This would probably get more support if they were not called lasers.(or more likely science fiction "lasers") It makes people think about real lasers, not guardian beams.

Support-for the beam they could use the code from the guardian's laser attack but retextured. Definitely add a new sound for the beam (like a scream building up?) Then firing the beam at the peak of the scream.

I don't like this suggestion. What is there other than an annoying Ghast attack? The Nether is fine as it is and we don't need beams.
