Hi, Jotato. I've been watching KingDaddyDMAC's HermitCraft ModSauce series and I saw that you made custom items for him. I have an item that would be a nice addition to minecraft, but whether you choose to add it in is all your decision. The idea is a block that would create artificial sunlight. So that items like the solar panels from IC2 and EnderIO could be active and producing all the time. Integration with the solar generator from Extra Utilities could happen, too. It may sound op, but since I'm unable to use Mekanism in my personal modpack (for the Windmills), this item would be greatly appreciated! Anyways, I'm really liking the mod and keep up the work!
@Matt<numbers> maybe have it rechargeable, or running off of a power source? I agree with it, makes sun power accessible for underground bases. (because we know that's just what KDDmac needs)
Thanks for agreeing Octoshrimpy. Your idea of having it run off a power source is somewhat weird to me, as in, it seems weird to have something that would be used to generate power also need to use it. The idea could work out, if the amount of RF (or whatever type of power) needed to maintain it is less than what the solar panel would be outputting.
@Matt energy is neither created nor destroyed. A power source could be anything from burning coal to trained animals on a treadmill.
and @jotato, would you mind if I redid this mod into a bukkit plugin? I would be copying ideas/names/functionality straight from the mod. All credit will be given to you for creative rights, as assumed.
Hey Jotato, this looks like a great idea for a mod! I would like to give you a suggestion though: could you make the rest of the tools for the imbued set, such as the shovel, axe and possibly the hoe? I have ideas for special abilities for them too:
Shovel: Digs ridiculously fast
Axe: Fells entire trees if you shift and break the bottom block
Hoe: Turns dirt into fertile soil, which can grow crops faster
You can change the abilities and whatnot if you want. I just thought I'd give my two-cents about this

ummm....that is weird. Can we just agree it is an undocumented feature
Seriously though, sorry that is happening. I don't think obsidian is going to change anything. The magnets don't care what blocks are there. Here is the gist of how they work
1. ask the game what items and XP are around you
2. duplicate it and tell the game to give you that item/XP
3. delete the original one on the ground
the reason #2 has to happen is so that a: it will work through blocks and b: you won't have any stupid flying animation of the items. So there could be a few problems.
- There could legitimately be xp on the ground that you can see. Maybe it is in a cave close by? Maybe the digital miner did something. I wonder if when it mines blocks if the XP gets dropped and maybe never despawns?
- There is a single (or multiple) ghost XP orb on the ground and step 3 isn't working.
either one of those could be a possibility. Is it possible to try something for me? Can you go to a location where the glitch isn't happening and run your digital miner setup again? Try to keep it the same way it was. Turn it off and let me know if the glitch happens there.
I will try different scenarios on my end. Sorry again :/
edit
can you activate the magnet and let it run for about 5 min? I'm just wondering if there really is XP somewhere that the miner dropped. remember that the REM has a range of 14 blocks so they could be down pretty far. If you don't want to cheaty xp just make sure to stand on an XP drain and void what you don't want

The imbued tool is a shovel, axe, pick combo. It is just an OP end game tool so you don't have to carry those 3 with you. I don't think I want to add a Hoe to it, but maybe another item that does what you are asking?
I haven't had a chance to make the pick yet, so I was unaware of that. If the pick can already provide all of the functionality, I don't think you would have to add other tools. However, have you given any thought to some type of OP armor? Perhaps an upgradable type of armor where the player can use it to fly, swim in lava, and other things after crafting it with certain upgrades?
EDIT: I also have another request, but I am not sure how easily implementable it would be though. I am working on a building project, and am in need of some particle effects and whatnot. Would it be possible to create a block with two inventory slots where you can place certain "effect plates" in to one slot and cause particles to be made, while the other slot you can put a block into and desguise the "particle emitter"? For example, I need to have smoke pillars, beacon lights (I can't use a beacon due to limited space), and dripping water/lava effects coming from plain-looking blocks. If this sounds plausible, let me know. Thanks!
Hey Jotato, I saw your posts above commenting on other people's posts, but you kind of skipped over mine. Just wondering if that was intentional or accidental, and if accidental if you had any thoughts on it.

Sorry. I didn't mean to. The idea itself is cool but I don't see a real use case for it. Can't you just switch to another power source? Or use a tesersct?

@Jotato No worries. The only reason i had the idea was because I wanted something like a "free power source", like the Mekanism Windmills. Since having Mekanism installed seems to crash my game (with a reason I have no idea how to fix), I thought that since this was an upcoming mod that would still be adding stuff, that this block could be added. Although this is a personal request, I know some other people would want it to. In the end, it is your mod and you make the choices, and if you don't want it in, then it won't be in. But thanks for responding
Hi, I really like your mod. It is exactly what I was looking for. I have just two suggestion.
1. Please make the harvestlevel adjustable. I have metallurgy installed and 16 harvest tiers.
2. Either split Matter Transporter into two items or make the moving of spawner configurable. It is too cheap for moving spawner and it breaks my progression and I don't want to remove the item completely.

1. I assume you are talking about the harvest level on the imbued tool?
2. it will be a config option soon.
I'll dig into it, but that might be a graphics card thing. The matter transporter uses the built in game stuff of saving/restoring the state of a block - just like if the chunk unloaded.
I won't be able to look tonight, but if I can reproduce it i'll do my best to fix it. thx for reporting it

One more thing, I would rather you not call it an official port

This was mainly a few tweaks but I did add one new item. Go check it ou
