Great mod! I made a mod spotlight for this and would SUPER appreciate it if you could feature it on the forum page :D. Thanks for the awesome mod and keep them coming. If you want me to do any future mod spotlights feel free to message me and I would love to help you out,
Good spotlight, thanks! I've added this in the original post as a featured spotlight
I don't mean to sound arrogant or entitled, but would it be possible get a version of this mod that works in tandem with the motionjoy mod, so hotbar switching can be accessed on a controller? I am new to the whole mod scene, so I don't know if there is one. I searched the whole thread to make sure I knew this wasn't covered before. I feel like I am wording this weirdly or sound like an asshole, but I think it would be cool if there was a version for people who play with controllers (even though that's a minority). Otherwise I love the mod, and would use it.

Motionjoy makes you able to bind controller keys inside minecraft, right? You could try going into the quick hotbar mod in-game settings menu and binding your controller keys to the ones you want to use to switch between inventory rows. Let me know how it goes!
Sorry, it has taken me so long to reply. With different timezones and all, you posted while I was sleeping. The reason I posted here was that I pressed control+m, went to keybindings (I'm fine doing those parts with a keyboard and mouse, since once the keybindings are set, I'll never need to go there again), and was able to, how should I say this, click on the options to reset the keys with my controller, but, from there, I could not bind the mod to my controller. I'm sorry if that at all came off as haughty. I'm not here looking to make people do work. Only giving suggestions. I'm sure creating mods is confusing enough as is.

Yup, Finland is probably pretty far away from your location I think what you can do is to go to motionjoy settings / profiles and bind key that you want to use (like for example J, L...) to some key in your gamepad (like for example reset button). Then go to quick hotbar in-game settings menu and bind using your keyboard the same key. I do not have a PS3 controller myself so cannot test it out myself, but I presume this would work as the software seems to just trigger keyboard keys when you press the corresponding gamepad keys.

East Coast United States, so yes Finland is rather far.
I wish I could show you the game screen, since it will be a bit hard to describe, but I can't get my game out of fullscreen mode to use my snipping tool (trying to do so will just turn the monitor black). Basically what motionjoy does is add an extra page to your minecraft control scheme. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think what you said was to go to the keybindings page of quick hotbar and make the modifier a key, then link the key to a button on the controller. It does not link controller buttons to keys, but rather to actions. To give an example, it is not "left stick up=w=move forward," but more "left stick up=move forward." I think if the key bindings page of the quick hotbar menu went to the natural minecraft control menu, motionjoy would make it an option on the controller menu. I am not one hundred percent sure, but OptiFine's zoom feature showed up on the motionjoy menu when I think it would otherwise be on the controls page. I don't know if it is motionjoy that recognizes mods, or if it is mods that are programmed to work with motionjoy. I think it is the former, but to be recognized, I think it just needs to be on the minecraft controls page.
Thanks for going through this with me! I don't think other modders would try to help as much as you!

I never did, and you don't need to do anything, whether it be at this moment or in the future. I was only giving suggestions to appeal to broader audience, although I am unsure how many people actually with a controller without buying the PS3/PS4/Xbox360/XboxOne version.

This mod seems interesting and has potential, but its pretty buggy right now. Sometimes while using this mod items will get duplicated or even just disappear out of my inventory. Until these bugs are resolved i would recommend using the dual hotbar mod. Keep working on this mod, it has great potential and if you can fix all the bugs i will gladly replace the dual hotbar mod with this mod.

Do you happen to use backpack mod or something similar? This mod doesn't really like those as they are custom inventory stuff.

I've experienced those kinds of glitches, but ever so rarely. I do have a backpack mod (BetterStorage's Ender Backpack), but it has its own GUI and inventory.

Yeah, I can see the mod sometimes glitching out in rare situations as it sends a lot of data to server in one chunk and it's hard to revalidate back in client that everything went smoothly as server actually handles player inventories. I presume your inventory can sometimes go off-sync in rare situations if you for ex. switch inventory rows and at the same millisecond you'll get a block from the ground and the mod is sorting your inventory at the same time you are getting a new block in your inventory.
I'll have to think a bit if there is a way to revalidate the data in some way.
If I helped you in any way or agree in my ideas or posts, make sure you click that green arrow pointing up below my post or simply huggle me! I use 1.7.10 (Modded), so when I comment that I like a 1.8 mod, I will comment to downgrade to 1.7.10. I support no pics, no clicks. Suggestions that I think that are the best deserves a banner!
It is almost time to say goodbye to 1.7.10 because of the recent surge of big 1.9 mods.
Why MCreator sucks: jcm2606's file (doesn't open a new tab) He allows/welcomes anyone to link the file, so I put it here in my signature for people to know how MCreator functions. I thank jcm2606 (he's awesome) for creating the document/file and I'm just here to spread the word.
Is there any chance of getting this mod to work on NoCheatPlus servers? If not, could you tell us the checks that would have to be modified to make it work?
EDIT: Looks like it's blocked by the FastClick check.

I'll dig into this. I did build the mod for 1.8 long time ago so there could be bugs nowadays. Are you running latest 1.8 Forge and standard 1.8 Forge server or is that Spigot something special?

I'll dig into this. I did build the mod for 1.8 long time ago so there could be bugs nowadays. Are you running latest 1.8 Forge and standard 1.8 Forge server or is that Spigot something special?
Added support for Minecraft 1.8.9. You can download new build from here!
