Cuchaz's Tall Worlds Mod - probably never because he doesn't work on it anymore, my forge fork - "when it's done". The good thing is that everything that is there already works on 1.11 and updating to 1.11.2 will probably involve just changing forge version number.

Currently there is no MinecraftForum thread for it, I only have githuib repository with the code, there is no .jar file to download. And it is intentional, because even the world save format is not yet done and may change in significant ways.

Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Goshdarnit, Mojang should hire this guy to get their game unlimited height. Why oh why does this mod have to be so underappreciated...
Mojang doesn't need to hire someone to get Cubic Chunks into Minecraft. They could do it themselves if they wanted to. The trouble is, actually spending resources to implement Cubic Chunks is probably a bad business investment. That's probably why they'll never do it. Too much work, not enough reward.
Are there any instructions on how to get this code to work?
My implementation is just a proof-of-concept prototype. It's not supposed to be fully playable. I think Barteks2x is working on something more usable though.
Hey man, what I think you are doing here is amazing. But quite frankly, i'm getting VERY desperate. Although, with tons of builders complaining about the height limit, for some reason, nobody seems to be trying to work on it. I myself, don't know anything about coding, but if nobody is going to do it, I guess it's worth a shot. I am getting very impatient, for 2 years I waited for someone to make a mod that increased the sky limit, or for Mojang to do it. Nobody is doing it. Give me hints on how you did it. I'll do it myself if I have to. Thanks anyway man.

No fully usable mods exist for this because it's very very very hard to make a mod that does this. It's just too much work to make the needed changes to Minecraft's game engine. It's so much work, even Mojang doesn't want to do it, despite how many players want it to happen. In all honestly, it will probably never happen.

So as some of you may know, there are seeds in Minecraft that glitch out the terrain generation and cause the same caves to generate every 16 blocks. In vanilla the seed 164311266871034 cuases the caves to repeat across the Z axis. In the Tall Worlds mod, it instead repeats stuff on the Y axis, giving this weird looking cave stack:
And this quite literally bottomless pit:
So yeah, just found that pretty cool and decided to share it here because it was relevant.
(And there are seeds that repeat across the Z axis as well, one of these is 240144965573432)
I wish I could donate, but I'm saving up the money I hav and my parents probably won't approve.
Will you ever work on it again?
glad to see this idea is still running solid, now if only we can get mojang to get their heads up and check this out. lol

"Love and Peace" - Vash the Stampede
please update it to 1.11
Can anyone say, how soon CubicChunks will get first .jar release?

Is there a possible release date for an alpha version of a mod?

Sure, here's how I did it. It's all here:
https://github.com/TallWorlds/CubicChunks
And a little bit is here:
https://bitbucket.org/cuchaz/m3l/src
Nope. I'm not even working on Tall Worlds anymore. It's too much work.
Thanks, Cuchaz. Now on to learning Java.....
Good luck! =)
Wow. If only Cuchaz could keep working on it.
