Below are some ores and refined blocks. Differentiation takes time, which I will soon have significantly less of, as summer work starts Monday. Would people be opposed to having purple lapis? What about purple coal? To which option are you all less opposed? As I texture the rest of 'em I will edit this post. Stay tuned.
Also: I just looked at your door, Angelo, and shivered at the thought of me needing to do mine. So much to do.
Edit: Added iron ore and previously posted grate
Changed emerald shape to be more crystalline
Drew different diamond texture; replaced old with Lapis coloration
Looks great, malcolm, I really like how it turned out - especially the plants. They look super fluffy and sweet!
I haven't posted anything for a fair while now but I've still been working on it. I've kinda been doing my own thing and not the specific blocks we were supposed to be doing though... I think all I have left are the nether blocks before my pack is properly contest ready though.
I might post some pics of the new things later or I might not, gonna be reinstalling windows so I'll probably have a lot of other stuff on my mind.
I'm probably not going to continue on with this contest. I haven't textured anything and weeks and don't really feel like texturing. I have a different pack I'd rather work on anyway but it has no palette or anything. And I've been working on things like programming.
You all did a great job IMO, I'm probably gonna download all of the submissions they're so good.
Malcomb, I really love the ore blocks and bed! It's great how you make different textures flow together by using the same type of brush.
Looks great!
You using biome colouring still or are you disabling it? I'm still not sure which I want to do for mine, can't get exact colours with colouring but also no variety without it...
Been ages since I've posted anything but I have still been doing stuff on my entry. Here are some in-game pics of random things. I've got a few models for things like the bed, reeds and iron bars and I'll be having models for trapdoors and the doors that need them too. I've redone a few older textures I felt didn't fit too well and I've just started netherrack which should be all I need to make my entry contest ready. Only a couple of weeks left now!
I actually made these about a week ago, but forgot to post anything about it.
OK, yes, I know I need to do something with the crafting bench and piston tops since the oak wood uses virtually the same palette as the stone. It's on my list of things to fix after the contest. No need to tell me it looks bad, I already know.
Also, that grass is WAY too bright and happy for this pack. I'm going to have to substitute a much less saturated shade after the contest is over and I'm not restricted by the palette.
@Malcolm - Thanks for pointing out the single-pixel details in the negative space of the leaves. I hadn't even thought about it. I did correct it, but have not included it in this screenshot. Still, greatly appreciate it!
Also, apologies to everyone for the lack of commenting. I've been busy, sick, exhausted, or in a bad mood for the past month or so. This is also why this is my third update for a contest that's ending in about two weeks. Yea... kinda doubt I'm going to get my entry finished.
It would help if I knew exactly which blocks I needed to do rather than broad categories can be stretched to include about half the blocks in vanilla...
Well I'm bummed. This is exactly what I needed to get back into creating resource packs, and I've nearly missed it by this point. The packs look great everyone!
Unless this contest gets a fairly substantial time extension (and it shouldn't be since it's already been a fair amount of time), I can safely say that I'm going to be bowing out. My main art computer (my laptop) died a few days ago from total hard drive failure. Fortunately all of my artwork is backed up, but I can no longer work on the pack in comfort as a result.

Best wishes to all who remain in this.
If you can access that backup, you should still enter! Seems like you've got a ton of stuff done... as much as everyone else, at least.
Minus the crafting items, which I'm going to try and churn out in the next couple days, does my pack look complete enough to enter?

Yea I still have it, but I'm only about half way through with the requirements. That's sort of the problem. Since I need to devote my time to trying to get money together to try to get a new laptop, not to mention all of the other things I need to do this week, I won't be able to finish the other half of the required textures.
109 block textures complete and nothing to show for it.
The amount of textures you have is close to mine, 130. Maybe you'll be allowed to enter, Fuzzlechan hasn't been too strict on the rules earlier in the competition and from the low amount of activity in this thread over the last couple weeks there may not be many entries.
If Fuzzle says I can enter with what I've got done, I'll enter. Not sure if that's fair to everyone who's actually put the work in to get their packs up to the stated standards, but that's not my decision to make. So yea, if given the go-ahead I'll post what I've got for an entry.
Everything in the pack fits to XSSheep's original palette, except for the sun and moon textures (which include pure black), and the foliage colourmaps (which contain pure white). I'll probably add some purples and maybe an orange or white eventually, too.

More stuff.
I'm not too happy with the oak, birch, jungle or dark oak leaves, but there aren't enough shades of green to just recolour the spruce and acacia ones.
Added some stuff. Thoughts?
Looks cool! I like the style you have going here.
@deonyi: I like what you have done with the dirt, but your various brick textures could do with a bit more visual interest.

Awww, so cute those torches! I love all your blocks, especially the plants. However, what is the 'snout' on your furnace supposed to be?
more,
btw, this is not my finished pack! still a wip

Hooray! Pretty flowers are blossoming everywhere. Left to do are some ore blocks, nether features, and a host of wood tiles.
Edit: Added gravel and oak leaves; updated side and tall grasses
I actually made these about a week ago, but forgot to post anything about it.

There are more textures other than these blocks, such as the sun and moon. Custom colours have been added, through MCPatcher.

Marvellous Drazille; that really looks absolutely spiffing.
I suppose I might have done enough to qualify? If not, it doesn't really matter at all.
I must ask the lovely community whether someone would be able to take the needed screenshots, as Minecraft isn't working for me right now.
