I wonder if they'll ever implement different traits that coincide with certain variations (textures) of the creatures themselves. I showed my friend this mod and she mentioned having races with the hippogriffs and campus, and it would be cool if certain variations had different traits, such as speed stamina strength things of that sort
Maybe a spiked piece of tail armor could be added and when equipped, make the tail whip attack have increased damage. To go even further, the spiked tail armor could have effects placed on it like slowness, poison, etc.
That's an awesome idea! 😀 I really hope it gets implemented in the future. It'll make the dragon armour even more badass! 😜

Just a suggestion, but perhaps when you hatch your own baby dragon, there is very very small chance that it will be born an albino? An albino could have certain strengths and weaknesses compared tho the normal dragon of that breed,
eg. the albino can't fly or walk as fast without someone riding it (as it has bad eyesight), but they have other stronger senses (hearing- can hear you call them from a further distance, their attacks could be slightly stronger, as well)

I love this idea. I do hope that it could be added at some point in the future
its said At younger stages dragons will only eat rabbits and chickens and as they grow so will the size and quantity of their prey required to sustain them, does that mean when hunting dragons, it can be possible to bait them? like take cows/pigs or any large animal that you may add to the mod they like to eat (if you wanna be sick a villager) , tie them to a post or trap em in a way and they can be used to bait the dragon into a nice open area to kill em

that's gonna be fun XD
That's a really good idea! I'm pretty interested in seeing what animals stage 5 dragons might have to hunt to sustain themselves -- maybe the dev's could add things like elk, elephants, bull seals (of any seal species), or large prey species in general, when they're not as busy...?

maybe not necessarily those animal types (though elk is a good idea), but animals who fall under the category of the animal types this mod has/will have any large animal will do as bait for larger dragons quite nicely, though I highly doubt ONE cow would do anything to attract a dragon, so who know they may add larger animals we can use as bait
It has been stated by the developers in the past that if you want that massive stage 5 of your dreams you will need to feed it an ungodly amount of food. Good luck! It's supposed to be a captive animals not reaching the size of the wild ones kind of thing. You're not supposed to be able to do it easily. The mentioned looting sword might be a must and I foresee automatic and semi-automatic survival friendly farms becoming very popular with this mod, with or without the use of redstone.

all i asked was would it can be possible to bait them XD like take cows/pigs or any large animal that you may add to the mod they like to eat (if you wanna be sick a villager) , tie them to a post or trap em in a way and use them to bait the dragon into a nice open area to kill em
i mean comeon there would HAVE to be a effective way of baitng them volital or not i dunno bout you, but im not just gonna run head first into a fight with a creature who makes flame throwers look like candles
Hell baiting worked in Monster hunter XD i dont see why it wouldnt be effective here

I wasn't commenting on the baiting, I was replying on all the comments about how much the dragons would need to be fed. I was around when the developers talked about it and they said that it would take a not very survival friendly amount of meat to raise a dragon to the size of the massive, wild stage 4s and 5s found sleeping in their lairs.
And for the record, this isn't Monster Hunter, it's Minecraft. A trapping method would be nice, but players rush in teeth first at the ender dragon all the time... They absolutely do Not "HAVE to" make a baiting/ trapping mechanic.

(Ok for starters that villager emoji is really cute =3 the little wiggly nose )
Anyways, most people, if you can believe it don't like running headfirst into teeth only to get eaten belt buckle and all, and in turn like to have a plan. There would HAVE, or at least has, to be different effective ways of hunting these beasts that don't necessarily involve constantly running head first into the dragons maw , so to speak
And you seem to have misunderstood my phrasing in the sentence "there would HAVE to be a effective way of baiting them" what I ment by that is not that they absolutely do "HAVE to" make a baiting/ trapping mechanic. What I ment was surely the admins added that concept at least not in a whole, to the mod. Mostly because I refuse to believe they would add a creature who by age 3-5 is a effective killing machine with the capability of destroying a whole village with a fire bomb, who also in a way has a "must constantly eat everything" nature in them, without SOMEway for it to be exploited to,some measure and or degree
and the last time I checked we can't drug corpses
so that would mean the only way of effectively doing it would be tieing some poor cow, or at least a horse to a post and using their succulent animaly goodness to OUR advantage.
Which would also make great way of getting back to those worthless cheapskate villagers with their knockoff trades ):<

this mod looks amazing! I love dragons a ton! I can definitely feel this being an amazing mod!

what would you have do while raising a dragon to get it with a skull that humongous?
Feed it?
i knew that lol but i mean do i have to feed it a certain amount of food?
If you want the dragon to grow you feed it. If you don't then don't feed it. The amount of food depends on how big you want it to be.
