In 1.9, "The Combat Update" new biomes should be added.
Palm Forest- Palm trees would be the main feature here, dropping palm wood planks, palm saplings, and palm logs. Owls and hedgehogs should be added in this biome. Owls would not be allowed to be killed, but you could shear an owl like a sheep to get 1-4 owl feathers. Throwing an owl feather like an eye of ender would give the player 3 minutes of night vision and "claws" for 3 minutes to kill other mobs instantly. If a player tried to kill an owl, it would deal 20 HP of damage. Hedgehogs would have 10 HP and drop hedgehog feet and 1-3 hedgehog skin. Four hedgehog skins would make leather. A hedgehog skin could be used as protection against creepers. A hedgehog foot would be the main ingredient in Glowing Arrows (a stick, a glowstone dust and a hedgehog foot makes 4 glowing arrows). Palm temples would be another feature, temples made out of palm wood. To get to the loot, players would have to go through 3 rooms filled with mobs- spiders, skeletons and zombies/creepers respectively. A large stone and palm wood (planks) room would be the room of the chest. The loot that could be in this chest would be enchanted books, saddles, diamonds, emeralds, iron bars, gold bars, eyes of ender, and egret feathers (more about those in the Estuary biome).
Estuary- Egrets and herons! Tall cattails, marsh grasses, and bullfrogs would also be in this biome. The Swamp and Estuary biomes would be separate from each other. Cattails would drop 0-2 Cattail Tubers. A tuber would saturate 2 hunger points. Bullfrogs would deal 5 HP of damage if you tried to kill them. A frog net could be made to catch bullfrogs as pets. out of six string and a stick. In the 3 furthest left slots in the 3x3 workbench would be the sticks. The other six would be the string. Egrets would be sheared, not killed (they would deal 8 HP if you hit them), They would drop 1 to 3 egret feathers, used for wing armor. Nine egret feather blocks (4 feathers per block) would make 1 wing armor. Herons would be similar, dealing 6 HP if you hit them. If you sheared them you would get talons, used as armor. Two leather and two talons would form Swoop Pants, pants and boots combined in one (armor). Swoop Pants would enable you to kill mobs quicker.
In 1.9, "The Combat Update" Key word 'Combat' new biomes should be added.
Palm Forest- Palm trees would be the main feature here, dropping palm wood planks, palm saplings, and palm logs. Owls and hedgehogs should be added in this biome Why owls and hedgehogs in a Palm Tree forest? Palm trees are predominantly tropical plants. Neither owls or hedgehogs are tropical. Owls would not be allowed to be killed Why? What is the point of making unkillable mobs?, but you could shear an owl like a sheep to get 1-4 owl feathers That's not how birds work... Throwing an owl feather like an eye of ender would give the player 3 minutes of night vision and "claws" for 3 minutes to kill other mobs instantly Both of these are incredibly overpowered. Also, there are a couple of things which are unclear. What do you mean "throw the feather like an eye of ender"? Do you mean right click it? What is "claws"? Is it another item you get from the unkillable owls, or is it a potion effect? Either way, it's really OP. In the time it would take you to get a bed (get iron for shears, find and shear sheep for wool, usually about 10 minutes), you can get . If a player tried to kill an owl, it would deal 20 HP of damage So you try to kill an owl, you instantly die. No questions asked. 1, That makes no sense, and 2, WHY? WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING AN UNKILLABLE MOB WHICH WILL INSTANTLY KILL YOU IF YOU SO MUCH AS TOUCH IT!! IT'S RIDICULOUS!!. Hedgehogs would have 10 HP and drop hedgehog feet and 1-3 hedgehog skin. Four hedgehog skins would make leather. A hedgehog skin could be used as protection against creepers How? I thought it made leather? Also, again, really OP.. A hedgehog foot would be the main ingredient in Glowing Arrows (a stick, a glowstone dust and a hedgehog foot makes 4 glowing arrows) What are glowing arrows? What do they do? Why would I want them? How OP are they? Why do they require hedgehog feet rather than the far more reliable feathers for fletching?. Palm temples would be another feature, temples made out of palm wood. To get to the loot, players would have to go through 3 rooms filled with mobs- spiders, skeletons and zombies/creepers respectively. A large stone and palm wood (planks) room would be the room of the chest. The loot that could be in this chest would be enchanted books, saddles, diamonds, emeralds, iron bars, gold bars, eyes of ender, and egret feathers (more about those in the Estuary biome) Again, pretty OP.
Bullfrogs would deal 5 HP of damage if you tried to kill them Again with the unkillable mobs which damage you if you touch them!! What's the point? What do they actually add?. A frog net could be made to catch bullfrogs as pets. out of six string and a stick. In the 3 furthest left slots in the 3x3 workbench would be the sticks. The other six would be the string. Egrets would be sheared, not killed (they would deal 8 HP if you hit them) Once again, Why are the mobs unkillable and damaging? It makes absolutely no sense and adds nothing to the suggestion. Also, they deal WAY too much damage. They would drop 1 to 3 egret feathers, used for wing armor. Nine egret feather blocks (4 feathers per block) would make 1 wing armor What is wing armor? What does it do? Why do I want to not kill so many egrets to get it? What's its defense? What kind of armor is it (helmet, chestplate, legs, boots)? Why does it take nine to make rather than the normal amount like every other piece of armor? What's the durability like? It is just made out of feathers, after all. It would be like wrapping yourself in pillows. Herons would be similar, dealing 6 HP if you hit them I'm not even going to say anything. I think I've made My point about the mobs.... If you sheared them you would get talons HOW DO YOU GET TALONS FROM SHEARING A BIRD? THAT MAKES ZERO SENSE!, used as armor. Two leather and two talons would form Swoop Pants, pants and boots combined in one What does this even mean? You can wear swoop pants as shoes? Did you get the size too big and now they drag along the ground? By the sounds of it, you craft them similar to boots, so why are they pants? And again, What kind of protection do they have, Why would I want them? What's the durability? (armor). Swoop Pants would enable you to kill mobs quicker How? What do pants have to do with the speed with which you kill mobs? Regardless, that's pretty OP as well.
All responses are in purple.
No Support, It's far too vague, and to be completely honest, I really hate the idea of mobs killing you when you hit them, especially the owl.
In 1.9, "The Combat Update" new biomes should be added. And this has something to do with Combat because...?
Palm Forest- Palm trees would be the main feature here, dropping palm wood planks, palm saplings, and palm logs. Owls and hedgehogs should be added in this biome A Palm forest isn't exactly the perfect biome for Owls and Hedgehogs. Taiga and Forest Biomes are the answer here. Owls would not be allowed to be killed You can't tell me what to do... , but you could shear an owl like a sheep to get 1-4 owl feathers. Throwing an owl feather like an eye of ender would give the player 3 minutes of night vision and "claws" for 3 minutes to kill other mobs instantly Can you explain what "Claw" does? And why is it that the ability to throw a feather allows night vision. I'm personally against this because it's pretty much a shortcut to obtain a Night Vision rather than brewing it. Therefore, overpowered. If a player tried to kill an owl, it would deal 20 HP of damage That's pretty much a 1-hit kill, Overpowered in a very ridiculous way. . Hedgehogs would have 10 HP and drop hedgehog feet and 1-3 hedgehog skin. Four hedgehog skins would make leather. A hedgehog skin could be used as protection against creepers I really have high dislike for it, once you wear it, you're a Creeper Repellant, this is also redundant because we already have Ocelots that scare away Creepers. Having this makes Ocelots redundant.. The loot that could be in this chest would be enchanted books, saddles, diamonds, emeralds, iron bars, gold bars, eyes of ender, and egret feathers (more about those in the Estuary biome) Are there any other general drops? These are pretty much powerful materials. Infact, you only listed the most powerful materials here. Overpowered.
Estuary- Egrets and herons! Tall cattails, marsh grasses, and bullfrogs would also be in this biome The Swamp and Estuary biomes would be separate from each other That's really not up for anyone to decide. Minecraft's terrain and biomes generate randomly. That's why some people find Deserts and Snowy biomes near each other, I do believe they fixed this problem though. Cattails would drop 0-2 Cattail Tubers. A tuber would saturate 2 hunger points. Bullfrogs would deal 5 HP of damage if you tried to kill them. A frog net could be made to catch bullfrogs as pets For a mob that attempts to kill you, I wonder why I would want one as a pet. This bullfrog is also pretty useless and pointless to have because it has no use unlike other pets we have. out of six string and a stick. In the 3 furthest left slots in the 3x3 workbench would be the sticks. The other six would be the string. Egrets would be sheared, not killed (they would deal 8 HP if you hit them ) , They would drop 1 to 3 egret feathers, used for wing armor. Nine egret feather blocks (4 feathers per block) would make 1 wing armor Still vague. How much durability, how much defence? Herons would be similar, dealing 6 HP if you hit them. If you sheared them you would get talons, used as armor Are you aware that talons are practically the feet of any bird? I don't see how one could make armour out of a bird's talon. Two leather and two talons would form Swoop Pants, pants and boots combined in one (armor) Well which armour slot would you put it in?!. Swoop Pants would enable you to kill mobs quicker So it would give you Haste? Correct? If that's the case, then I don't prefer to have it.
Responses in bold. There are a lot of problems with this thread that I don't even list, but I'll try to summarize it the best I can. Ridiculous, redundant, vague, overpowered and unoriginal. The general idea of the biomes wouldn't even help since this is a Combat update and not the Update that Changed The World. Different parts of your suggestion is unorganized, vague, and useless or pointless to have.
As you are new here, please read this before making a suggestion. It provides a lot of information and what to avoid when making one.
Gosh, this website is very serious lol you guys need to be a bit nicer about peoples ideas,
It's called criticism. We, as the critics, decide if we want to sound nice or strict. Some of us may be harsh, but it's the only way for the OP to be aware of what's wrong with the suggestion and make sure not to make the same mistake again.
People in the suggestions forum take this seriously. And I mean very seriously. A small amount of suggestions (and I mean a very small amount) are added into Minecraft due to their effectiveness, use, support, and popularity. People who want their suggestions to be aware of how suggestions here are made and what is qualified as what.
I find it odd that two people call finding enchanted books, diamonds, saddles, etc in the temples OP because guess what? You can find some or all of those in desert and jungle temples, dungeons, mineshafts (these two in particular aren't very uncommon, I've found literally hundreds of each; here is an example of the loot from just one mineshaft), villages, strongholds, Nether fortresses, etc. Of course, if they had said stuff like stacks of diamonds (or blocks) then that would be another matter, and the mobs sound more challenging than most of the existing structures (e.g. several spawners, or they spawn like guardians).
As for the other stuff, everybody said it already about owls and their drops, and a lot of the rest is redundant or will never be added (maybe, as they once said there would never be new armor or weapons and there are hints that 1.9 will in fact add new combat items, but stuff like bird's feet armor makes no sense).
Also, adding new biomes means changing world generation, unless some trickery is used (it is possible to add a new biome so that it just replaces an existing biome, say 50% of the time, so half the time the original biome is a new one) and even then you'll still have some mismatched chunks if the substituted biome borders existing chunks.
In 1.9, "The Combat Update" new biomes should be added. Why? I mean, it's the combat update.
Palm Forest- Palm trees would be the main feature here, dropping palm wood planks, palm saplings, and palm logs. Owls and hedgehogs should be added in this biome Again, why? They don't fit in that biome. Owls would not be allowed to be killed Ok, this is just ridiculous, why wouldn't you be able to kill a mob? , but you could shear an owl like a sheep to get 1-4 owl feathers. Throwing an owl feather like an eye of ender would give the player 3 minutes of night vision and "claws" for 3 minutes to kill other mobs instantly. Insta-kill = OP, also, why would throwing a feather let you insta-kill mobs? If a player tried to kill an owl, it would deal 20 HP of damage The magic word: WHY? How could and owl kill you by just touching it?. Hedgehogs would have 10 HP and drop hedgehog feet and 1-3 hedgehog skin. Four hedgehog skins would make leather. A hedgehog skin could be used as protection against creepers This vague, any stats?. A hedgehog foot would be the main ingredient in Glowing Arrows (a stick, a glowstone dust and a hedgehog foot makes 4 glowing arrows). Palm temples would be another feature, temples made out of palm wood. Chances for the loot? Rarity?
Estuary- Egrets and herons! Tall cattails, marsh grasses, and bullfrogs would also be in this biome. The Swamp and Estuary biomes would be separate from each other. Cattails would drop 0-2 Cattail Tubers. A tuber would saturate 2 hunger points. Bullfrogs would deal 5 HP of damage if you tried to kill them Another mob that damges me if I touch it and cannot be killed? No, thanks. Ok, I think that minecraft isn't realistic, but some things are just too unfitting, random and OP.

Yes, but there are also a lot of very useless items which can spawn in those chests (rotten flesh, wheat, bones, string etc.) and the more valuable items have a lower chance to spawn. In this scenario, there are no common items to take up the loot pool. It's literally just the things which are the rarest in all other loot pools put together into one. If there were throw away items which had a higher chance of spawning in the chest, then it would be fine, but as the suggestion currently stands, it's very overpowered.

I saw strange things in my life. Like mirors.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

why would this be fun? here I thought I was on the wrong track... No new biomes needed
firstly. As for this night vision/overkill is a bit much... why I could just as easily get a few
odds and ends together and be overpowered already. I'm sorry but no support. try smarter
not harder

I cant agree more Minecraft is fine right now if it get to 10.0 then we will need more biomes but until then we are good

Oh no! Is there anything I can do about that, or is it just broken?
