from 1.8 to 1.9.4 (i do believe, at least 1.9) You could not chisel anything from tinkers construct.
The above picture is a chiseled forge from chisels & bits + tinkers construct (which was previously impossible.)
I have noticed all the liquid metals from tinkers also have bits now. even the tree leaves.
I don't know if its something you did or if its something they did. So, I figured I'd ask you.
I built a huge dungeon in 1.9 out of tc blocks and couldn't chisel a single one. so like on gates and stuff I had to use stone.
I 100% of the time play with tinkers construct and chisels and bits. So this is something really awesome to me.
Boni who works on TiC asked for a way to C&B to work on the decorative blocks from TiC, so I hooked him up with an API to make that possible. I also expanded what was originally supported cause I figured its more fun that way.
All Fluids are by default are supported, since I don't mimic their properties, they all function as water.
So yes, that won't be going away unless there is a bug. So have fun!

Friggin' sweet man, thanks for that. You have no idea how cool that is. When i chiseled the first smeltery block a smile came to my face.
I was like "a miracle has happened, is this real?"
and now its even cooler cuz i know its not some kind of flaw or goof and it was intentionally done.
So yeah, that's amazing, and incredible. I'm astounded. I've waited a long time for this to happen.

i can relate to that.. when i know that feeling, the smile came to your face. But the reason why i know that feeling is because it make you feel like you are a sculptor..
Hi I like when you said we can share or store our creations. Also, I like the interface for building and chiselling. Do you have any plans for making a larger scale builder, that maybe works with normal blocks? I think mine craft needed it forever, and with your interface skills you could do it. I know for example the builders wand from extra utility but it would be nothing compared to this.

At the moment I don't have any plans for it, generally speaking I will probably not go in that direction, since my focus has mostly to do with the bits and micro manipulation within my own tools and items.

C&B Blueprints which are in the works will have support for larger structures, but this more because C&B creations aren't constrained to live inside a single block, so neither are blueprints, that said I haven't desired on any firm upper bounds for them. And where as progress is slow I've been making soom good progress so I thought I'd post some screen shots here.
For Flat Colored Blocks, are there any plans on making 'seamless' blocks, similar to the Lapis Caelestis blocks from 1.7.10's Extra Utilities? I mean seamless in that if you make a cuboid room with it, you can't see the edges even where the blocks aren't touching (ex. the corners of the room), only an entirely seamless solid colour 'expanse', for lack of a better term. I always figured that the vast color selection of Flat Colored Blocks would complement that kind of block.

I can post a picture if you need an example.
None of the default Flat Colored blocks have seams, and you can remove the textures completely if you would prefer that, via the config.
I'm actually not sure what to change in the configs to achieve that. And while the picture you gave is helpful, I meant something more along the lines of this. The connecting edges of the blocks on the intersection between the sides and back of the wall are entirely nonexistent. I have no idea what to change in the configs to achieve an effect like this, if it's possible.

You don't seem to be talking about "edges" at all, but more you just want the textures to be a single solid color, Go in the Mod Config Screen from the main menu, pick Flat Colored Blocks, then select the "Texture" page and change the display textures to "Flawless".
Unless your talking about the "other worldly" quality of these blocks were they don't have any proper shading or lighting applied to them, you might beadle to achieve that with glowing.. but I doubt it, even glowing blocks are the standard MC Shading applied.
And that sort of look would require a completely new set of block'ids and that not really what I was going for with the mod.
Just downloaded this mod a little bit ago, and this mod is nothing short of genious. The possiblities are endless and with just one chisel and a few sidekicks. Amazing. Thank you for sharing this mod with us.
Is there a way for me to increase the transparency of one of the FCB blocks? I'd love it if there was something much clearer, more like vanilla glass but without the borders that has. I've had a look in the config but am uncertain which value to tweak and in which direction
TRANSPARENCY_MIN & TRANSPARENCY_MAX represent the range of the Alpha for the transparent blocks, if you set both to 0.4 for instance it will make your transparent blocks 40% opaque rather then 50% opaque. This won't affect the number of blocks, just how opaque they are, I don't believe this will cause any issues for an existing world; but if you try I'd suggest backing up your config/world just to be sure.
If you want to add multiple shades you can expand the range, 0.3 - 0.5 for instance, and adjust TRANSPARENCY_SHADES to 2; However if you change any settings that affect the number of blocks the mod produces the blocks in your game might either vanish ( on reduction ) or change color/type ( on increase );
For that reason its suggested to select the config before using the mod, also keep in mind to not increase the values to much or your'll run out of block ids, the screen on start up displays the stats when these settings are changed.
As long as you move to a newer version you shouldn't lose anything.
I always recommend backing up your saves before updating however in case something does go wrong.
Thank you for help :3
Why does the current alpha release have the same version number in the filename as the previous beta? (both are 11.5)
Appears that in my haste to put out the new stuff I used the old version number...
1st things 1st,
When did this happen?
2ndly, is it going to stay this way :)?
Sorry? I'm not sure what your asking.

The closest you can get is 16 increments from one side of the block to the other.

That got it working! Sorry for being unclear, and thank you for your help.

Also, good job on the glass, its pretty nice.
