I know a kid with his own ipad. He's 8, and is bottom level in every subject in school. He is very spoiled, and is a bully who gets away with everything.
Most annoying, rude, and arrogant type of person. Plain mean, usually. Very un-like-able.
But it does make that griefing okay? In my opinion, just because someone is not polite to you, gives you no reason to be impolite to them.
IMO someone who griefs/steals from you is up for at least a raid. Maybe not a big build, but a small farm maybe, just for you to live and rebuild. Only if necessary i think.

Yeah he deserves it is he only way griefers learn not to mess with other ppl unless you are on PVP which is absolutely comprensible.

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move
Um.. Because it's HILARIOUS. Since I am better at PvP than the above average, I just blow people's houses up and kill them... Griefing is what I like to do most in Minecraft. Find somebody, pretend to be their friend, set up a trap, steal everything, kill them, then build something obscure so that when they respawn they ragequit. When they don't come back for another week, I find somebody new to troll.

Until you get griefed, thats when you will be the first one to beg to the admin for help thats why i hate them because they make you bad but when you do something to them they are the ones that cry most.

Yes, I was thinking the same exact thing. Even if this user personally isn't like this, it's true for most griefers that think the same way.
It's only funny until it happens to you.
Also: There is no such thing as a "better Minecraft pvper" All you have to do is have better armor and get the first hit, then you win.
It's quite opposite for me actually. See, they attempt to attack me back, but the fact that I took everything from the before hand makes it kind of hard. Also, my factions base is in a massive hole in the ocean all the way down to bedrock with 6 layers of obsidian with crafting tables surrounding the outside layer. Over top of this it is claimed with my 35 faction members, which I am the owner. Also, I could honestly care less if they grief me. It is only a video game, so I don't ever get upset about it. If they raid me, I simply say good game, then plot to kill them again.
Saying that all griefers cry when they themselves get griefed is stereotyping, like saying all blondes are stupid. I grief with style. I plan out everything before hand and leave with everything they own.
Well. Long story short, I let a guy on my plot, which was a diner with a roller coaster going through it that I built. He griefed it. Aaaaaand I took it out on the whole rest of the server. And other servers. I have idea. Griefing time!

I have a question, do you grief people who are completely new, and barely have (Maybe) parts of iron armor, or who are pretty close to evenly matched to you?
That's the difference between a jerk and a griefer.

well thats why i tend to not give confidence to anyone i dont know on real life, or at least on facebook, going back to the topic i am sure you woul ask for admin help if you get griefed(excludes PVP)everyone does but is the way they call for help.

My question here is why do the people who dislike being grief not play in servers which have counter-griefing measures (CoreProtect, WorldEdit, Plot Plugin)?

A trauma caused by the fact that your creation was destroyed is just ridiculous, even if you have a real painting and someone destroys it you wouldn't be traumatised unless your physical strength is non existend.
Nowhere in my post did I say or imply that there were not a lot of people who like PVP. When describing what the "main thing" of a game is, I usually defer to the game's creator - who, in this case - states on their website: "Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks. At first, people built structures to protect against nocturnal monsters, but as the game grew players worked together to create wonderful, imaginative things." (source Minecraft website)
Also, I specified "emotional trauma" - not physical. See definition - "Traumatic experiences often involve a threat to life or safety, but any situation that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and alone can be traumatic, even if it doesn’t involve physical harm. It’s not the objective facts that determine whether an event is traumatic, but your subjectiveemotional experience of the event. The more frightened and helpless you feel, the more likely you are to be traumatized." (http://www.helpguide.org/articles/ptsd-trauma/emotional-and-psychological-trauma.htm)
If a server is set up as a no-hold's barred PVP environment and is clear about that to any prospective new member joining, then I would say that griefing on that server is not possible. However, ruining someone's creation on a server when they have not been clearly told in advance that would happen is, at the very least, deceitful... and since most griefers seem to enjoy inciting a "reaction" out of their victims, they don't tend to forewarn the other players when they join the server.

Back when I was a creative server admin, when I ran into a griefer I would laugh (in chat), tell him that I can roll him back EXTREMELY easily, ban him, and erase every single action he ever did on the server with one command.
Leadership is not based on control or dominance... people follow great leaders voluntarily because they respect them. Despots don't lead, they terrorize. Also, I think the destruction comes from a feeling of not having sufficient control over whatever/whoever... so they opt to destroy or harm it to try to gain more control over it.
Leadership is control and dominance. You are, by definition, leading. They are, by definition, following. You have control over them. Despots lead in what can be considered an efficient, but morally wrong manner. You can feel good through dominance without having to be hurtful.
Destruction does not stem from feeling a lack of control. It's that they want control. Even if they have control, if they have problems, they'll want more control. It's why people whip/beat slaves or servants. The positive "switch" is addictive for them.
It's quite opposite for me actually. See, they attempt to attack me back, but the fact that I took everything from the before hand makes it kind of hard. I was once on a faction server and my faction only had 3 people in it. Me and my brothers. We became the most hated faction on the server because of how we could raid 30 people super factions and super donator factions. Nobody could raid us though because our base was literally unbreakable without the use of a super expensive command. A faction eventually got into our base (by spending millions of in game money), only to find that it had very little in it as my faction kept its raw resources in a place that could not be found. We repaired the base and went on with our lives.

There needs to be more players out their with your type of attitude. Nowadays, 'Good Sport' is no longer even a thing.
Although I have a very strong distaste to people like you, I have my soft and fair side to know a player's true and pure motives.
