Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
--They won't die...They will return...muhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu......--
Don't know how unique this is, but it's what I got:
A symbiotic mob; a beautiful women contained by a slime. They put up a facade, of a women who was eaten by the slime, screaming for release. Using her looks and cries, she attracts prey for the two to feast on, while the slime slowly encapsulates the opponent. They would spawn on Sea Foam. Gelatinous forms that generate in clusters in Ocean Biomes. They could drop some sort of dark magic necklace that allows the player to be consumed by a slime, assuming the abilities of the mob? [I have no clue]
Their attacks would comprise of so:
The girl changing the color of the slime, applying a different potion effect on contact.
The slime spitting miniature slimes that swarm the opponent
The slime leaping onto a foe, suffocating it.
The slime expanding to consume enemies within a melee range.
The girl projecting a cube of slime that encapsulates the opponent.
Every once in a while the girl will force her head out of the slime to taunt the player, this is when she can be harmed.
The slime is invincible, but the girl only has 60 health.
It's a really cool idea. I'll consider it or something like it for sure. Thanks!
The day has come, it's time to write a mob suggestion! *Dun dun d-piiiiiii* And of course something gone wrong as always...
But in all seriousness (Not really. Did I just sabotage myself?) there it goes:
*Jinn* (I'm not good in naming things)
As you surely know jinns are spirits from Arabian mythologhy often assiociated with wind and fire, and thanks to Tales of Thousand and One Nights (and certain Disney movie) became more popular. As I was thinking about what this mob could do I thought to myself: "Should he grant wishes? No, overpowered and boring, we have DBC for that. But... Wait!" And then I exactly knew what I want to make. A little warning: describing this mob will be messy.
I see him as wanderer of deserts, dressed in Arabian robes and with... I have no idea what you call this Arabian hat... (something that looks similar to Piccolo's hat okay?) with empty bottles for water. And on his back he has a carpet, really big carpet. You all know what carpet (or divan).
As he wanders trough sand he seeks somebody, anybody to give him at least a small drop of water. That's where you, the player come in.
He would have similar effects as villagers when they're being hited or have trade but this time it will show as soon as he "sees" you and it will be showing you that he begs for water or in that mater anything that you can drink: milk, glass of water, bucket of water or even potions but you don't want give him poison...
If you don't have it he'll go but if you give him something to drink he'll be thankful and give one of few items you can get from him: Emeralds, gold, diamonds, nuggets and finally: Magic dust. There should be a procented chance of getting these. Magic dust can be used to make a magic carpet (or divan, whatever) that can fly. And I have no idea how to balance this.
But you can do something else with this wanderer, what you ask? Attack him of course! I mean, seriously, there's nothing else to do with him. But if you think it will be easy then, oh boy, you're in trouble because it's a Jinn! W-what do you mean there's no suprise? Oh... I wrote this on the top...
Anyway after you attack him or give him potion with bad effect then he gets angry and takes of his hat to reveal a gem (you know Third eye/chakra vibes) and he uses his carpet as a weapon.
Normal melee attacts and one special attack - he unreels his carpet to make wind blows. Not very creative, I know. And suprise, suprise he has second phase.
In this phase he burns down his carpet and reveals his next form which basically - he goes red and uses fire. Fire balls, fire streams and one big fire ball that after hitting leaves fire circle for a few seconds.
Is it over? No exactly. There's one last thing you can make: Magic ring. No, not Lord of the Rings ring, a ring that can absorb a little of Jinn powers: fire or wind, it's radnom (you mast have this ring in your hotbar when Jinn dies). You make this by placing gold nuggets in "circle" shape with a emerald inside. Since emeralds look (for me) as sort of "magical crystal" (Totem of Undying anybody?) it could me some kind of sence. And it gives gold a little more useful.
And that it. Nothing else to say. And I probably wrote too much... Well, what can I say? I tried as much as I could, maybe I'll come up with something better next time.
And as always: Have a nice day! Or night!
I have a loose rule against adding monsters from existing mythologies, but simply giving this a different name would work.
My issue here is that you've layered on many different bits and mechanics that have little to do with each other. Gameplay-wise, the mob is very disjointed. Sorry.
And you thought the Foliaath was bad... (Dumb idea based off of the dynamite tree)
Gevaarte: Sprouting in the summer, these plants emerge with a thunderous cracking, from deep within the ground. These stony plants usually grow with such force that they uproot other plants, and impale mobs. They will produce a flower, which has the effect of luring hostile mobs to act as pollinators. The seed pod is incredibly dangerous, and when fully ripe, will explode and send seeds flying in all directions, potentially piercing armor, in order to grow more plants later on. If a seed hits TNT, it will also detonate that. Weeding them is not an easy task, as they will attempt to impale the player. Pickaxes seem to work easily on them, but all parts of the plant must be removed in order to kill it. After dredging all of the leaves off, the roots must be located, and removed. You could store the resultant corm away, and plant it later, but it will not be tame. It will also slowly spread at the right time.
This sounds more like an attack for a forest-themed boss mob.
It can swim in the sand.when it notice player,it will draw near slowly, and then,it will suddenly leap out of the sand, eat the player and dive into the sand.It also can squirt sand to player.
Here is my idea for a desert themed mob for this mod.
IDEA PART I: Desert Bandits.
These ex-villagers have abandoned the ways of trading in their former homes and have banded together to earn riches the easy way by raiding villages and also attacking the player. Experts on horseback combat, archery and swordsmanship, this raiders of greed attack in groups of up to three to five. One or two will stay back and fire away at you while the others attack with their swords.
They are villagers with the arms and legs of the player, they wear wear brown robes and white turbans to conceal their faces (I'm not sure if it would be possible to have their legs covered as well, that can be up to you) They wield Scimitars, bows and arrows. They attack via hit and run, running in fast to hit you before running away, a different bandit then continues. If a bandit's horse is killed, the bandit will attack with sword or bow.
If only one bandit remains after the others have been killed, then last one will flee, or at least try to.
The can be found in either raiding parties in the desert or in bandit camps, where a bandit leader is also located. They have a chance to drop their Scimitar, bow and/or turban.
IDEA PART II: Desert Bandit Leader
This is the villager who took the other bandits under his wing when they banded together. Teaching them how to fight and also how to pillage and to ride horses. They plan future raids on villages and now, they wish to add you to their enemies list.
The Bandit leader looks much like the normal desert bandit, brown robes, white turban, etc. But, they are much bigger and stockier in build(not fat), the closest I could compare in height it they stand up to the chestpiece of the Ferrous Wroughtnaut. Instead of a horse they ride a "war boar" which is a massive brown boar that can charge its enemy. The bandit leader wields a great-sword in one hand, able to spin-attack when off his war boar. He is able to summon desert bandits with the use of a war horn that he blows into. He is able to throw a block of TNT which does not harm the surrounding area.
Can be found in Bandit hide outs or on raids, has a chance to drop his greatsword, turban, some blocks of TNT, or if your really lucky, his war horn which gives you the ability to summon your own loyal bandits. If you are able..maybe you can even earn his War Boar as a prize as well...
I saw your private message first and responded there.
The name is based on ennead, which refers to a set of nine.
The Ennaedra is a guardian mob that protects a structure of some sort. It carries an orb and shield, and appears to be made out of stone. On it's chest are eight smaller heads facing random directions. The orb glows blue and functions as its weapon.
On it's chest, as well as on its shield, is a nine sided shape divided into nine triangles. Each triangle glows blue.
Stage one:
During stage one, the Ennaedra fights by holding up the orb and firing an energy beam in the direction of the player. The player must dodge these beams. The Ennaedra roars when it shoots, with the smaller heads on its chest doing the same. When fired, blue lines on the orb glow and make the orb resemble an eye. After five beams are shot, it moves on to stage two.
Stage two:
During stage two, the Ennaedra kneels down and raises its shield. It becomes indestructible. Before it finishes the kneeling animation, it rips a head off of it's chest and throws it to the side. The shield will have eight triangles glowing, with one dim and faded.
This head quickly grows a full body, appearing similar to the full Ennaedra but much smaller. It fights the player with a spear and shield. On the shield is a blue glowing triangle, just like the one on the main Ennaedra's shield.
When the Ennaedra spawn is killed, stage one happens again. Each time you go through stages one and two, one less triangle appears. When only one remains, the Ennaedra kneels one last time and becomes inert.
Ideally the Ennaedra would be guarding a dungeon or perhaps vanilla strongholds. When you defeat it, the player is told that they are permitted to pass. When the Ennaedra is inert, it becomes a block and looks like a decoration. When a new player visits the area, they will be required to fight the boss again.
what about the kraken legend say i don't really know our a yeti legend says that when you are lost during a blizzard a yeti take you to his cave im sorry im really bad at stories

I can see this being a cool mob. It doesn't stand out as a priority any time soon though. Thanks.

I do have plans for a yeti-like mob and a kraken-like mob.

I don't know if this is a problem with my game, Optifine, your mod, or some other mod I have, but the Wroughtnaut Helm and one of the Barakoa mask's don't have textures or models. They just come up as either pink squares or black and pink squares, it's different every time I load the game. Could you know what's going on here?

Use LLibrary 1.7.2 as instructed on the OP. This will be fixed soon.
they are the rival tribe to the barakoa, and they inhabit the jungle. they sneakily stalk players from the trees and such, the only thing that will alert you of their presence is the glowing red eyes.
(plus mowzie i think they should worship the moon & have their own village with a Moon Chieftain, bearing silver/iron bracelets and skull adornments all over his body xP)
The "Arabian hat" you were thinking of is called a Turban.
In 1.10, foliaath seeds could be planted in plants. (Tall grasses and flowers, saplings)
You're a lifesaver.
Well actually, you led to my death. But that's besides the point.

If this mod ever gets to the 1.12 stage you will need to definetly add some different types of Illagers.

This is a known issue with 1.7.4 of llibrary. Download 1.7.2.
Praise be Ro-naza, greatest among the thaumaturges!
It's a really cool idea. I'll consider it or something like it for sure. Thanks!
I'm not sure yet... Sorry.

I do plan on making some sort of sand worm!
Thanks!
I have not started the Frostmaw.
Nah, I'd rather focus on new mobs than iterating on vanilla content.
Yeah, this will be fixed soon. Downgrade to LLibrary 1.7.2 in the meantime.

You installed LLibrary, yes? Which version?
