So the rumors were right. The coder responsible for tinted glass, lighting bugs fixes, rabbits and many other thing fans were asking since forever is no longer a Mojang employee. It's unclear whether he's been fired or if he quit, but for sure the team has lost a big player and is, again, reduced to 3 full-time coders with only modding experience (Holtz had some actual experience in the professional gaming industry) and a leader which has to share his time between multiple projects.
So that's Microsoft's plan, eh? Fire them off, one by one!?
Nope, its mojang being incompetent as usual. "Hey jeb, we should really fix these bugs, the game is getting really unstable!" "Naaaaah! Lets just add another rushed-in block that serves no real purpose and players won't care about in the slightest!"
I'm not sure what a mojang member leaving has to do with incompetence or adding a slime block.
I'm saying he either left or was fired for some silly reason by mojang, hence them being incompetent, which they have been for years (since 2011-2012). You were saying microsoft is gonna fire them off one-by-one in your earlier post, I'm telling you otherwise.
You're just saying that mojang is incompetent, that has nothing to do with microsoft firing them or not. I doubt mojang fired them, I don't think they're that stupid.
They were stupid enough to royally fail to fix what was relentlessly begged to be fixed by many, MANY fans for over 2 years. AKA: The terrain and 1.7. Yeah, I think they are more than just incompetent...
You're right though, mojang didn't fire him, he just left out of sheer frustration with mojangs incompetent ability to run a business and properly develop a game. So yeah, it has everything to do with microsoft firing them or not. He left 'cause mojang is an incompetent business. Or I am just looking to start an argument... That too...
How about we just agree that we don't know what happened, and not blindly bash microsoft/mojang on claims with no evidence?

If that is in fact a real, unaltered image, then, jeez.
His behavior hadn't appeared to have been triggered for any truly sensical reason. It's shocking to see one who works for Mojang act with such hostility against the community.
Holtz had some actual experience in the professional gaming industry
So he does. Could have fooled me.
He seemed like a bit of a loose cannon. I know I'd personally have problems working with somebody willing to publically call me or other members of the development team stupid and then state that they hope some people would die of brain cancer.
Also: Though I'm unsure who implemented Stained glass, all the rendering engine changes that made it possible were Grum's work. Lighting bugs were primarily dealt with via that rendering rewrite, Though I expect the fiddle-fixes were dealt with by the entire team. Rabbits are cool... at least now that they aren't a Tamable.
Edit: Brilliant. Warned for a quotation. Though I suppose I shouldn't expect much from a community built around a Java game.
in short, he was a liability to mojang pr wise. it seems he got himself fired for his behaviour
How do we not know this image was altered, or that the person in question was nicknamed as an imposter? This could just be something a user made in word-pad for all I know! I'd like to see additional sources please, or at least a link to the imgur page for that picture.

over his time at mojang he's managed to offend a lot of people in mojang, and in the minecraft community, and go on childish rants on his official twitter page, and in irc. not something you should be doing as an employee of a company you represent.
the really weird blog post about the EULA sums up his attitude.
and another reason to prove minecraft and mojang are going down hill...

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed

1. No one knows if he was fired. All we know is he no longer works for Mojang.
2. If he was fired, it was not by Microsoft. Microsoft CANNOT fire Mojang employees. That isn't how the buyout works.
Do not accuse people lightly Spacious, you wouldn't want someone to tarnish your name would you (Treat others the way you want to be treated and all that)?

Wonder what happened.. We will probably find out soon but no information is being given from Mojang currently.
And i dont even play minecraft anymore.
They have other ones.

He's generally a very rude person with a short fuse who has been known to insult fans and other moajnsters alike.

If only i could change my username
That happened more than 1 year ago. The timing is suspicious, to say the least.
Assumptions, assumptions...

I find that picture very hard to believe.
He apologized for it:

One doesn't tend to apologize for things a imposter or person using your nickname does.

the guy was a liability, who was lucky they let him stay for as long as he did.

I'm not sure I agree that removing demonstrably toxic employees can be considered anything but a positive change in the long run.
