Though maps are more of my territory, I do know some Java, so I'm making the great leap into mod territory. I have messed around for the (approximately) last six months, and I feel mostly comfortable with coding. The only things I cannot do are extremely complex stuff, models, structures, and dimensions, though, with the power of Google, YouTube, and the MC Forum, I'm sure that I could get into that. "But, LucasScooter," you say, lightly perusing my text. "What does this have to do with me?" Well, MC Forum denizen, it means that I need help, as the title of this post states very clearly. "Yeah, I get that. So stop bragging about your confidence with Java and get to the point already," you say, rolling your eyes a little. I was just going to do that before you so rudely interrupted me. And I wasn't bragging, just stating/proving that I wasn't a 10-year-old who thinks they know enough about Java to create the next Thaumcraft.
Anyway, I need help with assets and ideas for this enterprise I am taking upon myself. I cannot draw, digitally or in the physical world, which is kind of a shame. Thankfully, there exist people in this world who can draw, and that is the purpose of this forum post. As for ideas, I'm not exactly sure what kind of a mod I want to do. I'm thinking an Elemental Mod, as that sounds within my range of Java ability, but, if someone has a much better idea they would like to share with a complete stranger who tends to be overly wordy, that would be wondrous. If you would like to apply to help me out with assets, code, resources, or something like that, I would be eternally grateful. Please provide a small showcase of some of your previous work and your age. For those people who would like this showcased in a more pictorial manner:
Age- PM me to add me on Skype (I prefer not to say ^.^)
Sample of previous work- More Rifles Mod - Essentials Mod - Quite a lot more, but they are either unreleased or disregarded. These are just a few mods that I have actually bothered to release.
Why you want to work on this project- I feel like I can help you out with some textures, models and maybe some coding (although it depends if the mod you are working on/want to work on will be in 1.7 or 1.8 - I'm not too familiar with modding in 1.8 and prefer not to.
Well, I've been messing around in 1.6.4, but I would like to upgrade to 1.7. I'm not sure exactly how to do that, though. :/ Your textures are certainly impressive! I would be happy to work with you.
Cool. I just solved how to make addons on my own style. But ye. just pm me when your ready I'll give you a job and u for me.
I can do:
Textures 32x32(best choice)
lib files(Exampleitems.class(items ingame) and Constants.class(mod id, name and version)
add items
add blocks
world generator and ores
add creative tabs
make textures to guis
add item textures
make cool models(check out NeXTech mod to see the models)
I still can't code models
Well, I can do all of that except textures and models. I'm looking for someone who can do dimensions, complex code, and generated structures. I'd still be happy to help you, though!
I could help out with the code I have some experience (3 years)
Just getting back into it after a 4 month break.
Also if this is along the lines of avatar :/ there is already a mod out there that allows bending.
@Dimensions
I have made some mods with dimensions before although only 1 was released but I am comfortable with all parts except biomes as I usually just use 1 biome.

Awesome! As I think I said above, someone else is doing the models and assets, so I would just need you as a code guru. Thank you! I'm thinking one biome for the dimensions anyway, so no worries there. If you could PM me your Skype, then I could add you to the mod group.
And no, it is not based off of Avatar. I've never seen the show, and all I know about it is that you can do something with some elements called '*insert element here* bending'. You may now begin to hate me.

So, I'm now looking for someone really good at Java. Muggles has agreed to do the assets/models, so it would be a three-person team. Thanks!

Well, as I said, I'm new to Java. I would be glad to help you out, but I'm not an expert by any means. If you're okay with this, then I am too.

What do you mean by an elemental mod?
You know, the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. Except I add in a few more. I can be less vague if you ask a more specific question.
