I didn't find anything on this after searching a while so here goes. I'm posting this on behalf of my kids and don't know much about MC. We have 3 controllers and they are not able to look around with the right directional and can only move with the left (front, back, side/side) with two of them. The controllers work fine on other games, and they have one controller that works fine on MC.
We have tried turning the console off and on, resynching controllers, new batteries.I saw a lot of references to controllers given the fact the game was ported from PC. So I thought I would ask. They're driving me nuts about this because I can always fix their problems with the xBox. But not this one. Any ideas?
I had the exact same problem! I wasn't able to move my character's camera. We tried resetting the console and the controllers. Finally we tried to go on my account and reset the everything to default and then made a new world and it fixed the problem. I hope that will work for you.
I almost found the reason of the problem. This problem is with xbox live accounts.
You can solve the problem by creating another profile (mustn't be xbox live). But don't forget to transfer worlds between profiles (if you have any question about that, ask it).
No need to muck about with switching profiles... just go into "Help & Options" - "Settings" - "Reset to Defaults" (using the profile(s) that has/have been affected. It works... it is also what 4J recommends doing.
Transferring worlds between profiles involves use of an unauthorized third-party software and, as a result, goes against Xbox Live's Terms of Use. People should be also made aware that discussing using such 3rd-party software here also goes against the TOS of this forum... so they shouldn't ask the question here.
I just had this happen to Remote 1, and Remote 2 was working just fine. I googled for help, and this thread came up, but there was no solution.
We thought the remote was broken and went to buy a new remote. The new remote had the same issue, so we knew it had to be a setting somewhere. We checked the settings on each remote (in the game) and discovered the sensitivity on the remote 1 had been changed to 0%. We changed it back to 100% and then it worked!
Thank you so much! I tried updating the game and decided to cancel in the middle of it. I realized then that the game reverted to TU1. I had plenty of stuff from later updates, so I decided to update. Some time later, I noticed that Minecraft was all wonky. I followed your instructions, and it was fixed! Thank you so much!!!
I had this problem too and i tried to reset the controls too defualt and it didn't work but then when i chose settings instead and chose reset to defualt it worked! Too get there go to your start menu in your world then Help and options and you should see a settings button you can choose and click reset to default! I also saw that my screen was really dark at the same time so it fixed that as well! See if it works for you before trying to switch accounts

Controls are set to default in Minecraft, don't really see anywhere to reset to defaults from system menus.
Tried making new world, changing to different layouts in Minecraft, deleting consoles cache, and re-syncing controller so far with no luck.
EDIT -- controller works fine when I switch to another account as mentioned above :|
EDIT2 -- Ah ha! In Minecraft, Help & Options -> Reset to Defaults
Thanks! Whew

I have the same problem but i found the answer. I went to the control options and look for the sencivility options anda i found that in was on 0%
now you now it. If you have that problem change the sencivility
I had this problem and I found that my game sensitivity setting was at 0% and I set it back to 100% which fixed it.
