Just an idea for a Mannequin- new stand for armor and tools, and, with the right conditions, a soldier. Yes, it is a type of golem, but a balanced type.
Now first, the Mannequin. You can craft it by placing logs in a cross shape in the crafting table, like this
NLN
LLL
NLN
This will be two blocks and a half high, and when placed you can add armor and tools to it. These will show up. But how to animate it? It relies on a new item, the 'Animator Rod'. Made like this (D=diamond, N=nothing, S=stick, Q=quartz)
QDQ
NSN
NSN
Then right click a mannequin to bring it to life. This transforms the Animator Rod into a Control Rod, meaning it can only control, not animate. This will remain still, like a normal mannequin, until either right clicked with an Animator Rod (not turning it into a control rod, as it is already animated) or a Control Rod.
This already animated mannequin will jump off its slab, ready to work. It will attack undead mobs, but will stay where it is when it cannot see any unless you right-click the floor. It will then move that way. You can only control one at a time. Right-clicking their slab will cause it to run to the slab, jump on top of it, and then turn back into a normal mannequin (which can be animated with a control rod, not an animator rod).
'Sleeping' animated mannequins have glowing green eyes, allowing you to distinguish them. Right-clicking a passive or neutral mob will cause the mannequin to attack it if you are holding the control rod.
You cannot select another mannequin unless you order the one you are currently controlling to get back on a slab. They all have only five hearts of health, but can wear any armor and use any tools.
A mannequin slab is a unique material, 'Mannequin wood' - this is linked to the mannequin. Destroying it destroys the mannequin. When redstone power is delivered to it when the mannequin is asleep (and animated) it will come to life as a hostile mob against everything except creepers. They return to their slabs when power stops flowing towards them.
No, Why?
Overpowered.

And the rest of the post I dont understand No Support
It is not overpowered because
1. It will ALWAYS be a lot weaker than the player - an iron golem is much stronger than the average player, and does anyone say that is overpowered? It only has a few hearts, takes 3x fire damage, and you need to give it armor to give it a chance. At a maximun, 40% increase in your chance of winning a fight. And you can only have one at a time - iron golems = several hundred at a time is possible.
2. It is expensive - diamonds and quartz. Meaning you cannot use it until very late in game.
After more than a year, I have the right to bump my own post.

I don't believe you've read the important parts of the post.
