Hi, I have a Feed The Beast Infinity server running 1.7.10 which now is having a wrong located chunk. When I start the server I get this after a while:
I've tried Region Fixer v0.1.3 and v0.2.0 without luck. When scanning the world with v0.1.3 I get this:

And when running v0.2.0 I get this:
I've tried deleting the region file "-1.0.mca" and then the server runs fine, but everything we had built is gone. Is there any possible solution to the problem I'm experiencing?
It looks like the problem is that python ends up out of memory while scanning that region file. This is a known problem with python and 32bits when there is a "too many entities problem" somewhere (note: I'm pretty sure your system is 64 bits, but the executable you downloaded is not).
If I am correct, you can scan the region file using regionfixer source code and the python interpreter (for 64bits systems). You can give a look to this:
I'm sorry to say that I have no idea what multicraft is and I don't know how to set regionfixer to auto remove them within it. And I can't investigate in the internets right now how to do it. I can only point you in how to use regionfixer from CLI or GUI, which I guess you can use if you stop your server. In order to remove corrupted chunks and other stuff you have to use the '--delete-*' options. For example, from console you can do:
python regionfixer.py --delete-corrupted (this will remove corrupted chunks, you can also use '--dc')
Please refer to the help for more info!
I won't be able to answer in a week or so but I will try to look this when I can.
I'm very glad to have found your program, because I'm running a server and have just had a crash with that "relocating chunks" error. I can't login without it crashing immediately. I'm hoping Region Fixer will help (About to try the CMD). Just letting you know that I tried running the GUI first and the program crashes immediately (I have Win7 64bit). Here are the details of the crash. Sorry, my Windows is in Portuguese =P

I'll update you as to whether I'm able to fix my world or not with the CMD. o/
EDIT: Update =)
So I ran everything through CMD. First I ran the -dc argument only, then reuploaded the world to my server but it got stuck while starting the server (because of a few client mods which are not used server side). I simply put in the command "/fml confirm", and restarted the server, and it worked! I logged in fine. There are a few chunks (which I assume were the corrupted ones) which simply WILL NOT load, hehe. So they were permanently deleted. (Which is fine because they are far away from our spawn area).
I then went further by trying to replace the chunks instead of deleting them... So I loaded up the same seed in a local world and ran the --backups and --replace-corrupted arguments. (I had "backed up" the broken world on my PC). Sadly, region fixer crashed. Here's the report:

I think this might be because I prrobably didn't explore far enough in the new world I created with the orig. world's seed so the chunks weren't ever loaded there for RF to read.(?)
Anyway, at least the server is up and those few faraway chunks won't really be a problem =)

Sadly, it seems, the problem has not been fixed. After a while, it crashed in the same way as before. After the -dc, I scanned again and it said there were 0 corrupted chunks but still 11 "wrong location" chunks. Hey!
It looks like I'm late!
First, thanks for reporting back! It's very useful to have more info in bugs and crashes. With all the info you gave me it's clear that the GUI have some kind of problem and needs some fixing (you are not the first person to report this but you have been the most helpful).
Second, the crash while replacing chunkgs... I'm afraid is a known bug! I have a few reports in the bug autoreporter. As soon as I get some free time I will look to this and other issues (probably in a month, I'm afraid). It would be helpful to be able to replicate the bug. Could you send me to region files (broken and replacement) to reproduce the problem? I don't really know if I need them but it will be better when I try to fix to have a way to replicate the problem.
Third, although you probably know this already, you can also remove wrong-located chunks with '--dw'. Just in case you didn't know.
Well, now about your chunks. You say there are chunk that don't load... what do you mean? they give you error while loading? Or they simply don't show in game? If it's the second that is really strange and should not happen. When region-fixer removes a chunk minecraft should replace it as soon as it loads the region file. If it shows in game as an empty chunk there is another problem around. Maybe a server mod? Only empty chunks (chunks that exists in the region file but contain only air blocks) show in game as empty chunks.
About replacing chunks from a local world with the same seed... you shouldn't need that, as soon as you load the world in minecraft it should regenerate those removed chunks.
Also, if the world is not too big and you feel like so, you can send me the world and I'll try to fix it. I'm always searching for new worlds to test new stuff in region-fixer.
Great to hear from you. I'm happy my information was useful to you ^^ It's the least I can do for the free use of your little program, which, as it seems, might still save my world. Because I didn't know about the --dw argument! =D
I guess I should have used your in-program help command ;P
About the crash when trying to replace with a back-up world: I just realised that the world I was trying to fix had already been fixed with --dc. So there were no corrupt chunks to replace! (I thought doing that would replace the wrong location chunks..(?) .. ) So yes, that's probably why it crashed?
Okay, so, the --dw scan just finished and the wrong location chunks have been removed! Woot ^^
But there is something I didn't notice before: There are 75 "shared o." chunks. What are those and do you think they'll be a problem? o.O
Will upload anyway and see what happens. Good luck with that GUI!
EDIT qucik update. I googled the shared o. and then also actually used your --help command, lol. So I have now also run the --ds argument, and will try uploading. Hold thumbs! =)
One last EDIT: Big sigh. Despite our finest efforts, the logger of crashes has won the day. I don't believe your program can fix this... It seems like it has something to do with Tile entities and the PermGen size... Here's the part of the error that matters:
"The state engine was in incorrect state SERVER_STOPPING and forced into state SERVER_STOPPED. Errors may have been discarded." ... This came up only when I flew around that problematicregion with the permanently empty chunks.
So anyway.. Thank you for the help. I've learnt a lot. I'll start over now, with all mob and animal spawning disabled.

I just ran your most updated region fixer and I got some errors.
'level.dat' is corrupted with the following error/s: Not a gzipped file
Unreadable data files: villages_nether.dat
villages_end.dat
villages.dat
Any ideas how I can repair this?
Thanks!
Hello!
If level.dat is corrupted there is nothing that you can do to fix it. You can use a backup to restore it or, if you know the seed of the map, create a new map in minecraft with that seed and copy the level.dat to your broken world (note, this method will lose a lot of info).
And the other data files are more or less the same, once corrupted there is not much to do, if you don't have a backup the information in the file is lost.
So the only why to "fix" this is to replace the corrupted files fro ma backup by hand. (Yes, backups are important)
I hope that helps. Don't hestitate to ask if you need anything else.
Unfortunately, my backup contains the corrupted world
However, I am still able to play the world. Everything seems fine, except for the fact that my friend can't load her items/levels.
If I keep playing this world, will it overwrite the corrupted file after I shut down the server? In other words, if I keep playing this world, will it corrupt future saves?

I'm afraid I have no idea. But don't ever use region-fixer in a world that is currently being used by a server.
Good luck! If you have any news about your world, share them here!
This needs to be easier to install, it's a fantastic program but people are getting put off by the difficulty of setting it up.
Edit:
IT FOUND NOTHING WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY IT TOOK 2 HOURS TO GET IT WORKING PERFECTLY
Hey! I don't think its that hard to install.. you can download the windows executable and it should work out of the box. And maybe your world is not broken at all!
If you have any sugestions regarding to install and usage, please, I want to hear them. I really want to improve it.

Hi Fenixin,
Thanks for your reply!
Thanks for your response!
I'm afraid I have no idea. But don't ever use region-fixer in a world that is currently being used by a server.
Good luck! If you have any news about your world, share them here!
Great!
Thanks for your responses Fenixin!
Do I have to stop the server to remove corrupted chunks? Thanks.
Yes yo do! If you don't stop the server before fixing your world, really bad things can happen!
Hi Fenixin, i have searched and searched around this topic and doesn't seem that I'm getting anywhere.
1. I have a Mac.
2. I downloaded Python 2.7
3. I downloaded the gui program.
My world/server works untill a player (including me) gets near the corrupted block. Please help me!
I looked and looked around but forgive me if i have missed anyone reporting the same problem. Thank you so much!!!!
Edit 1:
Just to make things clearer, what i do is:
open "regionfixer_gui.py" with python launcher, and then it takes me to terminal. I don't know what to do next. Forgive if my post sounds stupid.
The terminal window that appears shows this:

Hello Fenixin! When I run the script on my world folder, it says:
<type 'exceptions.UnicodeEncodeError'>
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "regionfixer.py", line 506, in <module>
value = main()
File "regionfixer.py", line 404, in main
print(entitle(' Scanning world: {0} '.format(w_name), 0))
UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode characters in position 0-3: ordinal not in range(128)
My world was originally named using non-Latin (Cyrillic) characters. However, before running the script I renamed the folder name. Is this (possibly) the cause? What could I do to fix it? Thank you!
Hello!
Sorry for the time took answer. I had a very busy summer.
This answer will arrive late and it will probably be useless, anyway you're missing the module wx. You only have to download it from here:
http://wxpython.org/download.php#osx
Choose the file that fits your system and python version. That should do the trick!
This is a problem I have found before and I'm afraid I have no idea how to solve it for now, sorry!
