I'm sure I'll be answering/shooting down my own question here but, is there ever going to be a possiblity to create your own skins? Like some sort of online feature that you could upload to your gamertag after an approval or perharps an editor in game? I would LOVE this!
And here is where I shoot down my own idea....
But if they did that, then they would no longer make money selling skin packs....
Not in the conventional sense..... However since the people skins are in pieces anyway...
It could be possible to mix and match type of editor for what you bought and own. There will more likely never be an actual fine detail skin editor though...

Well that can't be a reason, or else the entire game is copyright if someone makes anything in the likeness of something not owned or licensed by microsoft.
The answer is no. If we were given a full skin editor someone is bound to make a Mario skin, which is copy written by Nintendo and therefore would never be allowed.

Yes it does. How is making a custom skin, usable only by the player that made it , any different than someone who makes mario pixel art in their world?
If you looked at it like that, then if someone made a mario skin and is running Minecraft on a PC through Microsoft Windows, using a skin editor is considered copyright, yet it is allowed.
