Sorry, I don't do release predictions. This is just a hobby. If you guys can actually support my salary on Patreon, then I could afford to spend enough time modding to make promises and have some hope of keeping them. So until then, I promise nothing and make no release schedules. The way things are looking now, modding will never be more than a hobby.
if you want to make money out of mods, using ads will be better than waiting for donations since this is a big mod and a lot of people are going to download it

Turns out, ads don't pay very much. Hopefully this mod will generate lots of traffic and I'll make enough money to keep working on it. We'll see. =)
Barteks2x has made a 1.6.2 cubic chunks mod(about a year ago he made it)(it might not forge compatible and you probably need to use WinRAR to copy and paste the class files into the version 1.6.2.jar):
The maker is Barteks2x. The mod is a vanilla mod. So whilst some people are waiting they can use this one(development on it has been stoped though).
Also this cubic chunks mod makes the world deeper(lower than -1,400).
This mod might have infinate height and depth.
You can get this mod on the Cubic Chunks discussion thread.
Will the Tall Worlds Mod be infinately generated downwards and upwards?
This was NEVER supposed to be publicly available. This version is has more bugs then 1.7.2 TWM. I don't know where did you get it. I never posted any link to it. And I don't remember sending any link to you.
Edit: It doesn't mean that you need to delete it.
Development has stopped once 1.7.2 have been released. I was waiting for 1.7.2 MCP, then when pre release came out I didn't want to use the incomplete mappings. There were a lot of places that weren't deobfuscated yet. And in the meantime Cuchaz started working in TWM. So I didn't see any reason to continue working on my mod.

If you want traffic, you just can make Tall Worlds some day compatible with WorldEdit and VoxelSniper (so builders will rush to this mod), and when people will see all the builds made thanks to this mod and how awesome builds can become, they will want to download this mod.

Personally I really like the concept of Patreon, and it represents something far more real than advertising income based on traffic.
The idea that you can make a small active difference to individual ideas, that you would like to see explored and developed, in a very real fashion is very compelling. With large companies the consumer really has little impact at all on what gets developed and what stays in the maybe one day box. By becoming a patron to something you believe in you make an active contribution to it's development.
So many times we sit waiting for something to come out before we support it, truth is there are so many ideas that just never materialize because the minds capable and willing just don't have the resources.
In a world with 7 billion voices, this is a way to make yours count.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised at that post too, I didn't recall you releasing any of those tests... Those were based on re-engineered and heavily modified code ripped from an early version of the original Cubic Chunks mod but not yet fully reimplemented. There was much to be figured out yet at that point since the original mod wasn't fully multi-player yet and the code (as you originally got it) wasn't documented and was actually from a very old version.
It was amazing what you were able to accomplish with what you got at the time though, you are a valuable member of the Tall Worlds Team!
WARNING
PLEASE please people! Do not build any projects, even if you are able to, with that old Barteks2x test version of Cubic Chunks. Not only is that implementation incomplete but he altered the save format to be different from the original mod. You won't ever be able to transfer those worlds to other versions of the original Cubic Chunks Mod or Tall Worlds even with the World Save Converter!!

I am waiting for this mod to be released so that i can build a actual-sized kingdom tower in minecraft
Well, I guess the race is on
I have also been planning an actual sized Kingdom tower for quite some time now. All 1007 meters of it. Went even into doing a ton of reaserch on it... did you know Osama Bin-Laden's family is building it? The Saudi Bin-Laden group is one of the largest construction agencies in the world.
Hopefully I can build this faster than they are building the actual Kingdom Tower, as its taken a long time (5 years) to reach floor 15 in construction.
Anyway to help you out, here's a few good images and schematics of it to look off of:
Ignore the podium on that one, as it is out of date, or just completely wrong.
There are many more images I could find, but i decided that this is enough.
Here are some images showing the construction progress recently (credits to Alsaif2012 on Skyscrapercity)
Hope this might've kinda help you to some extent... Interesting tower

Have you considered putting your work on a code sharing site like Github? This project has a lot of interest in it and it would probably be for the best if people could seen for themselves how the work is going and even make suggestions. Some of the most popular mods and frameworks have adopted this sort of system and are now reaping the rewards.

Wow. Your words have moved me. Where I once wandered blindly in the darkness, I now see the error of my old ways. I'll put the code for all the modding projects I've ever done on code sharing sites at once! That way, everyone can see what I've been doing and how my mods work. And other modders could even contribute code to my projects if they wanted. Everyone wins, right?
Here's a couple links to start. Am I doing this right?

So I saw that one part of this mod is that it will be replacing parts of the Minecraft lighting code. Does that mean it won't work with shader mods like GLSL?

TheMinecraft lighting engine is mostly CPU side, so my changes shouldn't affect shaders very much at all.
Yes.
We're also happy to have Barteks working on Tall Worlds as well. =)
Oh, he's helping out with Tall Worlds? Awesome!
These forums are dumb and break my links. I'm bubbleawsome on steam too.

so will you be helping Cuchaz then?
Be involved in the Survival of Modding in the Post-Notch Era. Enigma + M3L + LiteLoader/API + BlazeLoader {ALL Open-Source!}
It sounds like he, barteks, and one or two other people are working on the mod.
