Moving forward, Gany has said that he wants to move all of the overworld catchup stuff out of GS, but backwards compatibility means he has to keep it in for the life of 1.7.10.

The Slime Block mechanic is entirely possible. Just search up the "Back In Slime" mod for 1.7.10. The creator successfully ported it from 1.8 to 1.7.10. I know this post is a little late, but I just saw this mod while browsing through. I'm a huge fan of your mods, Gany. They are amazing in their functionality. Anyways, it's entirely possible. If you can, try to talk to the creators of "Back In Slime" and even "Backlytra". I haven't seen if you have Elytra included in Et Futurum, but if you do, kudos. But if you don't, then at least try it. I'm just here coming up with ideas and it's your mod, so it's your call, obviously.
Anyways, keep up the amazing work, Gany. I can't wait to see more content from you. : )

i think it's purpose is to port stuff to the current most popular version of minecraft, which i think is still 1.7.10, and backporting stuff from 1.10 to 1.9 seems nearly pointless, seeing as about 95% of 1.9 mods work on 1.10
So I figured out what was causing the strange side texture reveals on top layer of water in the end (Using 1.7.10 version). It is something todo with chorus plants, after breaking them the water's texture returned to normal.
For those who are looking for a resource pack that supports Et Futurum. I released Aeon Extension Patch v11 that adds Et Futurum support.
From the left to the right: Prismarine, Purpur, Red Sand, 1.8 doors, Diorite, Andesite, End Stone Bricks, Grass Path, Rose and others (not in the pic: brewing stand UI and slime blocks).
It's not Gany's Et Futurum mod, which is causing the crash. Seems to be the "More Fun QuickSand" mod. I checked their page. They already have a solution.

skin overlay is a thing which can be turned off in config. A lot of issues here is due to people not looking in config file to turn that off. Gany should turn it off by defaultthough.

Gany's activity is merging pull requests, so his development may be halted, but maintenance seems to be continuing.
