So you're going to complete a massive update for 1.7.10 and then just port it for 1.8? If so, then that should be quick, because I really want this modification for 1.8.
May not be "quick". 1.8 is a really bad update on the site of models, but I can just use the Vanilla Chest model, so we're all good. Not like BuildCraft, they would need I think it was estimated at about 28million blockstates and model files just for the PIPES alone. Puts stuff into perspective.
inb4 anyone: That would be about 1GB - 3GB of files just to get BuildCraft pipes. Everyone is waiting for forge to get a better rendering system
Crashed hard when I tried using this with my modpack I'm putting together. Couldn't find anything about incompatible mods so figured I'd just drop this reort and see if you could help. For some reason the crafting recipe doesn't work to make the chest so I spawned one in via creative and when I right click to open, it crashed my game/server.

I think I have found an ingame bug in 1.9.0.17:
I wanted to pick up just one half of a stack iron ingots out of a sextuple chest by right clicking on that stack.
As I placed down the half stack in my inventory the remaining half stack in the sextuple chest changed to just one iron ingot.
I placed the half iron ingot stack from my inventory back to the same slot in the sextuple chest. Now that remaining single iron ingot was also lost and only the half iron ingot stack from my inventory was shown in that slot.
This is repeatable.
Moving the whole stack into my inventory, splitting it there and placing one half of the stack back into the chest works fine.
Also vanilla chests aren't affected by this bug.
Please check this out before you release the new version of your mod.
I can confirm this is fixed in the new version. You will have to wait a bit for it currently though.
using extra utilities transfer nodes on some items that are vanilla minecraft items that have a definite location the items fill a stack even if a stack is not the chest to begin with and then just continuously places stack after stack after stack of that item into the chest without moving onto the next item
