You can add materials using the block name. So for instance for the woolen clay, it would be something like chisel:woolen_clay (the same thing you use in the /give command).
Ah, that is a very useful tip, to try it with the give command first! I am going to look up what works right away! Thank you for your super fast reply!
It works! It was exactly what you thought it would be! Here is a picture with wool, woolen clay and clay next to each other, so you can see why woolen clay looks awesome as colorful portals!
And here is a picture of my old clay portals and the new woolen clay portals in my teleportation chamber, which shows very well how much more it brings justice to the name 'colorful' portals! *Purple blocks are colored blocks from extra utilities!*

May I ask or i`d better say annoy you a bit, have you done some work on the 1.8 since august?I really liked this mod....
Hey, I've explored updating it to 1.8 and 1.8.9 a bit more since then, but I've discovered that many of the features won't work in 1.8 without totally redesigning the mod... so it may have to work a bit differently. Right now I'm considering how I'd have to change it.
Hey Tmtravlr, Im trying to play this mod on the Minecraft v1.9 and Im using Forge v1.9-12.16.1.1887 but its not working can u probably upgrade your colorful portals mod or post a more recent verison
I put your mod in my personal server, but since the first portal was built, the server got into great lag, could that be caused by this mod? Will it do if I enlarge my server memery?
I've found that the lag actually happens at the time when one player gets through the portal to a place far away, and then players on both sides suffer. And yes, after one door was torn down, my server works back well then.

What other mods do you have? Also, does the same thing happen if you just use a /tp command to teleport far away?
Yes but the lag caused by the portal I think, is much more serious that it affects everyone in the server. But/tp only cause one player and a short while. I don't think they are the same.
I have pretty many mods installed. Most of them are listed.

Thaks.
Hmm, I don't see a mod in there that could be causing the lag, at least not as far as I know.
This mod teleports players in exactly the same way as the /tp command (except between dimensions) so I'm not too sure why it would be lagging everyone. If you can, try running the server without mods, and see if the /tp command still causes lag, then do the same with only colourful portals installed. That would hint at whether it itself is causing the lag, or one of the other mods is contributing.
I deleted a world that has colorful portals on it and now I get an error in the server launch. No crash, just an error.
So I was wondering if there was a file other than the config file where I could delete those portals that some how the server still sees.
Thanks
EDIT: Okay, I realize it must be the colourful_portal_locations.dat file in the world folder.
But how do I open this file?
I'm on a mac and trying NTBExplorer did not work. It doesn't see the file at all.
Any other thoughts?
Hey, if you haven't created any new portals, you can delete the colourful_portal_locations.dat file and it should recreate itself. What does the error in the launch say by the way?

Here you go. =)
https://github.com/Tmtravlr/ColourfulPortals
I uploaded the current 1.7.10 code in the master branch. I also uploaded the code I had been messing around with in 1.8.9 in a separate branch.
I have been and will continue to be rather busy, so that is probably the best idea.
lol Yeah, that's fine.
YAY!
Good to hear it's going well!

1.5G for 4players. The size is as big as the minimum size of the nether portal, linked with one single-block portal.
Actually that shouldn't make a difference. This mod isn't doing anything that should cause lag like that.
DemonSunDa, if you remove the portal, does the lag go away? What other mods do you have installed?

Ok, I 'll try. Thanks anyway
What's the story on this?
The original creator of this mod will not do a 1.10 update?
This is such a nice mod. I've been using it for 2 years on my server.
I hope you find the strength to update it. ;-)
