So since the last update contained some very big pieces for multiplayer focused play I was wondering what you all might
think on how 4J will approach the next big update.
I personally think the updates will continue to contain bits of 1.7 and 1.8. I also think 4J will be steering clear of doing
any type of massive update since the last massive update caused so many bugs.
What do you think? Will 4J continue to be cautious when updating or will we see a more daring release of 1.7 and
1.8 in their full extent? The bugs have been mostly worked out and 4J said they wouldn't do another big update until
they had a majority of the bugs fixed.
I also want to get your take on how serves/realms would impact gameplay for each of you.
For those who may not know, servers will allow a world to be constantly available even if the owner is offline
and realms will allow cross-platform play between ps3, ps4 , xbox 360 and xbox one. Eventually pocket edition
and any potential nintendo edition whether it be wii u, 3ds or nx. The only odd man out is ps vita since it can only
support up to 4 players due to RAM limitations.
I have a question... This last bit doesn't seem to really compute - the PS Vita, PS3 and the Xbox 360 all spec out at 512 MB RAM plus the PS Vita has 128 MB VRAM. Would you please explain.
I don't see 4J changing the way they have always approached Updates.
They always follow-up a new content release with bug fixes. Nothing different this time around.

What does this even mean? Do you think 4J will opt instead to release, say, one biome/feature each update a few months apart, interspersed with bug fixes, all to avoid a "massive" update that may contain numerous bugs? That's not the most efficient method, IMO.
What I think...
Hmm. I think this last update, TU25, was a precursor to the update that actually gives the 1.7 biomes. Despite what some have said, tu25 actually had a lot of content, mostly aimed at map-making and Creative mode. I've secretly come to call it The Adventure Update. It also contained some significant changes to the main menu UI, which could be seen as a way to make it easier to implement changes later (like tabbing over from "local" games to "server" games, if that ever becomes an option).
I think the next Content update will bring the console to 1.7.x with some 1.8 features pulled forward. And Yes!, this is the same prediction I made prior to TU25, but I admittedly had much higher hopes. I'm really pleased that Written Books have made it to console, though, so this last update was worth the wait for me. If only it contained custom Spawner Blocks...

I haven't done a whole lot of research into ps vita but from what I understand the vita has very strict limitations due to a lack
of RAM or something to that extent. I'll do some research and post up the exact reason.

All I'm getting is "a lack of memory".

We also want Infinite Worlds from Realms since it's all handled by server like on PC and Pocket Edition.
There won't HDD save size then.
