Modpacks are alright, I request that a link to the description on curse or here be lists somewhere.
Just so people know where it comes from and don't miss out on info.
"The Basic Elements" is distributed here on this forum or it can be found on curse. Two places.
Redistribution of the mod in any way of profit or building of online currency/points is not allowed, and is prohibited. Redistribution to the extent that "The Basic Elements" can be put in a modpack and shared is allowed.
Also added a link to an open source (not any of that .jar src stuff im talkin' bout the src folder) to the 2nd post on the forum if anyone has a feeling to create some kind of awesome throwing devices or big flying boulders and that sort of thing.
Or would like a reference of doing such.
Or even you'd like to run the mod through on un-recommended. w/e
Games are for fun
Creating stuff is cool.
Thieves need a brick broke over their head. lol, yes a wet brick sponge.
The InvisibleOrb got this added to it ---> result.entityHit.addVelocity(0, 0.0614, 0);
So, when something is hit by an invisible orb its velocity will go
upwards by 0.0614. Which of course doesn't sound like much, nor does it
look like much. But combined with things that don't normally fly, like a
minecart for example, there are some cool things that can be done.
With the following 2 commands you can summon a minecart that will
hover and go upwards as if it were spraying a jet of water out the
bottom of it towards the ground. The minecart can be pushed and it will
fall, then spring back up. It is different than both explosion and
levitation propulsion. Pretty neat!
The InvisibleOrb now only has base impact damage against mobs, instead of mobs and players. That way it is player safe and can still be used as a weapon.
I made a enchanted flying minecart that you can steer, hover around in, etc. (you can also shoot stuff out of it since it goes upwards on its own, be careful though because a bow and arrow is a minecarts worst nightmare). To fly north, east, south, or west, select a stick in your 1st slot and face that direction while in the minecart. Traveling in one direction for too long will cause you to start going down, staying still makes you go up. (This is completely safe in survival mode, except for a happenstance that occurs when landing the Minecart on the ground. For some reason it makes you take fall damage as if you fell from a really high place.)
Giving you a fire_orb that doesn't only go in one direction, but can
fly upwards and fall back down. (Cuz, sometimes you need that, like in
super mario dungeons.)
leaping_fire_orb doesn't have an item, its just a summon.
The linear fire_orb is the one with the item.
Now not only can you blow stuff up, but you can still build your volcano! woohoo
-Updated description.
Orbs now have gravity-
water orb lobs through the air
air orb flings fast and for the furthest distance
nether orb flings a little slower and kinda lobs similar to the water orb for the 2nd furthest distance
earth orb doesn't go very far, falls fast though.
fire orb is now a straight flying projectile. It now has a 105 ticks of existing lifespan. (little over 5 seconds)
-Its not a ghast fireball.
Fire orb still has its old explosion power and fuse nbt tag behaviors
(which didn't seem to work in the revamped release), however if the
entity exists for 105 ticks it will explode if not wet, damaging
everything including villagers *and their houses.
If it makes impact on a block before its fuse runs out it will "plop" and no explosion will occur.
If you hit an entity before it explodes the orb will catch it on fire, or explode creepers as usual.
This way orbs are mechanically correct, like an arrow doesn't fly the same as a snowball.
Also, it makes the fire orb that much more awesome
Looking at this photo here... hmmmm. -small image I can't blow up without losing tons of quality.... hmmm.
according to this chart there is a missing aether orb, but what would it do..... hmmm.... would it be called an aether orb or something else...? there's not a fig orb.... its called the nether orb. nether and aether sounds pretty cool though...
I'll see when I can battle the 1.11 end game with them, I wouldn't go to add it without knowing if it will be balanced or not.
More importantly what would it be crafted out of....? I guess sea lanterns xD, haha. I'm going to have to imagine this for the next couple of days or so... this may or may not be added.
edit:
something with healing properties... that doesn't or does go through things.... its pretty much gaia.... gaia can travel through things. Hmmm... life energy
What is your policy on modpacks/redistribution?

Just updated the one on curse to 1.10....
updated link on here for 1.10.
I'll see about it though.Having to pull the one for 1.10 from curse for the time being accidentally posted the 1.10 first and not the 1.9.4 version.
still available on the first page of this forum though.
Edit: I put 1.10 back up on curse for now.
I'll also see about 1.10.2
thanks for the update. appreciate the work.
No Problem, Uploading 1.10.2 recommended version now.
edit:
download available on here n curse for 1.10.2
1.3.4
The Basic Elements now has its own tab. (wooo a tab)
-Fixed
CreativeOrb no longer draws its texture from the InvisibleOrb.
Replacing the InvisibleOrb texture will no longer change the texture of the CreativeOrb.
CreativeOrb has its own texture,
assets/guru/textures/entity/CreativeOrb.png
-Updated open src on front page of forum.
1.3.5
The InvisibleOrb got this added to it ---> result.entityHit.addVelocity(0, 0.0614, 0);

repeat, unconditional, always active.
/execute @e[type=MinecartRideable] ~ ~-2 ~ summon guru.InvisibleOrb ~ ~ ~ {Motion:[0.0,0.357,0.0]}
impulse, uncondition, needs redstone + button.
/summon MinecartRideable ~ ~5 ~ {Invulnerable:1b}
(changing the texture of the invisible orb will show you whats actually going on, and can go for some cool looking graphical effects.)
-updated the src too (ڇڄ_ڇڄ)
Made a flying block of obsidian xD 3 orbs, a piece of FallingSand, and a lightning bolt.
-1.3.6
The InvisibleOrb now only has base impact damage against mobs, instead of mobs and players. That way it is player safe and can still be used as a weapon.
Here is the result of the 1.3.6 update
I made a enchanted flying minecart that you can steer, hover around in, etc. (you can also shoot stuff out of it since it goes upwards on its own, be careful though because a bow and arrow is a minecarts worst nightmare). To fly north, east, south, or west, select a stick in your 1st slot and face that direction while in the minecart. (This is completely safe in survival mode, except for a happenstance that occurs when landing the Minecart on the ground. For some reason it makes you take fall damage as if you fell from a really high place.)
World Save 1.10.2:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/znjyz4k3k251t0j/The Basic Elements.7z?dl=0
No potion effects, no entitydata.
1.3.7
Reformatting update.
Things that changed:
old:
/summon guru.FireOrb
new:
/summon guru.fire_orb
-.png orb textures have lower case letters with underscores now too.
I reformatted the src to fit properly with the upcoming 1.11 update and match the original formatting of the mc src.
The reason there is guru. instead of guru: is the formatting of forge. This may change from . to : in forge 1.11.
The src has been updated.
-1.4.2
-Restored smooth flight path of air and nether orb.
-Updated src.
The air orb and nether orb no longer zig-zag or jerk when thrown and are in flight for a long time.
In 1.4.1, if you threw one upward in the air, it would jitter before
hitting the ground like this momentary displacement stuff was occuring.
All orbs should be a tad bit more responsive.
good to go now.
For the sake of volcanoes, cannons, and other fiery things the old-school fire orb can now be summoned as leaping_fire_orb.
example:
/summon guru.leaping_fire_orb ~ ~ ~ {Fuse:40,ExplosionPower:8,Motion:[1.0,1.0,0.0]}
Now not only can you blow stuff up, but you can still build your volcano! woohoo

Thanks for the 10,000+ downloads y'all!

Maybe when it comes to vanilla I'll add a
gaia typeaether orb. Right now, there's not a material that really works for a crafting recipe.edit: (I guess glowstone worked, beta on curse.)
Thanks to some moderators on here and the lovely youtube community I was able to update the 3rd post with some spotlight/showcases.
-I got some good laughs
