So there isn't any place to see updates or if it's happening? I know mod authors don't like being bugged, but I don't see anywhere it even confirms how long, if it's even going to be for 1.10, or if it's even still being developed. Is there not a place to find information like that?
Look up posts by Azanor. He doesn't really post outside of the Thaumcraft and Baubles threads.
True. I just tend to have issues with the bloody search engine while on mobile so searching Azanor was what I went with automatically.
I tend to have issues with the search engine no matter what platform. It's been ages since I've last needed to find something with it so it might have been fixed, but I rather doubt it.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
Not seeing any news or dialog about updates. Just wondering if there's anywhere to check for ETA regarding 1.10? Or if it's even happening. Thanks!
Agreed, the search feature on the forum is pretty bad. But the notification icon in the upper-right tells you about new posts to subscribed threads, and you autosubscribe when you post to a thread. This can be overridden with the Tools menu for a thread, and/or your own Options page. I gather Azanor also posts to Twitter.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
I felt the need to switch Baubles to the new forge capabilities system and then Vazkii gently suggested / bullied me into adding more slots, then bugs needed fixing, then etc, etc. To make a long story short the past couple of weeks have been mostly Baubles focused, though I have made some progress in TC. I'm mostly done reworking arcane crafting and have begun changing the research system to also use forge capabilities.
Arcane crafting needed reworking because of the switch to the single vis type system. Arcane crafting recipes will now require various types and amounts of primal vis crystals to be placed in the 6 slots around the crafting grid. Furthermore I've removed the wand slot as the table will draw the vis it requires directly from the aura. This places a hard limit on what you can craft since if the current aura chunk does not have enough vis then you won't be able to craft the item - there will be upgrades to the table that will allow it to draw from more chunks (and thus give you a bigger pool of vis to work with), but I am still deciding what form the upgrades will take. Some form of multiblock structure maybe? Suggestions are welcome.

EDIT: (Random musing) What if golems were wisps?
Omgomgomgomg wisps for golems! ;_;
But I also like golems! ;_;
Oooooh! And maybe if the wisp was infused with certain aspects, they do different stuff. For example, a Lux wisp that lights your path. I don't know... Leave me out of this! T_T
Well it would simplify pathing, due to being able to fly, but probably couldn't carry many items or be durable enough for combat functions.
So it would be perfect for a new golem type.
Way back in the day while I was working on TC2 I considered making wisps tamable. You would use them to farm, carry items, fight, etc. I started fiddling with the concept, but ended up changing the idea to seals. I almost revisited the idea later, but once again it changed. This time to golems.
Golems are a thing now, but the old idea still remains. It would definitely be a lot simpler than golems - no animations or complex models to worry about.
Personally, I was never interested in hunks of rock or meat doing my bidding, having a wisp doing it would interest me a lot more though, having more flashy pretty lights is always better in my opinion, though I would assume lots of others would be sad to see golems go, even if I wouldn't care much.
Though I think you just said they're staying, I'm not fully sure because it's almost 7AM. lol
As for what form you arcane crafting upgrades might take...
Having a structure you build could work, but here's another idea.
Having some sort of machine that'd take up multiple blocks, similar to the weird alchemical thing you'd build with the primordial pearl back in the day (Like, 2X2 wide and 3 or 4 blocks tall maybe?) that's some giant machine that supplies the different upgrades for basically anything that requires them.
I just like the idea of a giant machine with nodes in little glass tube things(Maybe you'd add them in? I dunno if you're keeping nodes or not) and it's kind of like the heart of your upgrading system for other machines too?
I'm kinda just thinking of asthetics, so maybe not. lol
Now that I think about it, I fully support the Wisp idea; even more now knowing it would make it easier for you. I feel like Wisps are very unique to Thaumcraft and it would be lovely to be able to tame them. Maybe give the tamed Wisps some cute eyes (kinda like the ones the Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy have) to distinguish them from normal Wisps.
Now here is an unfortunate mod / "server" interaction.
Thaumcraft 4's runic armor - on a CraftBukkit server - running Simply Magic - does not appear to work.
At the very least, all damage happens to *both* the health bar AND the runic armor overlay - in the worst case it feels that the damage being done while even a +1 runic armor ring is equipped bypasses the Protection enchant or armor level. Difficult to prove without a combat log mod logging the damage and mitigation done (do such things exist?).
The benefit I guess is that I can now try the other baubles, that I normally just discard out-of-hand. (Perhaps i've just played too many games where min-maxing for combat is important, but for me, effective damage mitigation > pretty much anything else.)

That is one of the reasons I changed TC5 to use the vanilla yellow heart system. Too many mods or plugins could cause the older system to fail or behave unpredictably.

If this means that we can finally expect modpacks to have a single extra character sheet that allows rings, belts and so on to be equipped I fully support this diversion.

I strongly encourage the multi-block-structure route. TC4's arcane infusion altar was one of the most awesome features of the mod. It was just so much sheer FUN to use, as well as looking awesome.
Could there even be more than one tier? A single-block starting crafter that draws from only the chunk it's in, a multi-block mid-level crafter built around it that draws from (say) the five nearest chunks, and a larger and more elaborate late-game multi-block built upon THAT which draws from all of the nearest nine? I have two different mental images of the tier 3 structure, one looking like a huge crystalline crown with the thaumaturge standing at the center underneath the arches, the other looking like a circle of black stone talons frozen about to rend the thaumaturge limb from limb. Light and dark path versions....?
(Brain mutters, "Tier 4 would draw from 13 chunks, tier 5 from 21... Probably shouldn't try to build a tier 5. Bad idea. BAD idea. But I wonder...")
So what does Baubles encompass now? And is there a beta we can download and test?
(Yeah, I admit, I mostly skipped TC5 because I mostly skipped 1.8.9. Fiddled around a bit, never got motivated to do much more than build a house. Too much life intervened.)
So, since arcane crafting will no longer use a wand, I suppose this means the end of scepters? And what downside would a staff have compared to a wand?

About to experience potatonadoes and chickenstorms.

Progress update -
Good news: Been doing a lot of modding lately
Bad news: Most of it was related to Baubles

Is baubles a separate mod or what?
It's an add-on that auto-installs with Thaumcraft, but can be downloaded alone for use with whatever other mods use it.
