I have an issue with leaves. They show up with green or orange boxes around them. I am using the 1.8 resource pack with Optifine on 1.8. Is there a fix or is there something I need to do? Thanks
I have tried the Conquest pack maybe 3+ times now and you guys doing the editing sooooo need to do something with that water block. See through grungy gray?? C'mon??? Water should be the most beautiful block in Minecraft besides the diamond!! "Hello"
Please please do something beautiful and cool with that water block. Not something that looks like ashy water...bleh~~~~
I tried Conquest again over the weekend. My mind is very visual. So for me it is back to John Smith's texture pack.
But I would LOVE to use Conquest. Yes, one block does matter.

As I mentioned in my above post, I love the way Conquest looks, but I find it difficult to decide to actually use it because
the 1.8 version has some bugs; like 3 of the carpets (animal hide carpets; light gray, white, and brown) do not currently work because 1.8 no longer uses metadata in the MC engine. Also, the dark oak doors have metadata that allows them to look rounded, but they also don't work right in 1.8. The third bug I have found is that most of the flowers don't show up properly when placed in pots. And the fourth bug I found is that the lightmap produces a really distracting flickering in any dark area, this is mostly noticeable indoors in dark areas and especially outdoors at night because the whole visible area of a world will flicker. The fifth bug I found is that Endstone, when using Optifine looks like a wooden crate. Without using Optifine (using Vanilla), it actually looks like Conquest-textured Endstone. The sixth bug I found is that I noticed in extreme hills biomes, the cobblestone block has a stone brick top texture. In other biomes it's fine though.
I know how to temporarily "fix" some of these bugs because I have tried it. For the metadata animal fur carpets you just delete the metadata textures so that it will revert to the wool texture for the three bugged animal fur carpets. And for the lightmap flickering I tried just deleting the Conquest lightmap, thus reverting it to default lightmap which IMO is better, and it stopped flickering after that.
Those are just temporary fixes that I did to test it though; and obviously there is a better way to do it.
Monsterfisher, it would be nice if you could fix these bugs with the Conquest 1.8 pack to make it more playable. It's not fun to have to ignore certain blocks because of bugs, because then it makes me not want to use Conquest at all. Otherwise I would really love to be using Conquest.
I would recommend just making new textures for the white, light gray and brown carpets to replace the bugged metadata animal fur ones, fix the flowers not showing up in flower pots (currently I've found that only blue orchid, allium, and I think either azure bluet or oxeye daisy show up in the pots correctly), get rid of or fix the custom lightmap as it just flickers very fast and is distracting, make a new texture for the dark oak door as it does not work because of metadata, and fix the endstone for Optifine and the cobblestone block top texture for extreme hills biomes, (it may be bugged in other biomes too, idk though).
I realize that we could just use the 1.7 version which is probably a lot more usable and bug free; but then you have to revert your game to a previous version of MC and sacrifice all the new 1.8 features which also wouldn't be too fun.
Anyway, just wanted to chime in and let you know my thoughts on the 1.8 pack. This is just my bug report for you and a bit of my own personal opinion as well. Obviously you don't have to fix any of these 1.8 bugs if you don't really want to. It's your resourcepack and you can do what you want with it. I also realize that it is a LOT of hard work to make a high quality resourcepack, and I really really appreciate the true artists such as yourself whom are capable of making packs like this; I have tried to make textures myself and I find it to be extremely difficult.
However, 1.8 bugs aside, Conquest is IMO one of the best looking resourcepacks, a real work of art that adds so many possibilities for building in MC; but if you could fix the 1.8 bugs it would be a perfect pack in my opinion.

you understand that the only bug here is the big hill biome ones and maybe not ever. all the other are in no way Conquest related. go and bug optifine maintainers in their thread.

I have been playing Minecraft since September 2012. It's my favorite game of all time.
If the metadata returns as biomespecific, would be there any way we could make different textures for the same blocks that are one over the other?
No, biomes are colums, they go from bottom to top. So there is no way to get two different biomes in the same colum, that's also the reason monster already disliked using them. :/
so I ran into a slight problem I downloaded the resource pack set it up installed optifine even tried mc patcher but nothing works to get the meta data in 1.7.10 to work the leaves still say I need to get optifine when its already installed and the other extra textures in the dirt and all that aren't showing up I have my graphics set to fancy and all particles idk what to do.

Went to download last night and gave me an hour wait time lol..
well im excited to see this hell sky, and excited for biome alternative water.
So with the results of the pole, will we be getting a bunch of textures from the discontinued system implemented into biome specific?
So I just tested some of the new biome specific things, the snow in hell or sky biome doesn't change to "ash" it remains as snow
So I keep having this problem with the pack. Using the latest version of OptiFine in 1.8.1, leaf blocks and the player's textures are totally bugged.
Screenshot.
Your problem is you NEED fancy graphics on for it to not bug out. Blame Mojang's anti-xray stuff in 1.8.

Hello, I make a mod pack called Technofirma, and I would like to include the Hyms of Conquest in it. May I have permission to due so?
It should be fixed (head)
Just add our fixed rail
The player head is supposed to be a chest, it's for decoration.
so i just started using th pack today and i really love it but im having a weird issue
see here
http://imgur.com/HJOQ2fv
im not sure what is causing it, i have tried to change all of the settings... its only happening to some of the grass textures
when i pull up f3 it calls it minecraft:tallgrass Type: tall_grass.. however not all of the tall grass is doing it
UPDATE:
so i tried turning off alternative textures, which got rid of all of the pink/black boxes on the grass.. but not normal rails are entirely boxes
I tried many graphic configurations but the trees still look like that
In 1.7 it was skin and decoration
so I ran into a slight problem I downloaded the resource pack set it up installed optifine even tried mc patcher but nothing works to get the meta data in 1.7.10 to work the leaves still say I need to get optifine when its already installed and the other extra textures in the dirt and all that aren't showing up I have my graphics set to fancy and all particles idk what to do.
