I'm eleven years old. Most people tell me they doubt it, considering how I word stuff but I guess writing is one of my better hobbies. As a young kid, of course, I took an interest in Minecraft growing up. I think I was around eight years old when I started playing it. Trust me, things were a lot better then. People will say "You're so young, you barely know anything about the good ages of Minecraft" Well let me tell you, these were the good ages to me. It wasn't about being the best at PVP or combat, and there weren't so many changes that ruined the experience for me. I only wish we could go back to the older times when having some crappy name with "PvP" or "HD" or "MC" at the end rarely existed. Plus, people were nicer to each other, even young kids like me were nicer. And I know that from the beginning some people were still rude, but I really miss when you could go on popular Multiplayer servers without getting screamed at by some kid who barely knows what it means to be kind. Basically, the community is full of toxic little kids who ruin the game for everyone, and the updates aren't getting any better in my opinion. It actually makes me sad, because I had fallen in love with Minecraft. I had posters, lots of merchandise, I had it on all platforms, and I was obsessed with it. And I really do want to get back into Minecraft, but it's so hard.
That's no reason to quit a game, the community being toxic doesn't change the gameplay. Make a few good friends and play with them... IF you don't like Minecraft go play Rainbow Six Siege
God, I've had so many bad moments and experiences on this game, I've ruined friendships that I had for months, years. I've began new ones and enjoyed myself with other players who I could talk to, relate to, and laugh with. I've built and had so much destroyed. In the end I could say it was worth it. The old days of Minecraft were truly a grand time that I'd like to go to again.

I'm over 6 times your age and have been playing Minecraft since Beta 1.8 (my daughter in college at the time got me hooked).
I've only played on one server and that was for a short time before it crashed and the entire world and all constructs were lost.
I still play in single player mode and spend time in PC Seeds helping people find worlds that suit their needs or desires.

I love the solitude of single player. No one to annoy me, worry about what they might do, I don't have to put aside my own goals to help anyone. I can just focus on building, exploring, mining, collecting...whatever strikes my fancy each session. The progress in the world is all mine. It's not going to go poof and disappear one day when the server decides to restart the world.

How many of these types of posts are people going to make?

That's why I love single player too, but I've gotten bored of it recently and so I've gotten into SMP (which believe it or not is completely free of toxic and annoying people )

Yeah you got in with a good little community there.

Finally, someone has the EXACT same opinion I do. I don't have Minecraft merchandise, but I loved the game and it was not until last year I got my own account. (I knew about the game since 2012 and always played the xbox version with friends.) Around the time I got my own account (January 2015) it seems that Minecraft's decline started. I am much older than 11 but feel the same way about the game. Also, it's not just toxic kids who have ruined it. it's anyone who wanted the game to be more challenging and Mojang only listened to them and nobody else. It looks like it will stay this way and only get worse as the game gets farther away from what it was originally about and turns more and more into a hard combat game. I mostly quit after the 1.9 update and seeing how mojang is paying NO attention to anyone but whoever wants the game to have harder combat. The reason this causes "bad" players to join is because about 99% of the new players are kids who want to FIGHT not BUILD and in turn they are in general just meaner.

What are you talking about?
That was the combat update. As far as I'm concerned, 1.10 did nothing related to combat, and for the very few features we know about 1.11, there hasn't been mention of anything related to combat there, either.
Minecraft is a game without a true purpose. There is no "gets farther away from what it originally was" because there is no true "Original" purpose. It was a creative sandbox game that Notch made for fun, that's it. Combat mechanics were added to expand upon an outdated and commonly ignored core part of the game. Not to make it a Combat game.
Anyways, these rants come up from time to time, most of them are just generally small issues that don't even exist to the extent of which they're claiming to be, or it's just personal issues because one very minor thing ticked them off and now is "The end of Minecraft".
Well first off they are little kids are you really going to make a big deal out of that and if you dont like the new versions then just go back to the old updates like 1.6.4 but just to let you know with every update our mods gets more realistic. But dont quite or anything like that.

Hmmm, maybe Mojang is listening to more than that. They have been working on easy modding, map building AND combat recently.
What do you mean by "toxic kids ruined it"? You've stopped playing Minecraft because of people that you describe as toxin? This makes no sense. :X

If you want the old days of Minecraft back, load an older version and play on an old world and have fun. =) Other players won't change your single-player experience.

I still play CS:GO, if you'd like to talk about toxic communities.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
If you don't like the community just go on single-player or find some good friends. The community doesn't change the game
Got an unpopular opinion? Want to share it? You can post it right here! Just don't start flame wars and be nice!
