I don't actually like the neon green grass! However, you could get really cool mountains like this one - keeping in mind the front of the mountain where the bay window was just a hollow fronted mountain - lava was always there though but not as wide obviously same for the waterfall round the back. There was also a smaller hole (Now the bedroom) which I extended, before the to of the mountain. On the other hand, I do LOVE the huge BIG beta over-hangs. I'm not sure if I can decide between Alpha (Upto 1.26) and Beta late 1.7/1.8 era!
And, have you/do you/will you use mods? do you have other worlds where you play around with mods? And/Or do you use non-block/item/mob adding mods in this truly epic masterpiece and dedication to the game?
I've only used aesthetic ones like water shaders, shaders and mini-maps on this world, though I had one mod that stopped endermen griefing the terrain. I hated my terrain looking like swiss cheese. The mod is terrible outdated now however. It is unlikekly I'll ever use mods for this world. I've played plenty of technic launhcer mod packs from regular Hexxit and Tekkit to Crafting Dead, Feed The Beast, Simply Vanilla, the 1.7.10 mod pack, hack & slash mine and yogbox. I get stuck with technical stuff like Hexxit, tekkit and FTB with all their items and will just rage quit over Crafting Dead. I was currently doing the 1.7.10 mod pack but it requires 3gb out of my four I have, so i can't really.
(also, how often do you backup your save, and have a copy on a flash drive or something?)
Back-ups after each play and about 3 weeks ago I copied it to a USB stick - just in case as I am that paranoid. Time to do that again me thinks!

So before I start out with the big news in the title I'll start with some of the smaller jobs I've been doing, alot of these are small silly aesthetic jobs that needed doing that I've never got round too. First up, with the walls to the small back extension to the church done, I've started on the roof but have changed my idea from a separate to elongating the current one. You can see in this picture how the roof is beginning to creep around the small back extension:
Meanwhile on the bridge from the church I finally got round to adding white glass blocks over the glowstone in the sides of the floor. It still needs loads in the roof however.
Back on my main shore and I finally got round to doing fishing a job I started long ago. Back in February this year (page 5), I finally removed my Alpha dock platform and replaced it with something modern, although it didn't take long and I completed it there were some finishing touches I kept putting off due to laziness and never got round to them. Mainly finishing the jungle fence detailing, glowstone in the center of the new water gazebo and the last two glowstone in the roof.
All these are done at last! I've also removed any torches so it's just lit by glowstone at night.
Speaking of the sure I did some aesthetic work to the shore that has been bugging me. Dirt underneath the sugar cane on the shore as well as all these big dirt splodges underneath the water:
After:
I've also begun stone-bricking the first part of the tunnel towards with the Half-way House, after being bored one Friday:
Using lava buckets I had, I used them to smelt the cobble but would need more lava when it ran out - so in a little side indentation in the tunnel I dug down and started to strip mine while I waited. Lots of lava pools found but there was also another reason for this, My diamond sword durability was getting low (Or I was actually on an iron sword - I can't remember)and my diamond pick was in the red, I was already on an iron axe and spade; so I needed diamonds!
Initially I only found seven, and was about to turn back at a mass lava lake when I went on a cave spree caking the lava lakes with water and following endless caves and finding loads of diamonds. Including the initial two diamond tools I made I got about 28 diamonds in total! I also got very lost in the caves and had to dig u wondering where on earth I had come u at. It wasn't that far away though.
Lastly on the small side, I reorganized a few chests. Everything you see on the right by the furnaces - the dirt/snow/gravel chest were where the now colored clay block chests are.
Separated into chests of reds (Also purples and magenta), blues & greens (Including Cyan), yellows & orange, brown & blacks and lastly the neutrals - white, light grey and grey. I intend to fill these u as much as I can.
Mount DOOOOooom
So back on age #9, I proposed and idea to make the end towers (parapets?) much bigger, I'd have to re-route some of the rail track but that wasn't a problem. Last Friday just gone, through boredom I decided to go ahead with the work. I had started two new front gate towers long ago the last time I touched it.
As it was last:
New work:
I came to a conclusion however.
Even if I "Aged it up" with mossy cobblestone and vines it would still have a level of blandness to it. I already had a singular splash of color with the redstone blocks at the top of the columns, but it needed something else. So I googled minecraft forts to see what other people did and many mixed it u with logs and wood. So I decided to do this and tried designing on my creative copy. I liked it so much I began actual work on this survival world right away.
This is just an early shot (more to come), the redstone and spruce steps (upside down) would be all the way around, all doors and windows would have log trim with spruce planks floors inside the towers. I've also had to demolish and re-build the gate towers as they weren't proper circles. As well as that they have to be adjusted as the new tower has a cobble ceiling (Maybe stone eventually?) and a layer of planks on to of it for the next level's floor.
This also opens u a whole new door in rejuvenating the rest, which it needs.
The back lot might also have to have the two layer floor/ceiling so may have to be slightly higher, see how I can add the redstone block pattern to it. As to outside trim with Log - it depends what I can get away with as lava and logs to mot mix. This also has been thought about with some lighting techniques outside using netherrack I have been thinking about with log supports, obviously I have to be careful with logs and fire but I worked out a solution.
Here is also an early wood/redstone/log decoration I've been working on:
With he old column on the right, the wall ended at the to where the redstone block is, so the wall will be at least 3 - 4 blocks higher as well. There are at least 3 other corners that will be having the really big three towers as well.
All of this means a very exciting doom for Mount DOOOOooom, a rejuvenation, a complete overhaul so that in the end the cobblestone is only a back-drop.

This may be the very last post in a while. I'm not sure it's worth continuing to write this journal, shame really as next month would be the announcement of the future 1.9 Adventure plans for when my world hits 5 years. I think people have just got bored with it - and that's fair enough if they have, maybe it's just a good time to quit. So one last update.

DOOOooom Existential Crisis/Rest break from the towers.
So work has been progressing nicely on the new corner towers, the only drawback being waiting for the spruces to grow - even though I planted them at different times. I did forget about the extra large spruce trees you could grow however. Anyway, here's the progress:
However, I hit a point where I couldn't continue, I had a problem. A MAJOR problem...
When designing these new towers and deciding to add spruce logs and planks into the mix, I always intended for the middle twin gate towers to be small in size that the larger end ones. The gate towers being 6 blocks along the main side of the circle, the main towers being 7 blocks and here's where the problem lies. After building them up (Middle gate towers], I never considered the existing front wall joining them. It never even entered my head. With different side widths, the 3 width existing walls was never going to line up from a gate tower - to a main tower on the corner. I tried many solutions, but where it would suit one (Say the join from a gate tower), it would join very awkwardly to a main tower. I could not find a solution after trying several.
There was two answers. Either I make the gate towers 7 width like the main towers - in which case they'd look identical, just stumpier OR I demolish both, and make them 5 width and smaller so the walls in between connecting the gate towers and the main towers connects to both equally.
it is with a VERY heavy heart that I realized I had to knock them down and build them all over again.
It would cost me time but at least I could re-use the materials. The spiral stair cases in both would have to be move also so they were more central to the new circles.
I also decided to make a small 2 x 2 map for the place as I wanted to see it grow and change.
Old gate towers:
New gate towers:
One advantage is the new walls between the towers has gone from the old 3 block thick width to 5 - 6 blocks.
After many days, I decided to take a break from it all and do another little job. Something I have been thinking of for while, and that is to change the bedroom to something more modern and feng shui. This also means instead of one big log window over looking the view outside it would be separated into three ceiling to floor windows, the smaller width length window behind the fake bed also be treated this way. Lots of glass, lots of light! No more brick exterior.
Say goodbye to the old bedroom as it was:
Say hello to something new & improved! (Work in progress):
The previous spare bedroom (With the actual real beds) will become a walk-in wardrobe for wools and dyes and possibly basic leather armor??
The best things of all is, if you look at the bedroom from the outside (Round the back) - as it was; that exterior dirt wall extension around the spare bedroom to fit in with the mountain has been like that for YEARS!!! At last it's getting changed to the white stained clay walls with the big window inserts and it's having the roof from the front side continued round! After all these years it is now a legitimate extension!
Suffice to say I'm about to go back to Mount DOOOooom to continue my work, I have roofs to do! The main corner towers will not have roofs yet however, the towers will continue up but go in by 1 or 2 blocks, so they'll have skinny spire towers for 2 - 3 levels - most likely three, before the roofs and will look rocket shaped. I also need to go in a big redstone mine again. Last time 13 stacks only gave me just under two stacks of redstone blocks.

It'd be cool to see some of your statistics.
Life is a game, if you can't win don't play.

It would, however at... I think it was 1.7, the stats. and achievements became per world, causing them to reset.
So basically, I'm stupid.
This is true, they wouldn't be very accurate or ah honest representation. ;-/

So that is what has been happening lately.
adios amigos!
