So I had this idea a few years ago, but never actually brought it to the world.
So you know how Fire Resist potions allow you to swim in lava, and walk through the fire n' the flames. That, and you can also use splash potions on other mobs to make them fire resistant too. Well here's an idea I had:
Some mobs, like the Wither Skeleton, and the Ghast, are automatically resistant to fire. My idea is if you splashed a mob that's auto-fire resistant, it will NOT be fire resistant. I can imagine splashing a ghast with a fire resist potion, and seeing it going to take a bath in the lava, and it screaming to death. XD
Well, it'd be kinda like how Undead Mobs are healed by hurting potions and hurt by healing potions. You don't see us using THAt much, now do we?
Yes,but even those ingame mecanics dont give more dept to the game, they dont help at all,the reasons for this to be implemented are weak against the reasons for not adding them.

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move

Think about practical aspects.. Such as enhanced farm designs for nether mobs.

Seems like they would be made worse by this more than anything, considering quite a few farm designs use Lava to move these fireproof mobs.
I can't support this. It doesn't add anything to the game really, it doesn't make sense (positive magic effects damaging the undead is a classic fantasy game trope and healing potions hurting undead are a callback to that), and pushing the mobs into a Lava ocean has basically the same end effect in that mob goes away and you don't the XP or drops

Personally I would've though more of a splash 'frost' potion that when used on lava changes it to something like the magablocks but which revert back to lava after a while..

What do you guys think of my idea? :3
Gotta be honest, not a fan of the idea. Just a bit counter intuitive to me.

I agree with Yoshi in that it seems counter-intuitive. Sure it would be entertaining, but Nether mobs are easy enough to kill so it's pointless.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

So use your fire resistance potion to kill a few monsters that are easy enough to kill already instead of using it on yourself? Seems kinda useless.
Got an unpopular opinion? Want to share it? You can post it right here! Just don't start flame wars and be nice!
