Aha! I looked over the COG documentation but must have missed the part about /custom (having not used COG before, and not really being used to being a modpack author). I've got it working now, thanks for the pointer.
Recently I've been working on a technical terrafirmacraft pack. It shares many common goals with this mod, like realistic style progression, chemistry, engineering, space exploration, etc.

In fact I would like to know if I can use PFAA as the pack name, since it matches best the goal.
Thank you!
Impressive diagram, that sounds like something I'd like to play. I'm flattered that you like the name, but doesn't it seem strange to name a pack after a mod, especially if the pack (I'm assuming) does not contain the mod?
I have a fairly large modpack, although there are a few issues. However when i am trying to install your mod i often have lags in worldgen and lag i didnt have before. I have Gregtech, Geostra and Underground biomes as well as tropicraft among tons of other tech mods. The issue is the following;
Gregrech ore does not generate in your blocks, granted ik this is a feature but its a feature that throws me off. TBH the main thing i like from your mod is the limonie and sand ores as perhaps they are among the most useful things in the mod. Could perhaps we get a light version or perhaps work with greg on this? I really love the ore viens, the only problem is that gt viens stop where your stone begins. I usually use gt for ores beyond the ones that you have (iridium, adamntine, topaz, etc.

There are options during world setup that might let you get what you want. Greg generates his ores in the Nether when PFAA is enabled.
Gregs new update allows generation in your stones and it is amazing. So small ores are now a thing. I have 3 main concentrations of ore now. Yours and that engineering mod's bauxite. Gt Viens, and finally small ores. One large issue though i cant find laterites anywhere i have litterally tried nuking swamps but i found absolutley 0 limonite and this is getting ridiculous. Litterally quarrying some swamps out of existence for a final ultimatum but i am yet to find a single laterite block. There is peat but there is no limonite. This is sort of getting ridiculous. Perhaps you accidently disabled it in the worldgen. Also if you get it working again can you configure it to generate in shale in general as well. Limonite and bauxite are actually some of the most common ores out there.

The deposits are large, so once you find it, you've got a lot of it, but the initial find can be difficult. It's a good suggestion that garnet sand and perhaps other blocks could drop gems. Something for the TODO list.
found the problem. the range of the generation is like 4 blox. I mean it could be increased. Both and down by like 8 considering it only generates in swamps. Considering most of the swamp is water under 62 (which is the lower limit)
lateritew should obviously generate right beneath the water surface but in the current state it does not.
i edited the config from the mods file itself. I set the lower balue to 56 and the higher to 76 this way limonite generates under the swamp as well on the hills
one thing that makes no sense is that many of the blocks drop copper nuggets. While native copper does exist shouldent there be other metals that spawn as well. Alunite, bauxite, banded iron small dusts (use gts) should have a far higher chance of coming from these rocks than copper (which is far rarer
Also makes no sense flint sio2 comes from limestone caco3.

There are only a few blocks that drop copper nuggets. The rate might be too high. I like the idea of dropping some tiny dusts while harvesting blocks.

Flint is commonly associated with limestone. The limestone block is meant to represent natural occurrence of limestone and associated minerals, not pure CaCO3.
apparebtly even with gt there is no means to process your clay like ores. Linonite/bauxite/etc so could we perhaps get some kind of blast furnace for limonite and a way to turn bauxite into gt bauxite.

Hello noogenesis,
Recently I've been working on a technical terrafirmacraft pack. It shares many common goals with this mod, like realistic style progression, chemistry, engineering, space exploration, etc.
Here is a flowchart for the petrochemical production system I've designed: http://i.imgur.com/MmDTHyG.jpg
In fact I would like to know if I can use PFAA as the pack name, since it matches best the goal.
Thank you!

I think that it's rather the common spirit that matters, but it depends on your decision
Feel free to name it however you want.
Ok thank you! I'll send you a word when the pack is published.
Just a teaser for now http://i.imgur.com/knjSuw9.jpg

Garnet sand drops nuggets? why nuggets? Why not Garnet if gregtech is active it would make far more sense

didnt know that last part tbh but perhaps a slightly lower rate? I really need limestone for the iron
now that i tweaked the config a bit i actually saw one vien in the swamp and one in the jungle. So it works now but it wasnt before

i love how your mod generated like old gt4 its actually phenomenal. Say coupd we perhaps get the following ores
tetrahedrite; existed in gt4, another ore of copper
sheldonite; platinum
ruby near chromite mts and redstone
sapphire near alumina, bauxite and mts
iridium; very rare spawn in sheldonite
or perhaps you have a development team and i could help add new ores and the alike.
also why are alumina viens so small rather than a few blocks in size
You could actually just use CustomOreGen to set that up. I don't think it belongs in Geologica itself.
Are there big reasons for build mod from github/master? Or i still need to use last release?
