1. After killing Mergo's Wet Nurse.
2. Can be found in the Abandoned Old Workshop.
3. Killing the baby Arianna gives birth to in Tomb of Oedon sewers or killing her at Iosefka Clinic if you brought her there (after killing Micolash, Host of the Nightmare). (Missable)
4. Dropped by Iosefka in her clinic in 1st Floor Sick Room through the entrance from the Forbidden Woods once Rom, the Vacuous Spider has been defeated, as long as you didn't kill her prior to the boss fight. (Missable)
Uhm, yes, Minecraft stores your Thaumcraft research data and Baubles inventory in files that are named after your alphabetical username. Unlike your normal inventory, location and other capabilities, which get stored in a file named after your UUID. So if you change your user-name, you will either have to start over, or you will have to change the file-names of those files.
Should store it by UUID.

I wish it went back to storing it in the player.dat like it used to. All these external files are just vectors for errors.
IIRC, the problem was that occasional corruption in the Thaumcraft data was making some players' game permanently unloadable; Azanor moved it out to a separate file so that afflicted users could at least recover the world by deleting just the TC-specific data (losing their research, but not their inventory, location, etc).

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
Still, using the UUID instead of the player name is as simple as changing exactly 1 line of code.
ISTR that he actually did start off using the UUID, but there was some problem with that, I don't remember the details. And on the flip side, it's easy enough to rename the file.

And that corruption was a bug that was fixed before the switch to UUIDs even and yet we are still inflicted with its after effects.
is there any chance to force generate thaumcraft structures at another dimensions like twilight forest. 1.7.10 verison.
i'll cant find obelisks and crimson cult in twiligh, and otherworld looks like rare flying isles and there is hard to find any structure.
That would be on the other mod author. For example: 1.6.4 TC used to generate trees in the Aroma1997 mining dimension. Starting in 1.7.10, Aroma1997 stopped the generation of all non-mined TC items in the mining dimension.
although it is harder to unlock research in tc 5 it is more enjoyable and adds a challenge when the research takes a little more time and brain power to unlock.
So after researching a bunch of things again I decided to just delete the playername files so I could get my old research back, because getting all the researches would be time consuming and messes up warp anyway.
Two questions:
1. Is warp stored in those <username>.thaum files as well? I'm pretty sure they would be.
2. I have the capability now to research Advanced Golems, which are Taboo level warp. How much warp exactly do I need to unlock the Eldritch tab?
Full warp meter. Must be perm or sticky warp, I think. Weirdly enough, I actually gobbled a bunch of zombie brains and got it. If the meter shows a cracked brain, it's full.
So, Eldritch, you think I am incapable of seeing your secrets? NOT WHEN I SHIFT INTO MAXIMUM OVERWARP!

OK, gonna research that golem stuff then. Probably not going to actually use it as I heard that advanced golems make death threats/evil remarks sometimes and I don't want my golems doing it (I want them to like me or at least be locked in a state of neutral servitude...). Just want to do it for the warp
The golem comments were quite alarming the first time I encountered them, but they seem to be flavor text -- I never saw any actual sign of rebellion or even disobedience.

Nope, sanity checker is an unlockable research before the Eldritch tab. Has been since TC4, and I had it well before I had the Eldritch tab.

From my online research that is true. I know that they aren't really going to rebel (and if they did my bane of arthropods IV sword would rip them to shreds) but Thaumcraft is meant to be an immersive mod. You're supposed to have the feel of growing power, and the growing insanity it comes with. Likewise, you're supposed to have the feel of creating polite golem minions who will happily do your bidding. If you give them zombie brains for enhanced power, you have the feel of them "not plotting nothing" and "not knowing anything about an uprising" against you because you did. Same stuff with some of the "mess with your mind" warp effects.
That's the core of TC, greater power comes with greater evil. And I'm all for greater power, just not for my golems who fish out my supper. (Or will fish out my supper. I have not actually animated my flesh golem yet, and am in the process of getting the essentia for the fishing core)
EDIT: Did that taboo research. How much more warp is taboo warp, and how many other taboo items are there
I believe that there are only two taboo level researches in thaumcraft if I recall correctly. However it is not the warp of single researches that matter but what they all add up to(all though taboo warp sounds really bad it is worth 5 warp, two moderates are worth 3 I think so two moderates are worse than one taboo).

it's coming along, not sure how much I can say. so far, so good. The new tweaks are fun.

I believe that there are only two taboo level researches in thaumcraft if I recall correctly.
