This is a fairly simple idea. Basically, smelting Stained Clay in a furnace would create Glazed Clay. Glazed Clay would be smooth like Stained Clay and bright like Wool, with a (very) slightly shiny look. (I can't create textures, textures would be appreciated.) Glazed Clay would have the same blast resistance and break time as regular Stained Clay. It would be available in all 16 colors. Regular Hardened Clay could not be smelted.
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!
Good idea. Does this have the same kind of "shine" that polished diorite/granite/etc have?

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

Maybe somebody could create a mod that adds in glazed clay!

Looks good. I like the colors of wool, but hate the granulated texture of it. Inversely, i like the texture of stained clay but hate the false colors of it.
This is a perfect solution to both those problems!

The glazed version would need to be a much deeper color. google some glazed caly pictures and you will understand if you don't aready.
But the OP said he wanted it bright, like wool.

Nah, its more realistic (in a good way!) to smelt it.
Stained clay already needs to be smelted once, so it seems very tedious to smelt it twice for one item.
Although yes, realism is needed in order for things to make sense, Minecraft players will quickly learn that many blocks/variants are made in a 2x2 grid and as such, I find it much more intuitive.

So basically clay with accurate colors?

Also, it's weird, when I see your post, it has no poster name.
Glazed clay would definitely be good. But maybe u could make an image of how it could look like?
I agree, we meen 0% offence!
He just said that he can't make the textures...
OT: I like it. Great way to fix the miscolored stained clay blocks.
I might be able to make good textures, if I could figure out how to correctly apply the shine to the glazed clay.
I also like how it says that DrWeegee is the creator of this thread.

I made a similar suggestion, not as simple but same effect.

That would be great!

I tried...
Anyways, here's a comparison involving the glazed clay example vs. stained clay :

Goodbye.
perhaps instead of smelting clay, you do what granite and the rest of the ites do, make 2x2 to make a polished version. glazed just sounds like a cake
Sorry Sparky, it looks like I stole your suggestion...
Noooo… That forum bug is hilarious, though.
Great suggestion Weegee!
now im startig to think glazed clay can be useful.

He used brown, of course there isn't much color difference. Red or blue would have been more noticeable. Nice wool color, nice stained clay texture.
What's wrong with cake?!?!
