I just discovered that when the casting table or basin cools, it causes a block update! I just hooked up a BUD to my casting table and now it runs at maximum speed no matter what I'm casting, with the only input needed being me starting the pouring!
I'd like to see how you've got that rigged up. Right now, one of the things I'm struggling to do is find a nice way of automating pouring. I'm using a rather crude vanilla clock, so it's quite tedious. (The sort with two repeaters circling into each other with a bit of redstone, give it a quick pulse, have to break it to stop the clock)
Question for the tinkers construct for 1.10.2 with out extra materials added how do you mine cobalt & ardite? i have a iron pick with a diamond upgrade... but that is obsidian level and it looks like i need to be one mining level higher...
So how do i mine this stuff O_o
Obsidian tool heads will give you a cobalt mining level, and albeit I haven't tested sharpening stones yet, I assume an obsidian sharpening stone would do the same. Keep in mind, unlike how obsidian worked in the past, you just use it as the material in the part builder. You don't have to smelt it down and pour it, anymore.
So while exploring some desert temples, I found an item called 'incredibly hard wheat sticks' which 'need to be soaked in water' to be edible. I'm fairly certain that it's from this mod, but not 100% sure because none of my mods mentions these 'wheat sticks'. Does anyone know what these are?
At first, I thought they'd turn into wheat if I drop them in water or craft them with a water bucket, but apparently not.
I think I saw someone suggesting trying a cauldron filled with water, maybe experiment with that? I haven't come across any, yet, but hopefully it's good advice to pass on.
With the newer Tinkers Construct versions removing copper and tin and aluminum (and possibly others that I've forgotten), can anyone recommend a mod that adds all of the removed ores back in? All I really want is those ores back, so preferably not some super big tech mod or anything along those lines.

There's a couple, Substratem is one whose name I know off the top of my head, it just adds a bunch of ores for commonly used metals, you can configure it to only generate tin, aluminum, and copper if you wanted.

It's not the cauldron, but rather, the casting table. About 3 buckets of water, then wait for a really long time. Then you hang it up and dry it for a really long time, then you cook it in a furnace.(instructions are easier to guess after the first step)
That seems to be it. It does say 'needs sauce, but has to be red', but I have yet to find out what that's supposed to mean. Possibly, the treasure map I found leads to sauce, but I don't think that's all too likely.

Heh, basically this is spaghetti, without sauce.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
Perhaps it could be crafted with Harvestcraft's tomato to make HC spaghetti?
Harvestcraft and TiC aren't integrated with each other...

Before you post something on the Tinkers' Construct thread... please read this.
If you have a crash log, READ it before posting it (and if you do, use spoilers). Some stuff should be obvious to where it comes from. Try reproducing the same thing with only Tinkers' Construct or Mantle on vanilla Forge (please do make sure that you're using the latest TiC and Mantle versions). If it still does happen, report it to the issue tracker (Yes, you have to sign up... but it's not that hard).
Last but not least, please do not ask for unsupported versions (1.7.10, 1.8.9) or ask for non-existent ones (1.8)!
wonder if there is a way to have a set amount of fluid pumped into the Tic Smelter with each red stone signal.
I have some iron drums from extra utilities 2 and wonder if any one knows a way to be able to pump a controlled amount of fluids from the drums into the tic smelter via a red stone signal or machine interface.
Just cause it would be cool to be able to rig the smelter up

I'm going to try out a few things, and if none of them work, I'm placing it back on the casting table and pouring blood all over it.(once I get enough rotten flesh that is)

Hmmm, blood as sauce. Nice idea.

Is there a config setting to activate the tabs for connected tinker stations like 1.8.9 had or was that dropped in the 1.10.2 version? Also why was the ability to link to chests below a crafting table removed?
Hello. I've recently attempted to add a Diamond Hammer from Ex Nihilo Omnia to a Tinker's Hammer to give it the Hammered modifier, but the game crashes every time. I've scoured the web looking for a solution, but it seems I'm the only one with this problem. This leads me to believe it's something stupid I'm doing. Here is the crash report:

Let me know if I should be directing this to Ex Nihilo Omnia's thread or any of the other ones for the mods listed. Thanks!
You're right, I had to roll back to 2.4.0, a beta version. I was able to get the Hammered modifier, but this was before Scythes were added, so it isn't completely preferable. Oddly, though, Ex Nihilo Omnia's most recent update is the one that added these modifiers, but this was uploaded a day after 2.5.5.
I took a closer look at shuriken and their descriptions, and how they fare against bows and arrows. As a result, I think shuriken could use more ammo and less range. And possibly less damage.
These are the reasons I arrived at this conclusion.
Firstly, on the tool forge, it describes shuriken as a 'fast, short ranged weapon with high quantities but low damage'
Well it's certainly fast, and it does have low damage(well, mostly. If you compare it to a fully-drawn bow).
However, it's not really that short range. I mean, it does have a shorter range than a bow.
But, it can reach just over 33 blocks, and can reliably reach 27 blocks away without much effort.
Most mobs won't even notice you at half this distance, and even against players, unless you happen to be sniping at someone from really far away or shooting someone who's on a really tall tower, the bow's longer distance won't really mean much.
In fact, because a shuriken has very little drop until it hits the 27-ish mark, it's much more reliable than a bow, which has a bigger drop.
Also, a shuriken is said to have 'high quantities'
However, a full stack of arrows is 64 shots. Out of 27 shuriken types(mixed materials/modifiers not counted) only 9 has more than 64 ammo, out of those 9, 3 only have around 10 more. Of the remaining 6, only 3 have more ammo than two stacks of arrows. Nearly all of these require end-game materials
Out of the 18 shuriken with less ammo than a stack of arrows, 10 have less ammo than half a stack of arrows, and 4 has around 20 less shots than a stack of arrows. The remaining 4 fall short by about 10.
Of course you need both mods for 1.7.10.
Also you'd need Forge 1614.
I think I saw someone suggesting trying a cauldron filled with water, maybe experiment with that? I haven't come across any, yet, but hopefully it's good advice to pass on.
The game crashes when I try to load Tinkers' Construct with Traincraft. It recently updated and it used to be one of my favorite mods.
I've talked about this with the Traincraft dev already and they said it looks like it's something on Tinkers' Construct's end.
Crash Report: http://pastebin.com/Bb6Zjirj
Something with projectiles from TiC. Any ideas? It works fine on it's own, but with the presence of Traincraft it takes a dump on itlsef.

It's called "Mom's spaghetti", so....
Still looking for that sauce.

Hi
I created my map under worldpainter, and I would like to know what minerals add to be fully compatible with your mod?
If necessary, should I add Mods? Which?
For information I play in 1.10.2
Thank you
