Well the answers I got were not what I wanted. If I thought it was going to be that easy. I wouldn't have posted. As far as I know. There are none. There's video on this mod. Nothing that shows me how to lay down track.

By putting it in your hand and right-clicking. It's like any other mod start exploring how to operate the mod yourself by just playing around with the items. It's really obvious.
I never downloaded any of his maps, they look awesome though! i cant wait for the new release with narrow gauge! ive more or less completed one of the terminating points for trains on my island map. but i dont want to add much more until i can lay some rail. towns of Kuts, Neuchatel, and st. francis are pretty much completed. i just need to add one or to more! id like to have the map available for download perhaps around christmas time
Although I learned from accidentally messing up the tracks, in numerous places, on the first map Doffen released.
It is a good thing there is a pattern of gravel to follow then (And I have only put one map out for download )
But about a tutorial for the mod, bigjoe11a, then I don't think there is one. But I can give you a few tips in a nicer tone then what the other fans of this mod gave you. If you go on a superflat world and starts experimenting with the different components, you will soon figure out how they all work. The curves are bending 45 degrees, wich means that you can either use diagonal tracks or use anouther 45 degree turn to make it a full 90 degree turn, or back straight the in the same direction you started. But you will have to place it from where the turn will end, if that made any sense. You cant place it where the previous turn ends, sins the tracks are pointed 45 degrees instead of going straight. You have to figure out where the other part of the turn are suposed to be placed, wich can be a bit hard the first times. I think there is some schematics out for download that you can use with MCedit, wich are gravel (or another block) in the same shape as the turns. Then it is easeier to plan out a railway, sins you can place out the turns with for example mc edit. Switches need a swichstand to work. There is an area on the switches that stands out from the rest, and this is the place you need to place the switchstand next to in order to be able to switch the tracks. You know that you have done it right when you see an animation on the switch (not the switchstand. There is always an animation on this, even tho it do not switch the tracks) There is not much more I can tell you. How to place them right is stuff that needs to be tried out yourself on a superflat world.

But wait, didn't you do an expansion of the first map,and added a snow area to it?
Edit: that's make some more room.
Edit 2: I found it.
"To those who are interested, the new version of my map is up for download. It has grown alot sins the last time, with new towns, more details, railway through snowy mountains. There is still work to do. The tunnels for example looks quite ugly (even square... ugh...) But that will be a problem for another time. I try to use as little of them as possible, but the last one got quite long. That was the only way I managed to get down to the last town at the moment."
The sidetrack in the fishingvillage is now become electrified, but they are still using the steam locomotives and shunters becouse of their lack of money.
The papermill is now finished, with an additonal unit to chemicals to be unloade
The little docks in the village at the end of the river is now completed. Larger fishingboats like the one in the picture will deliver fish here, and chemicals used for the industry along the river gets delivered here by small ships. Larger ships have to deliver in the largest town at the end of the line, where the docks are quite bigger. This also meens that the freightroute gets extended heavily. A trip from that end of the line, and to the papermill wich is at the other end of the line, migh take up to 10-15 minutes or more, depending on your speed and additional stops. (It might sound little, but in minecraft time it is a while).
The midnight-express climbing up to the plateau.
A new picture of the mountain station. Where the railroad have their snowclearing base. There is a locomotive shed to house the loco used to clear the tracks, so the trains can keep their schedule. Otherwise from the railwayworkers, there is also some tourists that travels up here for skiing. So a few pasengers and a bit of goods needs to be transported here.
Even though this town got roadconnections to other cities, the railway is still the transport method most of them use. And most of their imported goods comes by the railway. Therefore most trains passing by this small station makes a stop here to deliver and pick up passengers and goods, wich also creates a bi of problems with the schedule, since only two small trains can be here at a time.
I love the backstory of your route! thats what makes building these railways and the villages around them so much fun!
Um you know this is Doffen's creation, right? I just found the original post, and reposted it,for proff that he really has two maps released and not one.
Yes, the map got an update. But it is still the same map I supose Good to see that you like it.
Yep, I do like it. I remember when it first came out and fun it was(although I had to ride the hole map on handcart, as it was the only thing I could get to move).
This is awesome. I've just driven an engine from one end to the other and it stayed on the track too unlike my effort!
Having had a go at laying RoW track I know how much effort is involved but it's worth it when the end result looks so good. For some reason on my railway the engine left the track at one point and did a mid air loop. I'm guessing having a curved track leading onto a gradient was the reason for my engine leaving the track.
I know what you mean about using tunnels as little as possible. I enjoy the dmental challenge of finding a route that doesn't require long tunnels although it's not always possible with RoW. Using vanilla minecarts is much easier.
Thanks for sharing.
Ok I hope you know this is Doffen's map, and I just reposted it when I found it,from over a year ago.
The whois lookup shows that the domain railsofwar.net isn't due to expire until January. Also a 522 usually isn't an expired domain name, so I reckon it is indeed the server that's gobbed up. If you really want to get something off the page, big brother Google keeps caches on hand. I've been able to get to the mod download link through that.

Well I wish I knew that (and had lynx). It's nice to here from you Don, it's been awhile.

the best way to experiment with the mod is in creative mode on a superflat! that way you can get a feel for it! the best thing to do is experiment!

I believe it may be downed.
That is odd, do you think Naiten pays for railsofwar.net monthly, and just happened to have the cycle end of July 24?

Are you going to add guns and armor to this mod????? Like armor for the trains and guns for the trains and stuff
I think you should wait and see and not to annoy Naiton.
This is my railroad so far. if u have any comments or suggestions plz tell me
