You know, i kinda want to just dump my ideas.

Vis can be drug out of the air into a liquid form (so can Taint) and used in arcane devices. These arcane devices do require foci in order to do what they are intended to do instead of spitting out flux (Magical version of things exploding, causes havoc with both Vis and Taint levels in an area) all over the place. Some thaumic devices can handle pure vis just fine and only require foci for certain functions (the infuser itself being a prime example.)

Foci are attuned to one of the six primals, and instead of immediately being used up in crafting they have a "charge." If they run out of this "charge," they turn into depleted crystals which then can be rejuvenated once again and have uses of their own.

Wands use these primal foci in sets of three for vastly different effects... say Ordo Ignius Ignius creates a fire shield around you and Aer Perdito Aqua has a chain lightning effect.

Sometimes you just have to flail your wand and some thaumaturgist's salt at things in certain patterns in order to create something. Not everything can be crafted with some vis and prayer.

Well, as I said though, the Thaumeter is mainly early stage stuff(Unless that changes) so if you can't get its model back don't sweat it.
I mean if you can then awesome, but it if you can't then don't sweat it.

Hey I am trying to make recipes using the banners using lootplusplus mod, however when I use the correct color NBT the recipe does not work.

Which NBT value corresponds to the item form of the banners?

Example:

Thaumcraft:ItemLeggingsCultistPlate_____1_____0_____{}_____minecraft:iron_leggings_____0_____{}_____Thaumcraft:blockWoodenDevice_____8_____{color:-1b}_____

My only concern with new research is completion clickfest. Make it autocomplete when the page is opened.

I am curious, where did you get the inspiration for the brilliant magic system in this mod?

Well regardless if you based the observations, field notes and theories on my suggestions or you came up with it on your own, I'm always glad to help with ideas.

What if you don't want it to use up your field notes, because you are saving them for some other research, or if it's a forbiden knowledge?

Use the /lppnbtdump command while holding the banner item. You should be able to get the NBT data from that.

Because if one were to ask me, I have mixed feelings. I find them a bit distant from the main theme of the mod. They also cause some inconsistencies. like when making a mob farm, and have the unlucky mighty mob kill your golem.

On the other side they can make certain mobs like spiders just a bit more challenging then the usual easy to defeat regular spider. They also make every boss fight just a bit different from the last one.

I like the idea of the champion tags, but I agree that having them show up everywhere is a little bit... inconsistent with the rest of the mod's theme. You know what I'd like? If normal champion mobs were removed, but Thaumcraft bosses and such kept their champion status. That way the boss fights keep their variety, but the theme of the mod isn't disrupted. (After all, most if not all of the bosses are in the Outer Lands, and having them have strange and unique powers wouldn't be too much of a stretch considering the demented nature of the dimension in general.)

I wouldn't remove normal champions entirely, maybe just have them spawn nearby an eldritch monolith?

Personally I wish Champion mobs were more common, I like having a good fight with someone without just 1/2 shotting them, the Fortress Armor and other offensive items are barely used besides the Outerlands in Single player.
It's why before I suggested making more combat/instance like things play into Thaumcraft like sieging a ancient Library for a new "Break through" or something so that single player people could have a reason to craft these things.

I'd love it if I could find a champion that spawns like 30 zombies or something.

Also, Champions drop those awesome little bags!
I need those so much because I need to melt down ender pearls for Alienis and stuff.

Though I can see why others don't enjoy them.

I'd suggest making them some config related thing.

[Edit]: Maybe make champion mods different, like so they don't randomly spawn, but you can try going on some quest to hunt one down and find them, I mean we have treasure now, I know it wouldn't work the same, but going out on a quest to slay an evil whatever sounds fun.

Nitpicks from your friendly neighborhood grammar-mage (not meant to offend):
At 4:29 you have written in the book "Such strange wonders is being revealed to me". This should be "Such strange wonders are being revealed to me", as "wonders" (the subject of the sentence) is a plural. That, or the s should be dropped.
At the same time, in the same paragraph even, you accidentally wrote "...this Vis is the books calls it", which is a simple mistake; should be "this Vis as the book calls it", turning is into as and dropping the s from books.
And... I think that's it, actually. In that video.

I gotta say, Azanor; this is looking like an even better idea. Yeah you're still making things, and now you can sacrifice specific items FOR research... I think it looks like it'll be a lot more interesting.
