Has minecraft become too easy? All you have to do is dig down 3 blocks and cover it up and you can live for eternity! This must change. I realize that minecraft has a goal, but...besides that it doesn't take much to survive. What's the point of making a giant fortress to protect yourself? There is nothing to be protected from! (Besides the occasional creeper) Caves are EXTREMELY easy to find and contain tons and tons of ores! I am aware that the modding community make mods to satisfy us but what really matters to me (and mabey you) is vanilla Minecraft and how we play it!
Please do not complain that Minecraft is a sandbox game and that it doesn't matter that it is easy! I know that! This is about the "Survival" aspects of the game!
I mean look at this! You walk into a cave and you can get more than enough ores to satisfy you for days!
And look at this! Caves are easy to find wherever you go! You don't even have to search for them!
The caves in Minecraft are so clear that you can spot a creeper with no eye strain at all!

For people who love the survival aspects of Minecraft, we need a way to make it so its less easy while keeping the game fresh and fun! (Mods is not the answer!)
Go ahead and dig down 3 blocks, place a block above you and stick down a torch. Then sit there. Go ahead, keep on sitting. No, no, you're winning the game! Don't move! You're bored? How can you be bored? You're pwning teh game! You want to go exploring and fight monsters and go to the Nether and the End? Ridiculous! You're just fine sitting in a hole! Now you're getting out? You're going to go out there? Why would you stop winning the game? WHY?
I've been playing Minecraft since 09 and now when I start a new world on hardcore, I don't have the fear of dying. None of the mobs pose a real threat and I can have a house and wheat farm going in less than 2 mc days.
I've been searching the mods section trying to find some sort of hardcore mod that still feels like the vanilla minecraft (not hardcore custom maps), but makes me actually struggle to survive. I haven't played MC much in a few months because of this.
The hardcore mode really needs to tend to the better players of this game and give them a real difficult experience. Disabling the fire spread nerf isn't enough since some of us don't even use fire, so that doesn't add much to the survival aspect. When you think of "hardcore", you think of insane difficulty and fighting for your life. hardcore is just like normal MC with one life..

I see way too many people say "well build something" or "give yourself a challenge". That doesn't make the game harder. That gives you an objective that doesn't have a real reward when you're done. When you play survival, you're playing to survive. That's the objective of that mode. When you crank up the difficulty, it doesn't feel like anything has changed. Depending on what setting you're on, easy or hardcore. There needs to be more dramatic changes to the gameplay. Like mob health, respawn rate, and damage for a small example.
Mincraft is fun and all, but yes, I do think it needs a little more challenge. Stuff like "The Wither" and the new mobs Minecraft is planning to release sounds like they are trying to do just that.

I think they're working on making it a bit harder, which I like.

That's literally impossible, as you can only go to the End by crafting Eyes of Ender.

I think that Minecraft should add a temperature bar. If it gets to hot you die of heat stroke... it'll go up when your in the nether, deep underground, or in a desert. If it gets too low you will freeze to death... it will go down when your in the end, high up in the sky, or in a snow biome. You can keep warm by setting a fire or making a jacket (wool in armor patterns). you can keep cool by drinking water, swiming, or wearing a ventilated suit (water bottles in armor patterns. If your a modder and your reading this, TRY TO MAKE THIS A MOD!!! THIS IS AND EPIC IDEA!!! THIS COMBINED WITH THIRST MOD WOULD MEAN THE MOST EPIC SURVIVAL EXPERIENCE!!!!!
