Doesn't have streams a config file where i can set the wide, length, arms, how often they generate etc. from the streams?
If u haven't.. are u planning to implement it? Because i like to have more variations and more overall rivers. If i found a river they look almost everytime same and all are short rivers instead going to a full continent (i'm using RTG aswell).
Edit:
Another question.. do you working also an water pressure?
The current system generates currents within a "cell" that is 16 chunks by 16 chunks. The streams must be contained within that size. Changing that would require a full redesign.
Otherwise, I don't think any of that can be configured currently, and I don't know how much it could be without a redesign.
Streams has no concept of water pressure; I don't even see how you could do a concept of water pressure. What were you thinking of?

Idea/oddball request: If you are going to do another 1.7.10 release, can you put a special "stream head" block at the tip ends of streams? This is explicitly for realistic flowing fluids -- I think I came up with a way to solve the "infinite world flooding" concern that I had before (an expanded water cycle that includes evaporation, as well as ground soakage. I was planning soakage, and the rest is just tuning/balancing.)
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Nah for me it looks everything is right like the area should be. The chunks with stone lakes looks equal and have no diference between border chunks. Therefore i was wondering how it could be and was thinking about to make an "simply trick" (the picture: instead of stone tell Streams to insert a new block called: dried earth).
So streams look more realistic aswell.
I uploaded some a screenshot from another map:
Nice oasis in desert would be really cool with water but no water and just stone: http://prntscr.com/bm0oah
Could you list all of your mods? I'm running into this issue as well, and the RTG devs claim it isn't their fault, and think it might be something else. I thought maybe it was SGUBetterGeo, but I'm probably the only person in these forums using that mod... so I want to cross reference your mods with mine to see which common mods we have and work from there to find the culprit.
I added some more now but the problem was also seen by that listened mods.
We both might be slight idiots, here.
Do me a favor, and do this:
- Generate a world with cobblestone streams, and locate one.
- Install MobiusCore
- Copy the first world/use the same seed, and relocate the stream.
- Report back here if the world has cobblestone streams or not after installing MobiusCore.
So far, I can't get a world with them. ACT requires MobiusCore, but will still launch without it. I noticed ACT's pregen function was causing some issues with world gen, like not properly generating SGUBetterGeo world gen stuff, but thought it it was an issue with ACT. After installing MobiusCore, it seems like SGUBetterGeo is properly generating its stuff with the pregen command, and I don't see any cobblestone streams.
I noticed that your modlist doesn't include MobiusCore, so that might be required for the pregen command (and ACT in general) to function correctly. I think even without running the pregen command, ACT without MobiusCore might cause some issues.
just curious will there be a fix for the crashing of boats on 1.10 soon?? I know I know the version we have right now is not even expose to be for 1.10 but its work wonderful besides that lol either way love the mod keep up the great work!

Hi Snipe, there's no config file currently but the new re-written Streams will certainly have one, with world- and dimension-specific options. River size will also be configurable although laying them out is resource-intensive at larger sizes, and they don't share zones so larger rivers will mean fewer of them.
Water pressure is not in the plans - as much as I love it in Dwarf Fortress, such games have the luxury of working on bounded local maps and we don't in Minecraft.

I'm working on the 1.10 port, I expected it to be straightforward but there's a Forge bug affecting my mods that needs to be fixed first (https://github.com/MinecraftForge/MinecraftForge/issues/3043). Once this is resolved I should be able to release soon after.
I'm running Streams in 1.10.2 and they appear purple on Journymap's minimap. In my 1.7.10 setups they're blue. Journeymap api issue maybe?
I have no control over coloring in map mods unfortunately - if they look at Water as a block material it should work fine, but if they look for specific Water block IDs they won't recognize the custom Streams river blocks. It's something they would have to change on their end if they deem it important.
I think they made it that way for a reason I kind of like them being purple you know exactly where the actual stream is just my way of looking at it hehe makes them stand out more.

Thanks for the response! once again great mod keep up the great work! will await the fixes needed for streams 1.10 can't wait!
i've been using streams in 1.10 since it came out seems to be working just fine
It works fine for me in 1.10 too, until I place a boat in the water, then the game locks up and crashes.
It truly is a lovely mod that adds a lot to the MC experience though. Nice work!
Got cobblestone streams again! I reported it over on RTG, since it seems like it's their issue, but I figured I'd give you the heads up Delvr

Same for me. placing boats crashs game.
Interesting, I didn't even expect the 1.9.4 version to work with 1.10. I'll look into this boat crash while I prepare the 1.10 version.

awesome cant wait to put streams back in adds so much beauty to the game not mention actual flowing streams.

Forge 1.10.2-12.18.0.2007
Streams 1.9.4-0.2
Farseek 1.9.4-1.1
Journeymap 1.10.2-5.2.4-unlimited (also tried on 1.9.4-5.2.3)
Thanks for making Streams available, it's a must have in my personal packs

Can you please update the 1.7.10 version?
I use 1.7.10 for the little I use 1.7.10 streams work flawless did I miss something?
Stream is way to rare.
There is only 1 stream in a 1000 block mesa biome.
