Hello! Since you're here, I assume you like Sirens! I do too. I always wanted to add sirens into my Minecraft worlds, but all of the mods that added sirens were for older versions of Minecraft. So, armed with no knowledge of modding, and with Google working overtime, I researched at long lost for how to make a 1.6.4 Minecraft Mod. I was overjoyed when I managed to add a simple red block into the game, and I vowed that someday, in the distant future, I would make a siren block. Unbeknownst to me, that day was only a few days after my little red block was created. My first siren wasn't all that great, (very short sound file, you couldn't stop the sound, the siren's range was only about 4 blocks, etc.) but I was so proud of my creation I decided to share it with the Minecraft community. The community's requests have fueled my little mod, and have made it what it is today... SirenMod!
I am currently looking for people to help Beta Test new versions of SirenMod before they are released to the Minecraft Community. Please PM me if you are interested.
You hereby have my express permission to redistribute an UNALTERED and INTACT copy of my mod (SirenMod) in any private or public modpacks. You may NOT distribute any of my source code, in whole or in part, without my express written permission. You may NOT distribute altered versions of my mod (SirenMod). You may NOT take credit for any of my work. So basically, I don't care if you use my mod in your modpack, as long as it hasn't been altered! Actually, I hope you do! You don't need to ask me, although I would like to know what modpack you are making, just out of curiosity. Also, please don't distribute or use my source code! If you send me a PM and ask how I implemented a feature in my mod, I will more than likely send you some of my source code anyways.
I'd like to thank the YouTubers that made these amazing mod showcases for me!
It seems like a pretty good mod, although why 1.6.4? Modding for is it pretty much almost dead, and many users are moving to 1.7.10 to mod. I recommend you update this mod to 1.7.10 and I bet more people would enjoy it. Can Sirens also be coloured to other colours, besides Red, Yellow, Blue, and grey?

Are the small ones based on the Carter air raid sirens? Looks awsome btw
Edit: So after using it here is 1 problem I noticed, The nuclear siren sound does not sound real. This is a test of a real nuclear siren: (starts when it loads, be warned)
Edit2: now another prob, after a second of the audio playing, even if still powered it stops making sound
This was intentional. I went with a Modern Warfare type Nuke sound, because most people would not recognize the difference between an air raid siren and a nuclear siren. This is the same reason I didn't add an "All clear" siren.

This is the first mod I have ever made, and so at this time I don't know how to make a sound loop while powered by a redstone current. The sound will play through once, and then stop. You can make a redstone clock that will loop it in game with repeaters.
Yes, I tried my best to make them look like the Carter sirens while still keeping them "blocky."
Well, then I found a problem. You have them being made with speakers, they dont use speakers. Here is 1 being used: . As you can see, it uses a metal cylinder with holes in it, and makes it spins VERY VERY fast. The sound is fine though, because of how they make the ye old recognized sound, they had it go full speed, then let is slow down on its own, then full speed and repeat. You can have the iron placed in a X patern

Haha I know how they worked, I actually have a miniature one on my desk. I just figured that using speakers made more sense to more people. If you'd like, I'll change the recipe in the next version.

You dont have to if you dont want to. Off topic: Where did you get the mini one, I would like to get one too

I Was Using An NPC As Siren But Think That This Mod Could Be More Effective
Thanks! I am currently updating it to 1.7.2 and 1.7.10. Ironically, the only thing that didn't work after the update was the sounds!
I am adding the ability to dye the sirens to all of the colours in Minecraft. Also, look forward to more sirens in the next update!

Could you please give me an example of such machines? Like a siren controller?
