so,i was in my modpack, wanted to fight another mod boss called Smash, which,if you observe,is a troll with a giant club
now,if he acted like a zombie it would be ok,but he haves a attack that LAUNCHES me up 9 blocks,so i die from fall damage or be with 1 heart
then your mobs came in.a raika(whatever is the desert bird)kept following me,and when i was launched,it grabbed me and dropped me lower(it would grab me when i was falling)
sadly, the boss kiled it and then,a verdant joust, another hero, came and beated the **** out of the boss
just have to say how much I smiled at your post I love Lycanites Mobs tremendously and it actually took me over 45 minecraft days just to start tinkers construct and build a home....lol it can be annoying I know.....but once you actually get what you need(which will happen sooner or later) it becomes a little more bearable......Minecraft is pretty easy and once you have it all, it can become quite boring, quite quickly, but with this mod, its never boring and never 'easy'.... Lycanite works hard on this mod and quite active hear on the thread and I know he'll thank you himself......but as a LONG time fan, I would tip my hat to you sir!! just for posting such a story, as i too LOVE when they attack each other mobs and leave me alone......doesn't happen too often, but to catch a breath is always good
Is that coming from your mod? ..you sure it's just yours? I've seen that error too but thought it was coming from somewhere else. Will let you know if I find it without Lycanite's installed.
I have been able to produce a similar bug that does need to be fixed, another mod could also have the same issue too, let me know how it goes!

Lol! I love these stories! I'm glad to hear my mod is adding a new element of spontaneous interactions to your world! Don't mess with the Verdant Joust! XD

Yup I do love these stories! I should maybe add a stories section onto the website or something, perhaps for videos and other things too!
Check out my adventure modpack! 25+ carefully selected mods (Not counting Core Mods) and great for if you don't have that beefy of a computer. Plus it has over 2K downloads and counting so y'know it's good. Oh, and fully multiplayer compatible!
There's also the resource intensive version (if you can handle it) for a bigger experience!
I was perusing through the Lycanite's mod site, and came upon the planned dragons, and I must say, the current ideas are rather good. I did find, however, that the traditional 'wyrm' was missing, substituted with the Tatzelwurm- Something that dissapointed me to a small extent, as I had always enjoyed the story of the wyrm that had spikes covering its body that was eventually defeated by an ingenious knight who attached spikes to his own armor. I think a flightless serpent with spikes covering its body would be an interesting addition to the mod, due to its difficult-to-kill nature, wrapping itself around you and doing constant yet small damage, applying a small bleeding effect once defeated. Perhaps some form of spiked armor could be added, were this to be made an addition to the mod.

Translators? Is that everyone or only those people? Cause I can never have this idea being put out there and I cant make a good mod cause I don't really want to risk breaking my computer trying to make a mod. Can you do something about this?
Lobbers, Wendigo and other large mobs will be summonable in the future using large summoning portals that must be built, I should add this to the plans list as summoning creatures is going to be a bigger part of this mod in the future.

I'm glad to hear you like the Dragon plans! They are still very subject to change though. I was going to add the Wyrm but there are some many definitions to it, for instance one meaning is the traditional european dragon with 4 legs (or 2 arms and 2 legs) and 2 wings where as another is like a large serpent, which is why I decided to not include it as a subtype because it's essentially an alternative name for Dragon in general perhaps excluding some kinds like Wyverns. Essentially a Wyrm could be a Lindwurm, Tatzelwurm or Drake. A dragon that has no arms, legs or wings is too close to being just a serpent in my eyes, perhaps covered in spikes but it raises the question of whether or not a Cruska nd Serpix (and planned Gorger) is a Wyrm in that case making too much of a grey area, this is what happened with the Ampithere and Remobra where in the end I decided that the Remobra should just be a dragon as it matches the description.
Man I really want to start adding a bunch of dragons now!

Cool animation! Translators are people who take this mod and rewrite all the text entries into different languages, you don't need and special software to do this just a plain text editor though for windows I would recommend Notepad++.
I believe you misunderstood my usage of the word "wurm" here- I mean the wurm in the dragon sense, my good man/woman. The Serpix is a worm, not a wurm. Two different things.

My first reaction was to crush you to death beneath the overwhelming weight of inter-nerdom debate essays on the subject. Then I looked at the time and decided to go to bed.
Suffice it to say that wurms are dragons and wyrms are also dragons, but may or may not be a different kind of dragon than wurms depending on what kind of dragons the dragons are in the place with dragons, because creative license.
Let's just agree to disagree. Lycanite himself said that he won't include the wyrm as a dragon, as he found it too lizard like. I still think, however, that the Serpix is more insect than lizard, thus rendering the usage of the word(s) wurm and wyrm false when applied to it. Have a good day.
I can see your point there. I've dropped trying to get the traditional wyrm into the mod, but I do have another idea, if you choose to make the dragons their own mob classification- Hierarchy. Dragons are often famed for their pride, yes? Well, surely, many being as intelligent as people, they would have developed a caste system? Like, Lower and Higher dragons? For instance, dragons like Baphomet would be near the top, and the meek Remobra would live near the bottom; It'd be an interesting way of categorizing the creatures if they were in their own separate mob groups. At least, I think it is.
Ah so some Abtus will, but not all this is because adult Abtus will spawn baby Abtus around them, the babies wont drop anything as it could be abused for really fast infinite resource farming. Naturally spawned adult and baby Abtus should drop items though.

That is a good idea indeed! Well some of the non-dragon bosses will be intelligent, others will just be really large and powerful beasts, the same will apply for the dragons where most dragons will just be beasts but some bosses will be intelligent. I don't really want the dragons to have too much intelligence though as it creeps more into a race where they wouldn't just roam around naked, they'd have buildings and a society, the odd giant boss though is ok as it's more of a deity-esc intelligence.
You got everything exactly right, Lycanite. (Ooh, that rhymed). But yeah, I agree with you on the intelligence thing- they certainly wouldn't be on par with that of a human or some other civilization building creature, though it would definitely be near the border between the intelligence of, say, a goblin (very stupid but smart enough to make towns) and just being an animal- at least, for the higher dragons. Creatures like the Remobra would be to them like cattle are to humans- little better than animals, from their point of view, and most likely food. Oh, actually, that's a good idea! Cannibalism for the carnivorous mobs, if they have a caste system. The weak are eaten to make room for the strong. But yeah, making them intelligent enough to be more than primal beasts does seem to make their entire existence in the mod ineffectual. I really like your idea about the boss intelligence levels, though- for instance, dragons on par with Baphomet would at least have some inkling of advanced tactics, whereas some sort of wolf-man boss would be the simple bum-rush and fight-and-flight tactics- basic stuff.
You've done an excellent job, Lycanite. Keep going.
Has anyone ever started an HD texture pack for these mobs? Don't get me wrong, the models are amazing and they all look pretty good, but visually they don't fit my sphax-pack.
There should be rot worms from dungeons and dragons, they would be a tiny mob that would deal no damage but would come in swarms and latch onto you and start burrowing into your skin, after 2 minutes, they would reach your heart and deal a huge amount of damage, killing you. Wearing full armour would reduce the chance of them burrowing by a decent amount, iron would be -50% diamond would be -95%. The only way you would be able to remove them from your body would to be to drink a damage potion, they would only be found deep underground or in strongholds.
Sounds like a cool idea! The upcoming Darkling mobs will be a little bit like this where they will latch onto their prey and slowly suck their blood.
Hey, I have an idea for the update, a dragon that has the heads of all the dragons like Tiamat from dungeons and dragons, it would be extremely hard to defeat and only beatable with enchanted weapons and bows.
I'll be adding the Hydra as a multi headed dragon and I will likely add a few more too, Tiamat sounds like a good idea!

Thanks! That cannibalism idea sounds pretty interesting, it would be a good mechanic that could take the random mob sizes into account.

Not yet but I'm happy to help anyone who is willing to create one. The model format I use isn't the traditional Minecraft format, but they do support resource packs.

Hay, can we tame Lobbers somehow?
I'd like to have Lobber minions again.

A wurm already exists in the form of the serpix.
