They just do not fit... why would there be a ghost? there is already zombie. Rats would be similar to spiders. And to be honest... none of this is scary.
Why would there not be a ghost? I don't understand how rats are similar to spiders and I removed them; that is why the idea is crossed out. I kept it there, crossed out, so people can read it if they want.
Make the FireBright Creeper have a cooldown timer . This way you don't have a *flash* then a *flash* and then another , and the timer for your blindness ... Keeps resetting ... So the second after it blinds you , it blinds you again . The cooldown will prevent that . And a BIG NO to those Soul tools which are :
Extremely fast tools that repair themselves so you'll never need diamond again .
I'll probably add a timer. Also, the soul-infused gear can't replace diamond. A soul-infused sword has to be enchanted with sharpness 4 to be slightly stronger than diamond (7.75 damage with sharpness 4). If you aren't careful, you'll easily break it, too. A soul-infused pickaxe can only mine what a wooden pickaxe can, as well, because that is only what a golden pickaxe can mine. Soul-infused gear can be useful for combat before and after you find diamonds, but like I said, you have to be careful or it'll break.
Since it is close to Halloween, I decided to add a whole bunch of new features to the thread. This includes a new mob, a new potion, new blocks, harder zombies, harder animal farming, and more!
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

These are definitely interesting and unique ideas. However, I do not agree with making Minecraft harder. I suggest you read this well-written thread by Akynth on the matter. I support new features, but not new features specifically designed to make gameplay harder.
Also, a note about nausea: I have heard that people really get sick from that effect, so making it able to be brewed and used against other players may not be a good idea.

I read Akynth's thread, but I still think Minecraft should be more difficult. Unlike what Akynth was talking about, I actually want the game to be hard enough so it is challenging for me, not so I can show off my "mad skills".
I can see what you're saying about nausea. I think I might replace that with blindness.

Exactly, challenging enough for you. The problem is, in order for the game to be more challenging for you, it has to be more challenging for everyone else, including the people who are new to the game. You may have the skills to be able to survive effectively in a world of essentially hostile pigmen, zombies that eat animals, creepers that blind you every 2 seconds, and whatnot, but the people who have just started up Minecraft? They'll likely be turned off to the game as a result, and then they'll quit. If you want Minecraft to be challenging for only one person (you), then rather than impose these challenging gameplay aspects on people who don't necessarily want them, maybe you should look into ways to change only your Minecraft experience. Maybe you can come up with a voluntary challenge to make things harder. Maybe you can find a mod. But "Minecraft is too easy for me" is a terrible reason for a world-wide suggestion.

But it isn't just "Minecraft is too easy for me"; it is "Minecraft is too easy for me and many other people". I get that new players would have trouble against these creatures, but most of this stuff effects you later in the game. Probably by the time you got the basics of the game down.
Story relating to what you said:
When I first started playing Minecraft in late 1.1, I wanted to try playing with my friends. So I went on a hardcore server that had PVP at spawn, only one staff member who never comes on, and tons of hackers. My friends rage quitted because it was too hard. The guy who still didn't even know that the "dirt inside stone" was iron ore wanted a challenge in Minecraft. If it weren't for that dumb server, I probably would've gotten bored of Minecraft almost immediately. I kept playing it until about late 1.3.2.
I like everything else but the new creeper. We don't need 2 hug-loving mobs now do we?
No, we need 3. INTRODUCING HUGGLES!
Huggles is a gigantic pink teddy bear that will hug the player and then explode! If huggles hugs you, you CANNOT escape! Huggles also has 1 million hearts! Huggles drops 1 dirt block upon death!

Yes, many people find it too easy. But the majority of people, the ones that haven't bought the game yet, may find it too hard. Unfortunately, they are the ones who it is most important to appease, because they're the ones that will keep the game alive.
As for your story, all you've demonstrated is that you like hard games. Many people (myself for example) like Minecraft not because it challenges you, but because it doesn't. If you want to fight monsters, you can. If you want to go adventuring, you can. If you want to build something amazing, you can. But everyone who is part of the "Minecraft is too easy" crowd would have you not be able to do anything you like, because you would be too busy dealing with thirst bars, Endermen who teleport Creepers into your house, and farming nerfed to the point where its pointless, among other things.
If you want a hard game, then go find one. Minecraft, though, is probably not going to get harder.
Wait, you said you played it until late 1.3.2... So you're not playing it anymore? And you're still on the forums, making suggestions? Why do you care about a game that you no longer play because it is too easy?

I meant I stopped playing the server in 1.3.2. I still play Minecraft.

Note: This is NOT a wish list. I made all the ideas similar. They all make Minecraft a bit more challenging and most are Halloween/scary themed in some way.
We already had the Pretty Scary Update that added stuff like Witches and the Wither boss. Considering 1.9 will probably not be out for Halloween, November, and possibly this year, but hopefully not as long of a wait as 1.8, I don't think Spooky would be a good theme. I'm pulling for The Seaworthy/ a Pirate/ Ocean theme update. (Ocean monuments and course dirt is not enough.)
Ghost - The ghost is a new mob. It looks a lot like the default character skin, Steve, but it is transparent and has a white tint. If you are on fast instead of fancy graphics, the ghost will not be see-through. Ghosts are passive mobs. They don't even run away when attacked. They instead make the spawn rate of monsters a lot higher in a 20 block radius. The spawn rate goes back to normal when killed. Ghosts can even make monsters in areas that are lit up. However, Ghosts can only actually spawn in darkness. Ghosts float slightly above the ground, but they cannot actually fly around. They are a bit more rare than an enderman is, but they spawn slightly more frequently in abandoned mineshafts. Ghosts have 20 health (10 hearts), just like the player. They rarely drop a soul when killed. Ghosts can spawn on Peaceful, but they do nothing on peaceful difficulty.
I actually kind of like the ghost, aside from the fact they make mobs spawn more, even in light. I'm fine with an increased spawn rate, but in a well lit area? No. I'd rather ghosts be more poltergeist and in mineshafts. (Spawn and attack players that demo the mineshaft for it's blocks (planks, rails, chests, etc) and any ores that spawn in it.) However, being a passive mob that increases mob spawn rates is fine with me. It adds a difficulty factor I guess.
Nether Beetle - The nether beetle is not actually a beetle at all. It looks like a red endermite except with two small, black eyes. It is a parasite. Rarely, zombie pigmen have the parasite on them and that makes them attack the player. If the player attacks back, nearby zombie pigmen that don't have the parasite will attack the player. When a zombie pigmen that had the parasite on them is killed, a nether beetle spawns on the ground. It will try to find a new zombie pigman host and it does NOT attack the player by itself. A nether beetle has 4 health (2 hearts). They drop 0-1 dead nether beetles. Nether beetles cannot spawn on peaceful.
Oh look, something more unique than an endermite. >_> I can't say I'd like the making pigmen attack you unprovoked thing, but surely, this would be a ton more unique than endermites that sometimes pop up when endermen teleport or you use an ender pearl. I don't know about the drop. I mean silverfish and endermites don't drop anything and it sounds kind of dumb. I also don't get how it could be used for a potion of nausea. The name is worse than some of the crappier I could think of, to be honest. (Fiery/ Red) Beetle Husks? (Fiery and Red being optional additions to the item name.)
Rat - Rats are new mobs that spawn near cakes and chests that have food in them. Rats will eat food out of chests and consume cakes. One rat will only consume two pieces of food or one slice of cake at a time. After about 2 minutes, it can eat more. Rats are more likely to spawn where rats are already at. Rats are passive and will run away when attacked. Now, rats cannot spawn in a 20 block radius of a cat unless there are already rats in the area. Cats will kill rats without even being told to by their owner. Dogs will only kill rats if told to. Rats will run away from cats, just like creepers do. Rats have 4 health (2 hearts). They rarely drop a rat tail when killed. Rats cannot spawn on peaceful.
I'm okay with them munching on cake if it's out in the open, but taking food from chests? No. I know you scratched it out, but I'm still going to reply. I'd love to see Rats added, especially underground. I personally feel that like Mo Creatures horses, some of which got added in 1.6, Rats would be a good addition to Minecraft. I'm all for them resembling their Mo Creatures counterparts and being Hostile (about the same size) and climbing walls like they did in the mod. However, I prefer them spawning underground and in swamps and not just anywhere dark or at night.
Firebright Creeper - This new species of creeper is only found in the nether. It is red and does not do any damage when it explodes. Instead, it gives blindness for 5 seconds to players within a 5 block radius. This is because its explosion gives off so much light, it temporarily blinds the player. However, it can explode as many times as it wants to without dying. To keep this from being super overpowered, it has a 2 second cool-down before it can explode again. Firebright creepers can spawn anywhere within the nether. They are about as common as an enderman is in the overworld, a little bit more common. They have 20 health (10 hearts). They drop 0-2 glowstone dust. They do come in a charged form, but you cannot find it without cheating. The charged firebright creeper is exactly like the normal firebright creeper, except it has no cool-down. The charged version could be useful for map makers. This mob does not spawn on peaceful difficulty.
No. I could care less for a "nether" creeper. I don't think every mob needs a variant. I'd rather creepers be one of those mobs without a variant. Also, 2 secs cooldown is not enough imo. Perhaps the charged version could be like that, but I prefer it be closer to 7-10 secs. Either that or the fuse should be longer.. or it should just die like any other creeper that explodes. However, I still prefer creepers to be one of the mobs with no variant or reskin (see Endermite).
Morpher - Morphers are horrible creatures that spawn rarely in the Overworld. They will shapeshift into any nearby creature and act like this creature. When a player gets close, they will attack them like a zombie would. However, they are the speed of a player sprinting when they attack. They spawn like normal monsters do, in darkness. Morphers have the same amount of health as the mob they shapeshift into. They cannot shapeshift into the Ender Dragon or Wither without using cheats. They rarely drop a morpher heart.
Personally, I'd love to see another "shape-shifter" in Minecraft (ie Werewolves akin to Mo Creatures Werewolves), but as for this. No I can't support something like this. I mean if they changed into their true form if the player got close enough, but I still don't like this idea.
Items:
Potion of Nausea - You create these potions by brewing a dead nether beetle into an awkward potion.
Dead Nether Beetle - Dead nether beetles are a new drop from nether beetles. They can be brewed into an awkward potion to give you a potion of nausea.
Soul - Souls are a rare drop from ghosts. 8 souls can be crafted with a gold ingot to give you a soul-infused gold ingot. This ingot is a dark blue color.
Soul-Infused Gold Ingot - The soul-infused gold ingot can be used to make soul-infused gold tools, weapons, and armor. However, this gear is unique. It acts exactly like normal gold gear, but it slowly regains durability over time. So you can get really good enchantments on this gear easier than on diamond gear and it will never break if you are careful.
Infused Tools, Weapons, and Armor - They work exactly like gold gear, but slowly regain durability over time.
Morpher Heart: Morpher hearts can be brewed into an awkward potion to create a potion of health boost.
Potion of Health Boost: You can create this potion by brewing a morpher heart into an awkward potion.
Hey, I'd be happy if Nausea was brewable, though I don't see the connection with the drop used to brew it. I kind of like the idea of soul-infused gold tools as this wouldn't exactly be a new tier, but rather a good fall back tool to keep on you, though stuff beyond an axe, shovel, or hoe sounds pointless. Okay, maybe the sword to if you get like Sharpness V, but can't gold picks not mine anything higher than stone or coal? As for the Health Boost potion, I'd kind of want to see that as well. (I'd rather we get this as a potion than Absorption because one is hearts you have to regen and the other is hearts you get as soon as you get the effect. Absorption is fine for golden apples, not so much for potions imo.) However, as for before, I have trouble with the connection. Most potions have a somewhat decent connection with the item used to brew them.
Blocks:
Zombie Pigman Head - Zombie pigmen now rarely drop their head. They drop their head as rarely as a wither skeleton drops its skull. Their head can be placed like a normal head or worn as a helmet. When worn as a helmet, it makes nearby nether beetles come to you, thinking you'll be a good host. After 2 seconds, they'll realize you are a human and run away, looking for a new host.
Morph Block - The morph block gets the texture of the block to the right or left of it, it chooses a random side. It is crafted with 8 gold ingots around 1 morpher heart. You get 16 morph blocks. This can be useful if you ran out of some material you are using to build your house but have some gold ingots and morpher hearts.
Block of Soul-Infused Gold - A blue gold block. Made with 9 soul-infused gold ingots, like a normal ore block. It has a shimmering effect too, similar to the enchantment effect on a sword, pickaxe, etc.
Infused Anvil: Made like a normal anvil, except with soul-infused gold blocks where you'd put iron blocks and soul-infused gold ingots where you'd put iron ingots. This anvil does break like a normal anvil, but it will slowly fix itself if you don't use it for a while. It looks like a normal anvil, except blue.
I like the zombie pigman head and believe it is needed. However, none of the current heads affect mob behavior and while I kind of wish they did, maybe this is for the best. I'm not too fond of Morph blocks. Doesn't sound too useful to me for the gold you put into it. The last two sound interesting. Block of Soul-Infused Gold sounds like a cool decorative block. However, I don't like the Infused anvil regening. Honestly, I think it should have a passive ability to occasionally not lose durability and be made like a normal anvil, expect with a block of soul-infused gold in place of the center block of iron. (The rest of the anvil's ingredients are iron blocks and ingots.)
Changed Mechanics:
Nausea - Nausea now makes mobs sometimes not notice cliffs and makes them turn slower when they chase you. This is so there is a reason to make potions of nausea in both singleplayer and multiplayer.
Jockeys - There is now a new jockey that can spawn. This is the creeper jockey. It is a skeleton riding a creeper.
Tree Growth - When you grow a tree, it has a 15% chance to grow into a dead tree. Dead trees look like the large oak trees but without any leaves. The tree is also made out of the wood that corresponds to the sapling you planted.
Rust - Iron and chainmail armor loses 10 durability every 5 seconds you're in water, because it rusts. This gives you a reason to choose to get leather armor instead of iron armor at the start of the game.
Hungry Zombies - The virus of the undead spreads! Zombies will now devour pigs, cows, chickens, sheep, and rabbits! They will not kill killer rabbits and they will not turn animals into undead creatures.
Make sure to leave feedback! Feel free to ask any questions you may have or to leave any suggestions you have!
This really is the only list where I don't like anything on it. The only mob I'd really like to see killing animals sometimes would be spiders killing maybe chickens and bats or something. They got to eat something besides players or else they'd die off. Then again, the added Nausea things sound okay, I guess.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.
Why would there not be a ghost? I don't understand how rats are similar to spiders and I removed them; that is why the idea is crossed out. I kept it there, crossed out, so people can read it if they want.
