I know this is probably suggested a lot on the minecraft forums, but since we've had so many blocks added to the game minecraft, why haven't there been an increase in the number of slots in our inventory?

Yup.

Because we don't need it. And have chests. And have ender chests. And have donkeys.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
There is plenty of storage as it is, two words: ender chest.

I object, since ender chests are basically chests that is like backup and restore, it only has 27 spaces for blocks and items. You would not be able to add more space to that.
We already have a combined total of 41 readily-available inventory slots: 9 hotbar slots, 27 backpack slots, 4 armor slots, and 1 offhand slot. That's already plenty of inventory space, especially if you regularly return to your base to offload your loot into the vast storage space of the many chests you can make.

Actually make that 37 spaces. You can't store items in armor slots besides armor and elytra.
The inventory is already unrealistic. I mean, how is someone able to carry 20 stacks of cobblestone in his pockets or something? (that's 1280 pieces of cobblestone!) Also, it adds a bit of challenge to the game. "Should I bring this? Or that?" etc.
No Support.

You can most likely find me in the suggestions area of the forums. That's where I spend most of my time.
I actually suggested this a while ago, but I only suggested for creative mode. I don't really support the idea of having like 50 slots in the survival mode inventory. But I would for the creative thing. I mean, I would think it would kind of ruin the game if you did that to survival mode, but when I build things in Creative mode I always have space issues. The least they could do is add 1 more row or something. Because when you build something with a lot of banners and maps in it that inventory space goes like leaves in a fire.
